Does anyone from Apple read these forums?

If a representative from Apple would read these posts, doesn't it seem like all of us who are having the same problem (the iPod Mini not being recognized by iTunes 6.0.1) would have been fixed already? Check out the number of posts that ALL have to do with this same issue - going back at least a month. This HAS to be related to the most recent software version. Does anyone know of a way (other than calling customer support and being charged for the call) to contact Apple and let them know there is a widespread problem with the iPod Mini and the most recent version of iTunes?

I can't seem to get iTunes up and running on my PC and am not getting any reply - I get the strange message "The folder iTunes can not be found or created and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the My Music folder. From what I can tell it is there but am unable to get things connected and running even after a de-install / re-install of the software. Getting frustated now - anybody out there with a suggestion?

• Can anyone tell me if anyone from Apple reads these forums

*Can anyone tell me if anyone from Apple reads these forums and does anything about the issues experienced?* I still have a faulty proximity sensor, even after the latest download. I went to the Apple Store and they told me to stop using it with the leather pouch, but it doesn't make any difference. I even tested the test models in the store and they did the same thing.
*Has anyone been able to fix the proximity sensor fault on their phone so that it doesn't come on whilst your talking?*
Someone please help. I loved my iphone 3G, but the iphone 4 has caused me to become so disappointed with Apple. I'm even thinking of moving to the Samsung Galaxy, which has Google Android capability, moving background wallpapers, bluetooth capability, video capability that is compatible the a variety of media players (not just Quicktime), the ability to send business cards to non-apple phones and the ability to be used as a USB drive without needing wifi or itunes.

These Forums are mostly users talking with users, now and then you may see the grey Apple icon of an employee/genius posting and the purple Apple of a Forum host but they aren't here to pass on feedback.
The best way to make your point is to send feedback here:

• Does anyone from apple read these?

I'm just wondering if any tech people from apple read these threads.... wouldn't it be nice if they would chime in when questions could be easily answered by the authors of this great software?

We know more about how to solve issues than the guys Apple hires. Better than their programmers, better than their tech support lines, better than the "Apple Geniuses."
REAL WORLD experience and all.

• Does anyone from Apple read these threads?

I've had a problem with iTunes for over a week now. Apparently, it's a very common problem: "iTunes has encountered a problem..." at which point it never launches. I've tried all of the fixes suggested by Apple and even some from some of the other posters; all to no avail. *** is going on here?!?! Does apple really want people to defect and try other products? I've had my mini for just over a year now and due to crappy battery life, I was contemplating getting a nano. Not anymore. Not until Apple fixes this issue. Apple, are you listening?

Hi Katrina, After browsing the Discussions forum for an answer to a question, I read with interest your replies to several people. I am a Mac owner and I, like many others, find it difficult to contact Apple directly... but that's another issue. So I'm turning to you (and/or the forum).
I see you are using PC & Windows XP - &, if I remember correctly, I think you responded to some iTunes questions. Basically, I want to set up my Mum's old PC (Windows ME) with iTunes. I know there are compatability issues.
I am working remotely from Mum's PC at the moment because it's in the shop getting an upgrade. The only specs I can remember are: Pentium II; 300mhz for something or other; 128mb ram; a good Sound Card; and 2GB (I think) for overall memory. Sorry, I just can't remember. Suffice to say, it's no super computer, but by all accounts should be reliable and capable.
The old PC is incompatable with the newer versions of iTunes software , so my questions are, "Would an older version of iTunes work, & if so, do you know if I can download it from Apple?"
I've only used this forum once before, and am not familiar with the etiquette. Hope I haven't done anything wrong in trying to contact you directly (I tried to email you but didn't know how or where to send it.) If I could have worked out how to contact Apple, I would have done so. It seemed that every link I tried would tell me that they were not there to answer specific questions of the type I have just asked of you??? Hope you can help,

• Does anyone from Apple read these posts?

Just curious, because I see that many people report having the same problems, ye no one is able to provide a definitive answer as to how to fix them.
Any info would be helpful.
Thanks.

WRT to Apple employees and these discussions, see the *Who are the Apple Discussions personnel?* section in the Help & Terms of Use link.
If you or anyone else wants to report problems to Apple, either send Feedback or send bug reports and enhancement requests via its Bug Reporter system. To do the latter, join the Apple Developer Connection (ADC)—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report/enhancement request. The nice thing with this procedure over submitting feedback is that you get a response and a follow-up number; thus, starting a dialog with engineering.

• So does anyone from Apple read the posts on here

With the battery drain issues being experienced by so many, especially those with iPhone 5, I'm wondering if anyone from Apple may have actually read these posts. With all due respect to the experts, it is clear to me that the iOS 7.1 update is causing this problem. I have turned off numerous functions on the phone, done a full back up and my phone is practically useless. I shot a 2 min video last night and then replayed it. My battery dropped from 75% to 33%. It's time Apple got the finger out and fixed this issue.

I've got some tips for you to save up more battery:
-close apps by multitasking
-do NOT use brightness to the max
-do NOT keep bluetooth, cellular data, wifi on when you do not need it
Make sure that apple's working on this issue since so many apple users have reported this issue
Try taking your iphone to the nearest apple store and show them your iphone, they'll test it and i guess there's an internal problem because i highly doubt that the battery could drop 42% in 4mins

• Does anyone from BT read these postings? Are there...

Reading all these posts regarding BT's latest inferior product, I've seen dozens of people leaving BT, or threatening to leave BT's broadband service. Does nobody at BT care about the number of customers they are losing, or risking losing, by the overselling and hype of a product that only works properly on their glossy TV adverts?
It's absolutely RUBBISH!!!
On Saturday I tuned in to watch the match of the season and, no disrespect to anyone from Norwich or the midlands, Norwich V Aston Villa exclusively live on BT is hardly a challenge to Sky Sports! Anyway, needless to say, it was hassle right from the start!! Click here, click there, watch this, choose this.....my mouse has never worked so hard!!
Eventually I saw an image which may even have been the image of a football match??
I still wasn't sure if it was indeed football at the point when I gave up watching! I couldn't see a thing (apart from error messages!). I wonder why, when you click on the 'help with player' message, there is such a long list of known errors??? Didn't BT want to sort out these issuse before they launched BT Sport? After all, the only people it is going to affect are BT customers!!! Why should they bother with us?
I'm pretty sure though that the people who pay extra to watch it via Sky aren't getting a single problem with it? Maybe it's just because they are paying extra???
Maybe it's my broadband that's at fault? Maybe I'm not getting the right speeds etc?? Who provides my broadband? Of course we all know the answer to this question!!!
BT, YOU NEED TO ANSWER YOUR CUSTOMER'S CONCERNS AND GIVE US WHAT YOU CLAIM TO PROVIDE AS A 'BONUS' TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!
I wonder will BT ever reply to any of these threads? Has anyone had a reply from BT? I'd love to hear.

Not true. It works fine for me and the great majority of customers.
It's a pity that some are having difficulties. A fair number of those have found solutions here, but usually when they've posted a rational account of their problem rather than an aimless rant.

• Does anyone from NI read these posts?

What are the chances an NI representative would answer one of my posts? I don't seem to be having much luck here at the moment.
Robert Phillips

Just Plai… ,
Yes, as you can see we monitor these posts and generally like the user community to respond to other users first. Generally we like to think of these forums as a tool for 'users helping users' foremost and a technical support channel secondly. If you have a direct technical question that you need resolved quickly, please use the 'Contact NI' link on the www.ni.com home page and request phone or email support. You will recieve a tracking number for followup purposes and we'd be happy to answer your questions in an immediate fashion when using these support channels.
However - keep these posts and questions coming! I definitely know they benefit all Multisim, Ultiboard, LabVIEW and hardware users using our tools for simulation, prototyping and testing purposes.

• Does anyone from Apple actually read these pages?

I have browsed this forum and hardly anyone has their questions answered. Does anyone in Apple read these pages? Come on Apple, listen to your customers and answer their questions.

Google "Apple phone number". Choose the correct number and call it.
If you have purchased an iPod you get one free support call - unless you buy the Apple Care extended plan, in which case you get calls for 2 years.
If you have not purchased an ipod, they will bill you, since iTunes is a free program, and they are not in the business of troubleshooting Windows systems.
Hope that makes sense. The Firefox browser is free and there's no phone number to call on that either, to make a comparison.

• Does anyone from Apple ever look at these posts?

Logically speaking it's difficult to assume that all these problems with SL and the peripheral devices attached to them can be blamed on the user. I'll allow for some to be the fault of the user but not the majority.Especially when the problems are so similar.
Does anyone from Apple check this site or is it just a grip sheet provided by them?
Having been a pc user up until a couple of years ago SL is beginning to make me feel like I'm back on a pc. Not good!!

Does anyone from Apple check this site
Yes, but they rarely post. Click here for more information.

• Podcast problem. Does anybody from Apple read and reply to these?

I've read through the discussions and found that somebody else has raised a problem not being able to delete podcasts or hile them in the vew on Windows but seemingly there is an option on Mac.
This looks like a genuine issue with the new iTunes release and wondering if anybody from Apple can indicate if this is going to be fixed.... soon
thx

Apple won't comment on the issue. They ought to be aware of the problem since a number of users have submitted feedback. With luck the next build will address the issue. In the meantime the My Podcasts view only shows the downloaded episodes rather than the entire feed.

• Does anyone from Apple ever visit here?

I'll be honest - I really like Keynote but I've been having some issues with making a slideshow (with music) into a DVD (the music disappears).
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7235122#7235122
After 3 days I was hoping that somebody might have at least made a suggestion.
So back to my question - if Apple sell and promote this product then it would really help us users solve problems if one of their 'experts' spent a bit of time helping out here. Now I'm not stupid around Mac's, I've been using them for over 15 years, and I've been using Powerpoint for a similar length of time. If Keynote was a Microsoft product then I would expect to have loads for problems, but this is Mac software - it should be easy!
Does anyone else have an opinion?

No, no nerves touched. I was simply trying to provide you with some interim sources of information until someone was able to answer your question. Since you did not state what steps you'd already taken to find an answer I tried to give you some alternative sources. When you post a question it makes sense to let us know what you've already done to find an answer otherwise we will tell you stuff you may already know because we don't know what you've done.
As I stated if someone has an answer for you (and reads your post) then they will surely post a reply. But the Discussions are not a direct link to any Apple provided product support. These are strictly user-to-user discussions. If nobody has given you a definitive answer perhaps it's because nobody knows the answer or hasn't ready your post or you've posted in the wrong forum or as is likely the case for your topic the subject is unrelated to the problem for which you are seeking help - consider a more relevant topic subject.
Frankly, from your topic subject I had no idea what you were looking for because it conveyed only that you had something to complain about regarding why no Apple specialists were around. Until I read the post I didn't know you wanted help with Keynote. If I had I probably wouldn't have read your post because I have no expertise with Keynote.
If you understand the purpose of the Discussions and post a clear and well stated problem with an appropriate subject in the appropriate forum then you have a much greater likelihood of getting a relevant reply.

• Does anyone at Macromedia read this forum?

How can you put out an update that doesn't install correctly?
I have tried to install 8.0.1, then 8.0.2 and they MAY have
installed. Who knows! I still see "Dreamweaver 8.0" on the splash.
I am not running some exotic system; just XP, so where am I as far
as DW updates are concerned? And, from what I see on the forums, I
am not alone as far as problems are concerned...and, worse yet, I
don't see Macromedia/Adobe/whoever acknowledging that there is a
problem!
This scares the Hell out of me since I have quite a few DW
projects in my Macromedia folders and I can NOT afford to lose
them. Also a bunch of extensions.
Does ANYONE out there know what's going on?
FRUSTRATED...

Is DW running? What do you see when you use HELP | About
Dreamweaver, and
then click on the page that appears?

• Anyone from Blackberry Reading this Forum? If so....

Hi there, just became aware of this forum after it being mentioned over on Crackberry.com.
Anyways, if you work for Blackberry and are reading this forum and this thread, then PLEASE take stock of all that is said in this Z10 thread over on Crackberry.com here:
What Tweaks do you want to see in next BB10 software update?
And. Please. Make sure it is thoroughly shared and heard at Blackberry...
Many of us *really love* our Z10's, but can't help but feel that Blackberry/RIM *yet again* came out with an imperfect awesome device.
Is it impossible to have a nearly perfect smartphone because, although the Z10 is the best smartphone on the market according to me and others, it certainly has MUCH to be desired? Is it impossible to add (or *return*) to the Z10 most if not all of the MANY MANY MANY really great features we miss in the 7.0 system outlined in the above thread, because if it had most if not all of those features, you would be selling a lot more devices over the coming months to-be-sure?
If I were you and worked for Blackberry, I would see that Thorsten Heinz et al knew that, for the benefit of its many Z10 customers and the future of the company, Blackberry should come out with some kind of serious PR and SOON to assure us that 10.1 or other future updates will add many of the features that kept so many of us afloat in the hopes for so long that Blackberry would come out with the very best device, while we now sit here wondering why Blackberry left out SO MANY features we loved and frankly depended on with 7.0 etc, making our Z10 imperfect.
If you do not, or you tell us that we will not see many of those features, or leave us wondering much longer, then it is hard to imagine that we will stick with you forever and that Blackberry will be the flagship of smartphones it could be and succeed.
Thorsten et al, you do want to keep and grow your customer base, don't you? You do want to strike real concern and embarrassment in Apple and Android, don't you? You do want to not have future repeats of last week's sell-offs of the BBRY stock because of one tech firms' downgrade of the company's future over false rumors, but rumors still, of a high rate of returned devices, don't you? You do want to hear loudly from us that you have the most amazing phone on the planet ever, don't you?!
Then please hear and acknowledge our feedback, and execute much more of what we as Blackberry fanatics came to expect in great anticipation of what has turned out to be a three-quarter-baked awesome smartphone, the Z10, please.

OK, HTML got me again. Try this code:
case 62: // '>'
stringbuffer.append(">");
break;
