Does anyone in apple care about UK maps

I have been trying since apple released to help improve the map information but so far I feel Apple just doesn't care if the basic data is wrong, especially outside the US. You dont get recognition your reports have even been sent!  My Village is listed as a diferent village and so nothing works in this area for searches etc. Poor show really.

  • Does anyone at BT care about its customers?

Hopefully someone from BT reads this forum because they don't seem able to read any e-mails sent to them. I reported a phone line fault on weds 10 Nov. Had Broadband but no phone. Reported a line fault on Weds 10 Nov.
07.00 Thurs 11 Nov received e-mail from BT ...line problem fixed. Was it? Well my phone still wasn't working
Went through all the online checks...all was ok on BT line...BT conclusion......my equipment was not working
Bought new phone that day......came home.....plugged it in......GUESS WHAT BT.......no difference
Reported the same fault again.....thurs evening...Have heard nothing from them since except from fault tracking.....says its ongoing.
How can it be ongoing? You have said that it was fixed!!!!!!!
I'm well prepared to air this in public with BT. I have bought a new phone because you said my line was fixed.  Your web site said my equipment was faulty. Since telling me my line was fixed I have also had to use my mobile phone in the evenings and this weekend.
So will you repay me for my mobile phone use and a new phone?...somehow I doubt it. Having recently tied me into a new 18 month contract for BT Infinity I'm paying as always. Why can't you deliver?
As always when my next bill arrives you will want paying on time ( which I have always done). Shame on you for not delivering service on time.
Reading this forum it seems other people have had the same problem.
Maybe someone with nuts from BT will give me (and others here) an e-mail address so that this type of problem can be resolved faster than it is at the moment. Of course we are only your customers who pay the bills. Think about it BT!!!
I would ask for someone's contaqct details  at BT that can take action to resolve this. But my BT line doesn't work and to call you would cost me on my mobile. I would only get through to your call centre in India anyway. Sorry BT but my understanding of Indian/English isn't that good nor is your call centre in India.

  • I've preordered my iPhone 5 from apple and tried to get a sim from o2, they said I couldn't preorder. Does anyone have any information about this?

I've preordered my iPhone 5 from apple and tried to get a sim from o2, they said I couldn't preorder. Does anyone have any information about this?

    Ethmoid,
Generally buying on contract or buying outright from apple with a separate sim from a provider is little difference in cost.
Work out the total cost over 24 months for the phone+monthly tarrif and you will see.
Also the contracts where the phone is cheapest but have a higher monthly cost tend to be the ones that cost you move over a 24 month period.
    For example;
    Using O2 UK as an example (other carriers are very similar). For the iPhone 5 64GB;
From Apple £699, plus O2 On & On £20 per month is £1179
From O2, Phone £249, per month, £41. Total over 24 months is £1,233
From O2, Phone £169, per month, £46. Total over 24 months is £1,273
From O2, Phone £69.99, per month, £63. Total over 24 months is £1,581  <Cheapest phone, most expensive
*These all use the same tarrif of unlimited talk, texts and 1GB data. The only difference is how much you want to pay upfront for the phone*
Also worth noting is buying the phone from apple and the O2 tarrif is only a 12 month tarrif so you're not locked in for 24 months.
As you can see, the cheaper the phone, the more the overall amount you pay.

  • Does anyone from Apple actually read these pages?

I have browsed this forum and hardly anyone has their questions answered. Does anyone in Apple read these pages? Come on Apple, listen to your customers and answer their questions.

Google "Apple phone number". Choose the correct number and call it.
If you have purchased an iPod you get one free support call - unless you buy the Apple Care extended plan, in which case you get calls for 2 years.
If you have not purchased an ipod, they will bill you, since iTunes is a free program, and they are not in the business of troubleshooting Windows systems.
Hope that makes sense. The Firefox browser is free and there's no phone number to call on that either, to make a comparison.

  • Hello i am new to the HP forum and have a lot of questions. does anyone know a lot about computers

hello all, I am new to this forum and hope to find some help. I have a HP pavillion thats about 2 years old and having a bunch of minor issues and trying to find someone that can help. when i had HP warranty they seemed to do more damage than good. my computer starts up in selective mode always and I dont know much about booting and safe boot. I tried doing a system restore but it starts and will go for days without ever completing, so thats one issue. also I have alot running at startup and not sure what to disable and when i do disable it its still there after a restart. does anyone know a lot about PCs and can help me. I would greatly appreciate it.

    1.  yes.  there's no one place to find out how to do that.  you'll need to learn how to use flash software.  it's mature software with many features and there's no shortcut to learning how to use it.  it would be a surprise if you could build a decent game with those specs in less than 100 hours working with flash.
    2.  insignificant issue.
    3.  for someone unfamiliar with porting flash apps to iOS apps, no.

  • Does anyone from Apple ever look at these posts?

Logically speaking it's difficult to assume that all these problems with SL and the peripheral devices attached to them can be blamed on the user. I'll allow for some to be the fault of the user but not the majority.Especially when the problems are so similar.
Does anyone from Apple check this site or is it just a grip sheet provided by them?
Having been a pc user up until a couple of years ago SL is beginning to make me feel like I'm back on a pc. Not good!!

Does anyone from Apple check this site
Yes, but they rarely post. Click here for more information.

  • HT3302 Does the extended apple care cover water damage to the iphone?

Does the extended apple care cover water damage to the iphone?

If you have AppleCare+, Apple will replace the iPhone for the "deductable", which in the US is $49. If you have the standard AppleCare plan, then accidental damage is not covered and you will have to pay Apple's out-of-warranty price for replacement. See:

  • Does anyone from Apple ever visit here?

I'll be honest - I really like Keynote but I've been having some issues with making a slideshow (with music) into a DVD (the music disappears).
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7235122#7235122
After 3 days I was hoping that somebody might have at least made a suggestion.
So back to my question - if Apple sell and promote this product then it would really help us users solve problems if one of their 'experts' spent a bit of time helping out here. Now I'm not stupid around Mac's, I've been using them for over 15 years, and I've been using Powerpoint for a similar length of time. If Keynote was a Microsoft product then I would expect to have loads for problems, but this is Mac software - it should be easy!
Does anyone else have an opinion?

No, no nerves touched. I was simply trying to provide you with some interim sources of information until someone was able to answer your question. Since you did not state what steps you'd already taken to find an answer I tried to give you some alternative sources. When you post a question it makes sense to let us know what you've already done to find an answer otherwise we will tell you stuff you may already know because we don't know what you've done.
As I stated if someone has an answer for you (and reads your post) then they will surely post a reply. But the Discussions are not a direct link to any Apple provided product support. These are strictly user-to-user discussions. If nobody has given you a definitive answer perhaps it's because nobody knows the answer or hasn't ready your post or you've posted in the wrong forum or as is likely the case for your topic the subject is unrelated to the problem for which you are seeking help - consider a more relevant topic subject.
Frankly, from your topic subject I had no idea what you were looking for because it conveyed only that you had something to complain about regarding why no Apple specialists were around. Until I read the post I didn't know you wanted help with Keynote. If I had I probably wouldn't have read your post because I have no expertise with Keynote.
If you understand the purpose of the Discussions and post a clear and well stated problem with an appropriate subject in the appropriate forum then you have a much greater likelihood of getting a relevant reply.

  • HDD User Upgradeable... But does it void Apple Care?

I've got a MacBook on the way and I'm already thinking about upgrading the stock 60GB 5400RPM HDD with a 100GB 7200 one (as Apple doesn't offer any 7200 RPM drives with the MacBook).
Coming from an iBook, which is possibly the least easy to upgrade HDD I've ever seen, the MacBook's HDD bay is about as "user upgradeable" as I've ever seen. Does Apple support this?
If I upgrade the hard drive,
    1. Will it void Apple Care (which I also just paid for)?
    2. Will I need to hold onto the original drive in the event I ever need service (or "will Apple refuse to service the machine if it has some third party drive in there")

#2 might be a good idea, just to be sure...
However, if you read the text of the warranty here:
    http://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/hardware.html
and do a quick search, you will see that the word 'void' NEVER appears. In other words, nothing you do will ever void or cancel your warranty entirely. But, they can still refuse to fix things that you happen to break, and I'm sure they wouldn't replace your 100GB hard drive if it were to die
As far as I can tell, even if you take a sledgehammer to the screen and go to the apple store and say "hey, I hit my screen with a sledgehammer, can you guys fix it under warranty?" they'll say "heck no, you have to pay for it" but your warranty will still exist for other parts of the machine, and once you get the screen replace it will cover the screen again...

  • Does anyone from Apple read these forums?

If a representative from Apple would read these posts, doesn't it seem like all of us who are having the same problem (the iPod Mini not being recognized by iTunes 6.0.1) would have been fixed already? Check out the number of posts that ALL have to do with this same issue - going back at least a month. This HAS to be related to the most recent software version. Does anyone know of a way (other than calling customer support and being charged for the call) to contact Apple and let them know there is a widespread problem with the iPod Mini and the most recent version of iTunes?

I can't seem to get iTunes up and running on my PC and am not getting any reply - I get the strange message "The folder iTunes can not be found or created and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the My Music folder. From what I can tell it is there but am unable to get things connected and running even after a de-install / re-install of the software. Getting frustated now - anybody out there with a suggestion?

  • Does anyone insure Apple products against breakdown after applecare has expired?

I have an iMac which is over 3 years old. I cant pay for any extended warranties though Apple any longer.
Does anyone know of anyone I can insure it with against hardware faliure? Its good to have the piece of mind that if the HDD fails or the LCD fails etc, not through accidental breakage which I have on my house insurance, but to cover me it just stops working one day?

There are some aftermarket service plans that can be obtained for computers now out of warranty, but in my past investigations of them I've found that the limitations on coverage and frequent hassles of obtaining reimbursement for repairs have not made such plans worthwhile. Some such plans also require that you purchase while the system is still in warranty and hence would not be available to you now (the plans from SquareTrade, for instance).
But perhaps someone else here will know of a plan that's good.
    Regards.
