Does anyone get this? I can't open facetime at all
10.8.2 mac mini - have face time, but when launched, I can't access the preferences. Face time screen has a camara with a line through it? Help!
To my knowledge, and the Apple specs indicate that the mac mini does not include a built in Facetime camera, although an external camera can be plugged into it for FT use.

How can i open iphoto after the new update OS X 10.9.2 (13C64) i keep getting this mac can not open this application.

Since you can't see the defect, I'm providing the bug description for your reference.
1. Go to Policy > Conditions > Common > Time and Date
2. Click on "Specific Date Range"
3. The current date appears in FromDate and ToDate
4. Save this default setting
A error message appears: "Unable to create Condition - Error: Unparseable date: "01/16/2013"
1. It's unclear why this is unparsable. (Logically seems OK. Specific date range is for one day - today.)
2. If there is something wrong with it, then why is it the default setting? (If the start date has to be beyond current date then the default should be changed)
3. Specific date gives a similar error even if the date is one day beyond the default of today

Are you using a windows system or a Mac?
I would recommend you to check if any other system resource / program is accessing that file or if you have proper permissions to access that file.

Does anyone get this to work on WinXP?
I found a bunch of threads on this topic, but none of the recommended fixes have worked for me.
Here's my setup:
The Mac is a Dual 867 G4 (MDD), running OS 10.4.5. Uses Airport to connect wirelessly to a Linksys 4-port WAP.
The printer is an HP Laserjet 1300 connected to the Mac via USB. Printer sharing is enabled on the Mac, and the model is selected.
The PC is running Windows XP Pro SP 2. All recommended updates applied. Connects via a Linksys USB Wireless to the same WAP. Had previously configured network printing from the XP machine to the Mac, but it was always an arduous task.
I downloaded and installed Bonjour before removing the old queue. Ran the Bonjour Printer Wizard, which saw the printer. I selected the drivers already present, set it to the default printer, and got the "Error: You do not have sufficient access to your computer to connect to the selected printer" message.
Found the KB article that told me to dump the old printer queue, and I deleted both the older icons for this HP printer. Still got the message. Remembering the wisdom of Dogbert, I shut-up and re-booted. Still get the message.
Made sure I was running as administrator, and I am. Found a thread where someone suggested checking Administrative Tools > Local Security Policy > Local Policies > User Rights Assignment to see that "Load and unload device drivers" was present and available to Administrators. It is. Still get the error.
Found another KB article that mentioned SP2 is a problem because it turns on Windows Firewall by default. So I went into that control panel, and added Bonjour as an Exception app, then created a new port TCP 5353 to open that up in the firewall.
I still get the error.
What else can I look at? What am I missing?
And is "Bonjour" a re-christened "Rendezvous?"

I have Bonjour configured on my Windows XP SP2 machine and I'm able to connect and print to a shared printer on my Mac.
In one of the KB articles, it suggests the following: For Service Pack 2 systems
If you've installed Service Pack 2 on your system, you can use Bonjour for Windows to reconfigure the firewall automatically afterwards—you should not manually reconfigure this setting. To do this:
1. Go to the Control Panel and click Add or Remove Programs.
2. Select Bonjour from the list, then click Change/Remove.
3. Choose Repair, then follow the onscreen instructions.
If repairing doesn't resolve the issue, try uninstalling and reinstalling Bonjour.
1. Go to the Control Panel and click on Add or Remove Programs.
2. Select Bonjour from the list, then click Change/Remove.
3. Choose Remove, then follow the onscreen instructions.
4. Reinstall Bonjour for Windows by downloading the program from the Apple website, or install it from the media on which it came.
The other suggestion that I have is:
If you are using a router, you really don't need a firewall on any machine. To see if it's the firewall on your XP macnine that is causing the issue, turn off the Windows XP firewall. Sounds simple doesn't it, but to actually turn off the windows firewall, select it from your control panel, select Advanced, and uncheck all of the connects and click ok.
Give that a shot and let us know how/if it works.
Oh, Bonjour is the same client as before, it was just renamed due to naming issues. -
"List updated" screen on my iPhone and asking me to Accept or Cancel. Does anyone get this?
Has anyone ever got this screen on their iphone before? I get it occasionally but have no idea what's causing it.
Hmm interesting theory...I do press undo a lot, but only because I'm trying to get a good-looking brushstroke down, usually I don't even actively lock a layer as a step during my session because they've already been locked previously and I don't need to lock/unlock them often. The thing that is frustrating is that I will try to make a stroke, and can't because the symbol pops up...then I'll make the exact same intended stroke again and then it will work fine. It's pretty haphazard but basically every other stroke or every few strokes, it'll pop up.
I think I'm beginning to almost accept this rhythm in my workflow
I'm using CS6, and I noticed that I don't have this problem when I bring the file to work on at my job (CS5) or at school (CC).
Edit: I tried to test your theory by drawing as much as I could without pressing undo...I was pleasantly surprised to not run into any issues with the paintbrush, but sure enough, as soon as I switched from the paint brush to the eraser, and tried to erase something I just drew, the eraser popped up with the "prohibited" symbol. -

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List. -

Reset iTunes Store Cache (iTunes Preferences, Advanced tabl)
Delete the App Store plists (close App Store first):

To get to these,iIf you still have your user Library hidden, hold down the Option key and select Library from the Go menu in Finder. Otherwise, just go into your home folder, then Library, and then Preferences. -

There is no place where you can download the SP3. Anyway 6.5 has more advance features. Anyway SP2 works fine with win NT. If you have any specific problem with installation, you can point them out. I would suggest you to use 6.5 instead.

I accidently deleted Safari and now I can't reinstall because it keeps telling me there is a newer version on my computer. The issue is my system does not support the newer version. Does anyone know how I can get around this?

I believe you may be referring to the $49 ASL agreement at AppleCare? That is only when/if you are out of AppleCare Protection.
Can you get to an AppleStore Genius Bar?
They may be able to fix this for you. No charge.
I highly doubt that. There is a $70 charge for troubleshooing software issues, EVEN IF there is AppleCare Warranty on the hardware.
However, since there is no charge for an appointment at a Bar, go make one, and see what options they give you. Let us know how it goes. -
Does anyone know where I can get replacement case screws?
I've got a 12-inch PowerBook 867MHz that I've had for 3.5 years, so there's no more AppleCare on it.
My Hard Drive just died on it, and in the process of getting into the case to replace the drive, I discovered that the screw under the F11/F12 key was seized and ended up stripping the head of it while I was trying to remove it.
So, I've got two problems now:
1. Does anyone have any ideas of how to remove the screw?
2. Does anyone know where/how to get replacement screws for a 12-inch PowerBook?
