Does anyone from Adobe ever come here?

With the number of posts with ZERO replies here, it seems
pretty obvious that no one from Adobe ever comes to this forum.
Which is something very wrong, considering it's such an expensive
piece of software (my company payed $7500 for our FMIS 3 license).
I don't see this problem with smaller companies, such as Wowza,
where you feel the devs are actually reading and answering peoples
questions.
Seriously, it wouldn't take much effort for a company big as
Adobe, to put a specialist to answer a few questions now and
then.

I have lots of questions, and I just placed one on another
thread.
But this is not about me. It's about everyone posting
questions here and having almost no replies from any experts on the
matter. A lot of these questions seem like very legitimate doubts,
which I'm sure a lots of people would like to see an answer to, and
which I'm also sure, an Adobe developer would be able to answer in
less then 30 seconds.

  • Does anyone from Apple ever visit here?

I'll be honest - I really like Keynote but I've been having some issues with making a slideshow (with music) into a DVD (the music disappears).
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7235122#7235122
After 3 days I was hoping that somebody might have at least made a suggestion.
So back to my question - if Apple sell and promote this product then it would really help us users solve problems if one of their 'experts' spent a bit of time helping out here. Now I'm not stupid around Mac's, I've been using them for over 15 years, and I've been using Powerpoint for a similar length of time. If Keynote was a Microsoft product then I would expect to have loads for problems, but this is Mac software - it should be easy!
Does anyone else have an opinion?

No, no nerves touched. I was simply trying to provide you with some interim sources of information until someone was able to answer your question. Since you did not state what steps you'd already taken to find an answer I tried to give you some alternative sources. When you post a question it makes sense to let us know what you've already done to find an answer otherwise we will tell you stuff you may already know because we don't know what you've done.
As I stated if someone has an answer for you (and reads your post) then they will surely post a reply. But the Discussions are not a direct link to any Apple provided product support. These are strictly user-to-user discussions. If nobody has given you a definitive answer perhaps it's because nobody knows the answer or hasn't ready your post or you've posted in the wrong forum or as is likely the case for your topic the subject is unrelated to the problem for which you are seeking help - consider a more relevant topic subject.
Frankly, from your topic subject I had no idea what you were looking for because it conveyed only that you had something to complain about regarding why no Apple specialists were around. Until I read the post I didn't know you wanted help with Keynote. If I had I probably wouldn't have read your post because I have no expertise with Keynote.
If you understand the purpose of the Discussions and post a clear and well stated problem with an appropriate subject in the appropriate forum then you have a much greater likelihood of getting a relevant reply.

  • Does anyone from Apple ever look at these posts?

Logically speaking it's difficult to assume that all these problems with SL and the peripheral devices attached to them can be blamed on the user. I'll allow for some to be the fault of the user but not the majority.Especially when the problems are so similar.
Does anyone from Apple check this site or is it just a grip sheet provided by them?
Having been a pc user up until a couple of years ago SL is beginning to make me feel like I'm back on a pc. Not good!!

Does anyone from Apple check this site
Yes, but they rarely post. Click here for more information.

  • Does anyone from Adobe offer feedback and support for this product?

I'm a teacher at an elementary school and run our morning news show. Currently we're using rather old hardware to run the show through closed-circuit, but are in the process of getting what we need to run a software solution instead. When I watched the video for VC3, I liked what I saw. It was a major part of why we decided to go with a software solution. It seemed to have all the right pieces for what we need to do.
However, the more I read about it on this forum and around the net, it seems that support and instruction for this product is non-existent, and that the product itself can be buggy at times. This has me quite concerned. It looks like this program is a few years old now, and I can't find any recent updates or news about it. Before I make the purchase, is this a program that Adobe even supports anymore? Is there anyone here at Adobe or elsewhere in the know that can/will provide guidance and troubleshooting if needed?
If not, does anyone here have any other products that they have experience with that might provide a better alternative? We're still looking to run this as a live show through a closed-circuit, although we could prerecord the show and stream it if necessary, but the turnaround time would need to be quick.
    Any thoughts?

There is an entire community of Visual Communicator users at http://TeachMeVC.com where you can browse topics and ask questions if you become a member (free).
Nobody bothers to monitor the forums on the Adobe site for this product so we encourage you to join us at TeachMeVC.com and subscribe to stay in the loop.  You will find users that span from the education, business, government and personal users of Adobe Visual Communicator.
Also consider my training DVD series and equipment recommendations that have been used by thousands of VC users over the years.  There is NO competing product that gives you live greenscreen capability, teleprompter, easy workflow, wizards, and a ton of included media content.  At this point in time, Adobe Visual Communicator is a unique product in it's class!  The next comparable option is to spend $8,000 to $10,000 on a NewTek Tricaster that has a huge learning curve.

  • Does anyone at Adobe ever answer the phone?

I replacd a computer and went through the deactivation process.  However, when I reactivated Adobe CS4 on the new computer, it said that I hadn't deactivated!! (I already have it installed on a laptop and was trying to replace my desktop).
I've spent over 4 hours on hold waiting to speak to a live person at Adobe and get NO ANSWER.  OPening tech support cases through the webbased support result in them saying, "Call the activation number" even though I've told them I've waiting over 4 hours on hold.
This is the absolute worst support I've ever seen from a company.  It amazes me that people continue to buy Adobe's products given the pathetic support.
Is anyone at adobe awake and able to assist with this problem?

No, apparently no one at Adobe answers the telephone and they have outsourced their customer service to another company so they don't even do that anymore - which also makes it very convenient to blame someone else for these problems...

  • Does anyone from Adobe monitor this forum? Do they even care about this program?

I've clicked on many of the questions here as I try to learn how to use Story, but I have yet to see any responses from anyone at Adobe. It seems like they treat Story like an afterthought and don't care about its users. My frustration has grown more and more to the point now where I'm not going to use it any more, at least not until they add some basic functionality that is badly needed but missing. The tutorial section on Adobe TV, in one word, sucks. Badly. It's too bad, Story has some real potential, but Adobe has dropped the ball on it.

I monitor this forum, as well as, Adobe Story quality engineers and other staff. I often see responses from the quality engineers. If you post specifics, we can try to help.

Have you filed any feature requests? Here's the link: http://adobe.ly/feature_request
That's the best way to communicate with the team.

  • Does anyone from Nokia ever respond to these quest...

Why are there never any responses to the Ovi - PC Suite issue.
Even a negative response to let us know where we stand.
And why have we not got map voice routing yet??
Incredible arrogance being shown to customers

You may not be a luddite, but you are acting exceptionally naive.... that or you truly have been hiding under a rock.
Original iPhone only 65% complete/ functional.
    Palm Pre released 80% functional
    Android G1 total rubbish
even the new Google Nexus One (which is Android 2.0) can't even maintain a 3G connection on T-mobile...
This is the reality of the Marketplace devices need to go through a cycle of several firmware updates to mature.  So the moral of the story, don't buy low version numbers if your not ready to put up with some pain.
On the point of rudeness... Read my posts... I rise and sink to the level of the poster.
We don't live in a dictatorship, no one made you buy the N900.
More bits, bytes and ink have been spent on the reviews and dissection of the N900 then any device that Nokia has put out over the last 18 months.  Moaners who post pantomime lamentations, display haughty disgust at missing features, incredulous shock that their needs aren't  being serviced as if they are the center of the universe, deserve the respect accorded to Used Car Salesmen, Lawyers or Bankers ( my apologies to Used Car Salesmen, Lawyers or Bankers) ... Because they just don't get open source and the responsibility it entails.
If you spent your money on a device that does not meet your needs, look in the mirror that is the only person you have to blame.
If you post a real problem or technical issue, I, and everyone else on the board will do their best to help you solve your issue.  If you just want to moan, call your local Nokia Tech support number. As part of the purchase price you get a free ticket to call support  as many times as you want.

  • Does anyone from Adobe read those posts?

Seriously, I've posted like 5 question the other day, no one even bothered to answer.
Also you give out tons of examples, majority of which should be part of the core osmf, and then you dont supply unit tests.
It takes 5(!) times longer to implement any of those examples with unit tests than just to write an example, only because it is OSMF.
You should be supplying unit tests with examples to prove they work!

    Are you kidding?
How many companies have forums that they SPECIFICALLY designate as 'user to user'?
They 'have' regular support forums where you can read (note: but not post) product support information.
'User to User' typically reads 'lip service'.

  • Can anyone from Adobe comment? BDMV playback on BD-R(E) being stopped making Encore useless

I have read on a number of forums now that Sony are forcing BD set top manufacturers to disable playback of any BD-R or BD-RE discs with BDMV structure to stop piracy
this means that Encore CS3 Blu-ray export will be useless (the only reason some of us bought it!), as is other Blu-ray authoring software (I also own DVDit Pro HD).
Does anyone from Adobe have any comments about this?
apparently a newly launched Pioneer player had the function removed at the last moment, as did a new Sony player and the PS3 is expected to lose the abilty to play them in an upcoming firmware release

More interesting stuff I dug up on Blu-ray:
"Since playback of non encrypted BDMV discs is outside the Blu-ray specs, it remains to be seen whether Sony and Co. will undo that loophole by coming up with yet another Blu-ray profile that prohibits playback of unprotected BDMV discs, or if Fox and Co. revamped the BD+ spec to only allow decryption if the underlying disc has AACS encryption. Either way, at this point I wouldn't bet much money on this workaround being permanent, so you should heed Slysoft's advice about buying HD media and buy HD DVD over Blu-ray - it is the more consumer friendly format (not to be confused with a consumer friendly format) and the risk you incur of not being able to exercise your fair use rights in the future are greatly reduces if Blu-ray becomes the prevailing format."
If I read between the lines here, are they saying that non-encrypted BDMV discs will NOT play on Blu-ray players? If so, then that means all home-authored and non-mega-corporation-authored BDMV discs.
Anyone with some industry connections care to sort this out a bit?

  • Anyone from Adobe care about customer service?

Want to buy CS6. Downloaded trial version but having issues with windows 7 home edition. Posted on Adobe Help Forums....no replies. Called Customer Service....was promised a call back; never received one. Considering moving to another product from an Adobe competitor. Anyone from Adobe reading these posts? Anyone from Adobe really care? Sad!

Hi and thanks for your comprehensive reply. I will try to answer all your questions. Just to back up a bit, I have tried many different things to get Audition 3.01 to work on my laptop. When I exhausetd all i could think of , I downloaded CS6 hoping that would give me better results. In the end, the two applications behaved exactly the same, ie inability to record in multi-track. Most of the tests I did, which I describe here were done on AA3.01. If they did not resolve the problem there, I am doubtful they are the cause of CS6 not working.
I have not tried playback only when selecting the TASCAM i/face. However, I can indeed select either the internal sound card on the laptop or the TASCAM in the HW Preferences. If I use the internal card, everything works except I cannot do multi-track recording of course. However, I can import a session and do everything with it. As for clock, I have tried toggling it between AUTOMATIC and INTERNAL in the TASCAM control panel, no difference (on AA3.01).I don't know if there is another place where this is controlled other than the TASCAM control panel. As for "device class" indeed I could only get CS6 to show the 16 channels of my TASCAM if I select ASIO. I did not check the "release ASIO in the background" box
    In summary
    1. AA3.01 Works well with an old PC runing windows XP 32 bit
    2. AA3.01 installs and runs on a HP Pavillion laptop, i3 processor 8 Gig RAM, windows 7 HOME EDITION 64bit. If using the internal sound card, I could use AA3.01 for everything except multi-track recording
    3. On the HP laptop, I can switch between internal card and TASCAM in HW preferences. I can arm one or up to 14 channels for recording. As soon as I hit record, about 1 sec of lead is highlighted in the tracks that are armed, but then everything stops. No crashing, no errors. If I delete the tracks I can continue working on other things.
    4. After exhausting everything I could, I installed Audition CS6 on the same HP laptop. Exactly the same issues with recording appear.
    5. I installed Audition CS6 on another laptop, a IBM Lenovo, i5 4Gig RAM windows 64 bit Professional. Absolutely no issues and everything works fine. Problem is, the Lenovo is a work laptop otherwise I would just use that and forget the rest
I will check about the playback when I get back from the office. However if memory serves me right, I believe I was able to use EDIT mode and still playback WAV files. Will confirm that later tonight
    thanks
    Tony

  • So does anyone from Apple read the posts on here

With the battery drain issues being experienced by so many, especially those with iPhone 5, I'm wondering if anyone from Apple may have actually read these posts. With all due respect to the experts, it is clear to me that the iOS 7.1 update is causing this problem. I have turned off numerous functions on the phone, done a full back up and my phone is practically useless. I shot a 2 min video last night and then replayed it. My battery dropped from 75% to 33%. It's time Apple got the finger out and fixed this issue.

I've got some tips for you to save up more battery:
    -close apps by multitasking
-do NOT use brightness to the max
-do NOT keep bluetooth, cellular data, wifi on when you do not need it
Make sure that apple's working on this issue since so many apple users have reported this issue
Try taking your iphone to the nearest apple store and show them your iphone, they'll test it and i guess there's an internal problem because i highly doubt that the battery could drop 42% in 4mins

  • Does anyone from BT read these postings? Are there...

Reading all these posts regarding BT's latest inferior product, I've seen dozens of people leaving BT, or threatening to leave BT's broadband service. Does nobody at BT care about the number of customers they are losing, or risking losing, by the overselling and hype of a product that only works properly on their glossy TV adverts?
    It's absolutely RUBBISH!!!
On Saturday I tuned in to watch the match of the season and, no disrespect to anyone from Norwich or the midlands, Norwich V Aston Villa exclusively live on BT is hardly a challenge to Sky Sports! Anyway, needless to say, it was hassle right from the start!! Click here, click there, watch this, choose this.....my mouse has never worked so hard!!
Eventually I saw an image which may even have been the image of a football match??
I still wasn't sure if it was indeed football at the point when I gave up watching! I couldn't see a thing (apart from error messages!). I wonder why, when you click on the 'help with player' message, there is such a long list of known errors??? Didn't BT want to sort out these issuse before they launched BT Sport? After all, the only people it is going to affect are BT customers!!! Why should they bother with us?
I'm pretty sure though that the people who pay extra to watch it via Sky aren't getting a single problem with it? Maybe it's just because they are paying extra???
Maybe it's my broadband that's at fault? Maybe I'm not getting the right speeds etc?? Who provides my broadband? Of course we all know the answer to this question!!!
BT, YOU NEED TO ANSWER YOUR CUSTOMER'S CONCERNS AND GIVE US WHAT YOU CLAIM TO PROVIDE AS A 'BONUS' TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!
I wonder will BT ever reply to any of these threads? Has anyone had a reply from BT? I'd love to hear.

Not true. It works fine for me and the great majority of customers.
It's a pity that some are having difficulties. A fair number of those have found solutions here, but usually when they've posted a rational account of their problem rather than an aimless rant.

  • Does anyone from Apple read these forums?

If a representative from Apple would read these posts, doesn't it seem like all of us who are having the same problem (the iPod Mini not being recognized by iTunes 6.0.1) would have been fixed already? Check out the number of posts that ALL have to do with this same issue - going back at least a month. This HAS to be related to the most recent software version. Does anyone know of a way (other than calling customer support and being charged for the call) to contact Apple and let them know there is a widespread problem with the iPod Mini and the most recent version of iTunes?

I can't seem to get iTunes up and running on my PC and am not getting any reply - I get the strange message "The folder iTunes can not be found or created and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the My Music folder. From what I can tell it is there but am unable to get things connected and running even after a de-install / re-install of the software. Getting frustated now - anybody out there with a suggestion?

I would think that someone from Adobe would read this to see what is going on and help with repetitive issues. Seems that several are having a problem installing reader version 9 or upgrading to version 9.
    See http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b5b178/15
Count me as one with this problem, see my post to above thread, so far nothing in way of help with what appears to be an issue others are having also?
