Does anyone how to connect the iphone5 to an audio receiver

Does anyone know why I can connect my ipod to my receiver using the rca cables and the headphone adapter, yet I cannot do the same thing for the iphone 5? I have confirmed that the iphone 5 works fine when listening via headphones or simply using the phone's external speaker. Maybe I need a special cord? Did something change between the old apple products and the new iphone 5? Thanks in advance.

I use a pre iPhone 5 Bose headphones with a normal 3.5mm jack plug on my 5
and works perfectly so there is no mechanical reason why your cable doesn't work
As kappy says any 3.5mm stereo jack plug will work

I think you should probably also read the iPad User Guide. You didn't say what version of iOS your iPad is running, so here's the links to both the iOS 6 and iOS 7 (PDF) versions:

Apple discontinued iWeb. That's the case for over a year now.
Topics in this forum will tell you that in order to install iWeb you have to find a copy at eBay, Amazon and similar places.

Hi,
Fingerprint scanners are not popular enough devices to be supported by Java yet. There's no general API or Java interface for it.
Each manufacturer of a fingerprint device will probably just ship their own drivers or SDKs. More than likely DLL's, so you'd need to write some JNI to call them.
If you want to allow your application to work with multiple devices, you will have to design it to do that. Ie. write a general "Fingerprint" interface, and write a class which implements that interface for each device you want to support.
Eg.

If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
For all other non purchased music (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.

As you haven't told us who your email provider is, no.
There isn't an SMTP server for Greece - it is either provided by your email provider, or the Internet provider you are connected through.

Does anyone else think that the AppleMac group of products are marketed in a greedy way? I have MacBook Pro 10.5.8 and am now told that I have to upgrade to Snow Leopard to sync my new iPad. Of course there isn't enough memory on the MacBook? I'm angry!

Of course there isn't enough memory on the MacBook and Snow Leopard costs more also? I don't have financial resources to pay for all the new memory requirement and related upgrades they say I need just to sync my iPad with my purchases.

Thanks for the reply but I already knew this. $20 for Snow Leopard which asks for 5gb free memory. I can only see that I have 4 gb (which I feel is rather a pathetic amount of available memory for any computer). To upgrade this computer's memory will cost another fee (I haven't researched this yet but gather it's more than $20). Then of course I could also be told that the OSX Mackbook Pro that I have can't be memory upgraded - which means I'm being told to buy a new computer - hence my very frustrated last email. I have been given a lovely iPad 2 as a present and now can't sync at all with anything because of this ongoing upgrade nightmare. Does anyone have experience connecting Phonak Compilot Base station to AppleTV? AppleTV only has digital audio output and the base station only has a single RCA I/P audio connector.. I already have DirectTV and the BluRay player connected (on individual RCA I/P cables) and these work fine..

You would need to look for a DAC and go through the optical port on the device.

YES! See the my old instructions below. What you might try after step 5 is to restart you MBP holding down the Option key. Select the new HDD icon and see if it boots. This way you will know that the new HDD is operable.

INSTALLING A NEW HDD IN A MB
1. Make certain that you have backed up all of your important data.
2. You will need a HDD enclosure. One with a USB connection will do. A 9 pin Firewire is better.
3. Install your new drive in the enclosure and connect it to your MBP.
4. Open DISK UTILITY>ERASE. From the left hand column drag the new drive into the 'Name' field. Make sure that the format is 'Mac OS Extended (Journaled)'. Click on the 'Erase' button.
5. Click on the 'Restore' button (on top). Drag the old drive into the 'Source' field and the new drive into the 'Destination' field. Click on the 'Restore' button on the bottom right hand corner.
Depending upon the amount of data you are transferring, this may take a couple hours or more. A Firewire will speed up the transfer. This will result in both drives having identical information on them.
6. After the data transfer has completed, you may swap the drives. Start the MBP and you have finished the installation. The initial boot may take a bit longer than you are accustomed to, but that is normal.
7. When you are satisfied that the new hard drive if functioning properly, you can erase the old drive and use it for any needs that you may have.

My hobby is making music, so does anyone know yet if the new iPad (3rd generation) will support a USB microphone plugged into Garageband via iPad's USB Camera Adapter? I am hoping to use such a portable setup to record live performances of voice & acoustic instrument.

When in doubt, try it out. I bought the Apple camera connection kit & used it to connect my Blue Snowball usb mic to my new iPad 3rd generation. It works just fine. I made some test recordings in GarageBand on my iPad 3 using my Snowball mic. They sound great.
