Does anyone find bit.ly sometimes crashes their browser?

We use bit.ly frequently for our social media work and links to projects at www.blueprint.tv
We often find that the browser crashes and think it is to do with the flash player. Does anyone else find this are there browsers that are better in dealing with this?

I have had the same problem with my Iphone 4s. I have restored it several times and the issues comes and goes. I can be on a call or just openning a app and the screen will go dim. The only way for the backlight to come back on is for me to hit the power button. Its very annoying and I have not took it to apple yet because It does not stay dim.

  • Does anyone find the password reset frustrating?

Does anyone find that the constant update to the security password is not only a hassle but also has a negative impact on its customers. Today I lost my phone, so I went to icloud on my computer, and it said I needed to reset my password. I couldn't cancel or do it later, I had to do it right then and there. So I reset my password, furious to get to the icloud page and then to the find my iphone, However after I reset my password, the phone itself did not have the correct password and thus it couldn't locate the phone. Furthermore, I know it was because of the updated apple id password that caused this because I have an ipad that also could not be found, that was still connected to the internet and on. This updating password is extremely unnecessary. When I was debating back when I was getting an iPhone 5s rather to get a 5s or try something new, I decided with apple because of its ecosystem. However, with this experience I realized that Apple is not into what it's customer wants but rather pushing its own ideology down its customers throats. Consider me no longer apart of the Apple family. Today you have lost a customer, a fan, and an enthusiast. I'm very disappointed in how you have handled your business.

  • Does anyone know how to read crash logs?

Does anyone know how to read and interpret a crash log from the Sims Medieval?  I have contacted EA but they are not helpful.
    Just curious.

I use LibreOffice, a free, open source MS Office look-alike that was created and maintained by volunteers. I have been using it with my MacBook Pro since I got it last fall. It's not a perfect "copy" but it does quite well! It does preserve formatting, and uses almost all the same shortcuts.

While the P2P software in itself isn't illegal, using it to download copyrighted music is illegal so such discussion is not allowed in the forum. There are lots of pay site for online music that you can consider to look at though.

  • Late MBP 2010: Does anyone find that startup is slower and system runs slower?

I have a late Macbook Pro 2010 and once I downloaded the new OS X I've noticed that when I turn my MBP on at start up it is a lot slower and I have to wait 30-45 sec for it to get me to the main screen plus I've noticed my programs are running a little slower. Is anyone finding the same problem? Need help...how this is just a bug that can be fixed. Any ideas or fixes?

After upgrading from Snow Leopard, you may find that older, incompatible software may cause the sort of problems you describe.
Back up your documents and everything else important to you, not that there is any reason to believe your hard disk may be failing, but the symptoms you describe may presage an impending disk failure, and you should have backups anyway.
To help determine the possible causes of this behaviour read the following. None of what follows is intended to fix anything, but it will provide the additional information required to advance troubleshooting:
Boot OS X Recovery by holding ⌘ and r (two fingers) while you start your Mac. At the Mac OS X Utilities screen, select Disk Utility. Select your startup volume (usually named "Macintosh HD") and click the Repair Disk button. Describe any errors it reports in red.
When it finishes restart your Mac and test again for operation. If it's still not behaving as you expect it should, please post the results of EtreCheck in accordance with the following instructions:
Apple Support Communities contributor etresoft wrote a very useful app to quickly gather certain system information that may help point to a cause of this problem. Go to his website, download and run EtreCheck:
    http://www.etresoft.com/etrecheck
Etrecheck will be in your Downloads folder. Open it from there. You may see the following dialog box:
Click Open - etresoft contributes to this forum frequently and can be considered a trustworthy developer.
It will take a moment to run as it collects its data.
Copy and paste its output in a reply.
Do not be concerned about anything that says "Problem" or “failed” or anything else that may appear in red.
EtreCheck was designed to remove any personal information (such as your computer's name and serial numbers) but if you see anything that looks like an email address or any other personal information that should not be divulged to others, please delete or obscure that information when you post the reply.
When you are finished with EtreCheck, quit the program. It occupies very little space, and you can keep it or drag it to the Trash as you wish.
After completing the above please determine if the problems also occur in "Safe Mode":
Safe Mode or "Safe Boot" is a troubleshooting mode that bypasses all third party system extensions and loads only required system components. Read about it: Starting up in Safe Mode
Starting your Mac in Safe Mode will take longer than usual, graphics will not render smoothly, audio is disabled on some Macs, and some programs (iTunes for example) may not work at all.
Merely starting your Mac in Safe Mode is not intended to resolve the problem, it's to observe its performance without certain additional components.
To end Safe Mode restart your Mac normally. Shutdown will take longer as well.

  • Does anyone know how i can embed a browser in my JFrame?

In microsoft technologies they have OLE, where I can embed Internet Explorer into any application written in VB or C++ (or C Sharp).
Does anyone know how I can do this with Java? Is there a way to make a java applet that has a browser in it?
And then if there is, can I also put an invisible layer on top of that, and paste JLabels and stuff into that, over the browser window?

    Have a look at JEditorPane.
    From the API Guide:
A text component to edit various kinds of content. This component uses implementations of the EditorKit to accomplish its behavior. It effectively morphs into the proper kind of text editor for the kind of content it is given. The content type that editor is bound to at any given time is determined by the EditorKit currently installed. If the content is set to a new URL, its type is used to determine the EditorKit that should be used to load the content.
By default, the following types of content are known:
    text/plain
Plain text, which is the default the type given isn't recognized. The kit used in this case is an extension of DefaultEditorKit that produces a wrapped plain text view.
    text/html
HTML text. The kit used in this case is the class javax.swing.text.html.HTMLEditorKit which provides html 3.2 support.
    text/rtf
RTF text. The kit used in this case is the class javax.swing.text.rtf.RTFEditorKit which provides a limited support of the Rich Text Format.

  • Anyone find that VirusBarrier Express crashes since Maverick update?

VirusBarrier Express now crashes on both my iMac and Mac mini since updating to OS 9.
    Anyone else with same problem?
BTW, I have sent crash reports to both Apple and Intego.  Intego says they will contact me but there have been two virus def updates and the problem with the app still continues.

Delete Virusbarrier, you don't need it, and Intego may not have update their application yet.
There are many forms of ‘Malware’ that can affect a computer system, of which ‘a virus’ is but one type, ‘trojans’ another. Using the strict definition of a computer virus, no viruses that can attack OS X have so far been detected 'in the wild', i.e. in anything other than laboratory conditions. The same is not true of other forms of malware, such as Trojans. Whilst it is a fairly safe bet that your Mac will NOT be infected by a virus, it may have other security-related problem, but more likely a technical problem unrelated to any malware threat.

  • Does anyone find that the new iPad Air sounds sort of "hollow" when using the pad?

Maybe I don't know what I am talking about, but I feel like when using the iPad Air, it seems a bit hollow when using the screen pad or basically just using it in general. My last iPad (the latest one before the Air) seemed like it was more quality. Does that make sense?

Yes it does have a slightly hollow sound when you tap the screen. This is because the screen is made a bit differently than the older ones...there's a gap between the layers in the screen, which causes the sound you're hearing...it's completely normal on the Air. I took my Air back tho! It's awesome but just a bit big for my taste. I'm hoping the Mini comes soon!
And I don't know why Kappy is saying the speakers can't do the low frequency so well. The speakers on the Air produce a way better sound than earlier gens..including low frequencies.
    cheers

  • Where does one find the WPA-key for their airport express?

I'm trying to have a Playstation 3 access my airport express network.  It sees the network but when I get to the security settings (which is WPA-2) it asks for my WPA key.  I don't know where to find that.  I went into my computer's keychain utility to find it, but I am rather lost there.  Any help?

I now am able to log on, thanks.  I typed this in earlier and it said that it was an invalid key.  Not sure what settings were doing things before.  Thanks alot.  However, I'm having another problem.
Since I got my airport express I have been having trouble logging onto certain sites that I use to with just the cable modem.  The progress bar in Safari goes about half way and then stops.  Firefox browser does the same thing on the same sites.   It is only a just a couple sites like Yahoo home page for emails.  When I tried to log into the Playstation Network, the same thing happened, it won't access it and then times out.  My OS version is 10.6.8 if that helps.

  • HT5821 Does anyone find iMessage SPAM reporting extremely clumsy?

Shouldn't there be a button to tap in the UI to do this all for me. It's a PITA what you need to go through to report it. I'm guessing maybe it's just a "first step", but it seems like something should be in the UI on all their devices to support doing all this stuff (since the UI will have all this info available....and more). It could even take care of carrier SPAM reporting as well.
I'd also like to see an option to block messages from everyone except contacts. I don't get/want text messages from people I don't know.

We are all just users like you and can't do anything about your requests for features. You can provide feedback to Apple at this link: http://www.apple.com/feedback

  • Does anyone else have a problem with their charger getting extremely hot?

When I charge my macbook pro, the charger gets soooo hot- Should I get a new one or does apple repair them? It is so hot I can't touch it sometimes.

I would take it to an Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider  (AASP) for evaluation, or call your nearest Apple Contact Center. Visit the Genius Bar at the Apple Retail Store,  make a reservation.

  • HT3819 Does anyone get an unknown library under their shared libraries on the ITunes desktop?

I have never turned on sharing and have a secure home network yet somehow I have a shared library under my ITunes desktop that I would appear to have access to.  This seems really strange.  Anyone seen this before?

I have never heard of a virus that is transmitted via a shared library.
What you are seeing is regular sharing, not Home Sharing.  Regular sharing allows listening, but not copying.  There is a short description here:  http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12350
