http://forums.adobe.com/message/1636890 warns about buying from eBay... but, for Premiere 5 from a seller with good reviews, I personally would not worry much about buying P5 on eBay due to it being so old that a large scale pirate is likely not going to bother with setting up a production run to make fakes that look like the real thing

After re-installing Win 7 64 on my computer, and attempting to install my copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements, I now get the following message: "This version of Photoshop Elements requires MS Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher to be installed". Does anyone have an idea of what the problem is? It has always worked in the past.
I have found a temporary solution, allowing the previous version of iTunes (v. 11.1.3 (x64) in my case) to be re-installed. It will allow you to re-establish use of iTunes until the Apple software engineers fix the most recent disasterous upgrade (v. 11.1.4). I just loaded Yosemite on my Mac and now adobe flash won't work in Safari 8.0.4 . Does anyone have a solution ?
If you can't install or update Flash, follow these instructions.
If you have installed the latest version of Flash, please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test.
For a "blocked plug-in" error, see Step 4.
For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 8.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Step 1
You might have to log out or restart the computer before a Flash update takes effect.
Step 2
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Close the window. Then select
▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced ▹ Delete All...
In the sheet that opens, check the box marked
Delete All Site Data and Settings
then click Delete Data. Close the preference pane.

If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, log in to YouTube and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.

a. If you get a warning of a "blocked" or "outdated" plug-in, then select the Security tab in the Safari preferences window. In the list of plugins on the left, there should be one—and only one—entry for "Adobe Flash Player," showing the same version number that you installed. Select that entry. Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
Step 8
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
Then click the button marked
Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.

Select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them. -
While saving a file, I have converted all my files to Pdf. This made everything inaccessible, even Explorer. I had to delete Adobe to get back to some of the previous files. I tried to restore system to previous, but I kept getting a pop up message that said I did not have enough shadow space. Does anyone have a solution? Greatly appreciate your help.

I recently bought, from the original website of Adobe, Photoshop elements 13. However, when I go with my mouse pointer over the menu, It hangs or he works very slow. Does anyone have an idea how I can fix it? I have already downloaded updates, both from Adobe and Windows. I have a new pc with window 8.1.
It could be a coincidence, but I rebooted the machine and (knock on wood) PSE13 seems to be working ok.

I have installed a trial of Adobe illustrator on my macbook pro. It is the 2014 release of adobe illustrator. I want to trace an image using the custom trace button.
I start a new document. Then I place my scanned pencil/colored pencil drawing, in to the document. I have tried scanning and then placing it as a jpeg, bitmap, and tiff file. I have tried scanning and then placing it, in color and in black and white. The scan mode I use is flatbed. Adobe illustrator allows me to select the default button and one of eleven preset buttons (e.g high fidelity photo), but it does not allow me to click the custom trace button. The custom trace button is grey while all the other buttons are white.
Does anyone have any ideas how I could custom trace?It seems pointless to adjust it afterwards because it is then only a couple a pencil lines rather then a full drawing. And how do I adjust it afterwards? Would I do this using the different buttons under the window button?

I've been in an administrative job at my university, in which I needed to be able to access lots of past email conversations. I ended up saving *everything* religiously, by copying each email or conversation into an "On My Mac" folder on either my home or office machine, flagging it as copied, then unflagging it and moving it to a like folder on the other machine. As a result I'v now got a trillion folders for various aspects of my job, filled with quite a few messages that I probably no longer even need, but they're way too many to go through and delete one by one. Unfortunately, I haven't made much use of the iCloud folders, but I'm so tired of having to essentially manually sync my stored mail in the manner I just described, that I'm thinking of starting to file everything to iCloud folders. The downside of that is that obviously if the internet is down and a given folder wasn't refreshed before it went down, I won't have access to the saved mail.
Moreover, I'm about to step down from the admin post -- within about 6 months a lot of what I saved won't be needed at all, and going forward, I won't need to save nearly the same quantity of messages for later reference. I'd like to come up with some viable "triage" strategies for limiting the mail I do save.
This is really just an open question: Does anyone have any good mail filing and storage techniques that you'd be willing to share? I'm especially interested in criteria you use for what you save and don't save, and where/how you save it.Well, the one set up on exchange 2k3 is now working fine, although no changes were made on either the iPhone or the exchange side, so that's fun, but it still is throwing errors when connecting to the other 2 exchange accounts. The common elements are that both non-functioning exchange accounts are google apps for business accounts. So is one of the ones that's working, by the way. The settings on both accounts are the same as the one that's working, and both worked fine before the 8.3 upgrade. I have no issue accessing both of these accounts on my ipad which is currently on 8.2.x. If it's not the iphone OS at fault, I'm at a loss as to what it could be.

I have a new laptop and I am trying to download CS3. The site on adobe gives an error message and the one I tried from this forum downloaded CS3 extended, so my serial number does not work. Does anyone have any suggestions. Regards VickiThe trial is always extended. The serial number you enter determines whether it runs as standard or extended.

"Adobe Reader Expected a Dict Object Error." Does Anyone Have a Solution?
With the latest versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader XI and Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 7 Professional 32-bit Service Pack1, we are having issues trying to open a machine manual PDF within the web browser. The web page is hosted locally with an Apache web server. Once we click link to the manual, the PDF attempts to download, but then we are prompted with an Adobe Reader "Expected a dict object. http: // localhost/Help/ait.pdf" information dialog box. The PDF then fails to load. Sometimes however it will load successfully without any issues. The PDF is roughly 34MB in size.
We have tried other web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, and Opera) and they do not appear to have this issue. What could be causing this problem? Does anyone have a solution for this? Please let us know.Did you ever find the answer to this problem?? I am having the same problem with

I cannot see my Iphone 4 in my device window in the finder anymore. It use to appear so I could copy the camera pictures off of it and transfer them to other folders. Does anyone have and idea how to get it back when you plug it in initially. Thanks
You will want to open iPhoto, go to the iPhoto menu and select Preferences. Under the General tab, next to Connecting camera opens: select iPhoto. Close the preferences and quit iPhoto. Reconnect your iPhone 4. iPhoto should open automatically and offer to import your pictures. Import them and then do what you want with them.

Does anyone have more information on the virus disguised as adobe flashplayer that was released last Thursday 5 Apr 12. Can you simply use time machine to reload the entire system from backup to make sure you don't have the virus.

The computer security industry buzzed Thursday with warnings that more than a half-million Macintosh computers may have been infected with a virus targeting Apple machines.
Flashback Trojan malware tailored to slip past "Mac" defenses is a variation on viruses typically aimed at personal computers (PCs) powered by Microsoft's Windows operating systems.
The infections, spotted "in the wild" by Finland-based computer security firm F-Secure and then quantified by Russian anti-virus program vendor Dr. Web, come as hackers increasingly take aim at Apple computers.
"All the stuff the bad guys have learned for doing attacks in the PC world is now starting to transition to the Mac world," McAfee Labs director of threat intelligence Dave Marcus told AFP.
"Mac has said for a long time that they are not vulnerable to PC malware, which is true; they are vulnerable to Mac malware."
Dr. Web determined that more than 600,000 Mac computers may be infected with Flashback, which is designed to let hackers steal potentially valuable information such as passwords or financial account numbers.
Hackers trick Mac users into downloading the virus by disguising it as an update to Adobe Flash video viewing software.
Apple has long boasted that Windows machines are more prone to hacking than Macs.
Computer security specialists contend that the reason for the disparity was that since most of the world's computers were powered by Windows, hackers focused on systems that promised the most prey.
As the popularity of Macs has soared, so has the allure of hacking Apple operating systems, according to Marcus.
"There has been a significant increase in Mac malware in the last several quarters, so what we've seen with the Flashback Trojan isn't particularly surprising," Marcus said.
"Cybercriminals will attack any operating system with valuable information, and as the popularity of Macs increase, so will attacks on the Mac platform."
Computer users, no matter their operating systems of choice, need to protect machines with tactics including up-to-date anti-virus programs and avoiding risky habits such as opening files or clicking links from unknown sources. -

In short, NO.
I was hoping that the 7.4.1 update would allow it to work, but it has caused more problems than it is worth.If you do actually get it to work you will see the TC in finder (under Shared) when connected to the internet outside of your home network. What I have found though is that the 7.4.1 firmware update has made using the internet at home almost impossible.
I have tried Hamachi but it is not reliable.
I have settled with Dropbox so my files are synced between my home machine and laptop. -
I copied several MOV files to a CD. When I play them from the CD the video is fine but the audio works fine for the first few seconds then stops (using Qicktime Player 7.7.1. Everything works fine if I use VLC Media Player. Does anyone have any idea why?
My purpose for copying to a CD or DVD is so that I can make copies and send to friends and relatives. What is the best way to get these files on a CD/DVD with the right codecs?
The easiest thing to do is to simply tell your friends and relatives to copy the files to their local hard drive before playing them. Your basic problem is that data discs have a limited real time transfer rate. Since you say VLC plays the files fine, I might suspect its player is likely buffering the data while the QT 7 Player is not.
Data discs made for playback directly from the CD or DVD are normally encoded using MPEG-4/AVC (H.264) video with AAC audio. This is a modern codec which has specific settings to re-package the data (i.e., must be encoded using the multipass option and then select the "optimize for CD/DVD" option). -

Hmm, "Use Adobe Reader" should launch the PDF outside of Firefox in the stand-alone Adobe Reader application, so seeing it in a tab is something of a puzzle.
Could you check your version of Adobe Reader? For Windows 7, you normally would have the Reader XI series (Reader 11), which has had several updates. From inside Adobe Reader, you can use Help > Check for Updates to make sure it's current.
In Firefox, could you check your Adobe Acrobat plugin version or possibly versions? You can view that on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. If you find multiple versions, this can cause problems and may need to be cleaned up manually (post back on that for suggestions).
Sometimes, the settings file which stores those download handler preferences becomes corrupted and there's not much else to do than to rename or remove that file and let Firefox rebuild it.
To do that, open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using either
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
* (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
* type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
In the first table on the page, click the "Show Folder" button. This will launch a new window (Windows Explorer window) listing various settings files.
Leaving that window open, switch back to Firefox and Exit, either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "power" button
* (menu bar) File > Exit
Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename '''mimeTypes.rdf''' to something like mimeTypes.old
Start Firefox back up again and "PDF Files" should be back to their default setting of "Preview in Firefox". Try changing that to "Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox)" and test to see whether there's any improvement. -
have a copy of Adobe 8 pro move it from my old laptop to the new an it said an serial number invalid i talked with someone was refered to life chat, nothing they could do, now im here, i ont thing i should have to purchase new, has anyone had the same issues and how did you get it fixed or are you in the same boat.
