Does anyone know a way to modify "Default Settings" printer preset?

I use enough different presets that I find that the "Last Used" preset for printing if often what not what I really want.
(Background: I save a number of different profiles for different types of print jobs, so that I can select "Color Production" as a preset, for example, and get a number of printer settings configured as once, like Color Settings, Quality, Color, and duplexing. These are set and selected using the "Presets" picker in the Print dialog box. One can use the picker to save and view settings as well.)
Am I correct in that there doesn't seem to be a way to change the "Default Settings" preset? The "Show Presets" pick in Presets doesn't offer the ability to change the presets, and the "Default Settings" preset can't be deleted here, unlike the user set presets; it also isn't possible to save a preset as "Default Settings".
Ideally, changing the default would let me check the box to always use the default (as default), but this way I would have my own defaults. Just wondering whether I'm missing something obvious - I've tried the modifier keys trick clicking on things, and also the CUPS subsystem at localhost:631.

Does anyone know their way around the audio settings and audio cables?

I need some help setting up some audio settings for my Ps4 in a weird way. What I want to do is what CBarner89 does on twitch. If you havnt seen him stream from his Ps4 he has his decks hooked up to his stream directly channeling the audio in to the stream. I asked around on the stream about how to do it the only reply I've had is that I should plug the RCA connection from my decks in to my controller with the aux input. Howerever when I do this there is no option in the audio settings to set the input to come from my decks. But when I plug in a pair of headphones I have that also have a mic for answering calls the option to set it my controller as an audio input is highlighted. And then I can set my controller as the main audio input. I noticed that on the RCA cables I have for my decks have 2 black lines on the actual gold part that you insert and my headphones that have a mic has 3 black lines is this something to do with it?

Unfortunately I could get neither of these to work, probably because of my own ineptitude.
I couldn't get VLC to output from Spotify, this could be my own fault.
I also couldn't make Airplay play with OS X 10.3.9.
I did however find a messy workaround.
I am currently using Airfoil on my main Desktop to output Spotify and then am receiving it on Airfoil Speaker on my iPhone, which is in turn connected to my 10.3.9 iMacs audio input via a 3.5mm Jack.
You need to download an app called LineIn for 10.3 (http://www.rogueamoeba.com/legacy/) to play the sound from the input from the built in speakers.
To be fair it's not that messy it just requires you to have a device that can have Airfoil Speakers installed on it and have a 3.5mm Jack.

Yes this is pretty rubbish, I have a presentation that we use to run the whole of an 'Oscars' like ceremony for our company which is attended by over 200 branches and hundreds of people, we use animated backgrounds which loop and look really professional, but due to lag and pauses while the next slide loads we have layered these one on top of another in a single master slide, after the first fixed animation runs it fade mixes through to the looping slide beneath it which looks great and means there is no lag in music or movie animation.
Now that they have removed animation from the master slides this doesn't work any more so we have had to restore back to the old version of keynote and all works like a dream again, how silly is it when upgrades end up as downgrades!
Thank goodness I had plenty of backups or this would have been a disaster as our conference apporaches in March!

Hello, The Hatter, I read about the 'trick' of backing up, erasing, and restoring too, but I figured it would take longer than defragmenting the disk.
But the defragmentation process has just finished! so I'm gonna try to run Boot Camp again soon!

And P.S. I didn't clone my system onto the external drive, I just inserted the Mac OS X Install CD, rebooted holding down the "C" key, and installed a fresh Snow Leopard system onto the predetermined partition. I will use that in cases of emergency, when my main/internal system becomes unusable.

I have a similar problem with at least two songs that I know of, one is an iTunes download (encrypted) the other was imported from a CD using iTunes (no encryption). Both songs play 2-3 seconds then immediately go to the next song. The "weird" thing -- I plugged my iPod into my new MacBook which has no songs other than what are on my iPod (i.e., not playing the song from another source) and both songs play fine. Unplug the iPod from the computer, plug in headphones and the songs skip again.
I've gone through the 5 R's as well, with no luck.

I had not used the iCould version. I just fired it up. So far I don't know how to click to make a reference to another sheet but the syntax for sheet and table names when typing them in is a little different. If there is a space character in the name, you have to put single quotes around the name.

We are trying to consult to one of our clients that using SAP/r3 with Oracle 10.2 DB.
The client has a team of 4 DBAs, and the entire team members are using the username <SAPSID>adm in order to login to the DB and conduct changes and other operations.
We believe this is the wrong way to handle the login authorizations, and we think that each DBA has to have his own user name in order to enable audit trail. The client's IT team manager claims they don't know how to create personal user names with the authorization level of the <SAPSID>adm, and they must use this user name for their needs and operations.
Does anyone know a way to replicate the <SAPSID>adm user authorizations to some other DB admin user name so they will enable audit trail for each team member?

You can create any number of users have authorizations similar to sidadm user but I don't think it will serve the purpose because of the way the things are designed to be maintained in SAP.
However, you can utilize an alternative. Create individual OS IDs for each person who has to log on to OS. Assign 'sudo' access to these individual IDs to logon to 'sidadm' and 'orasid'.

You're welcome.
But, no, don't look to Epson for fixes to their driver in newer versions, and Adobe has deprecated the TWAIN plug-in. Hoping for a solution there is futile. That has not happened and it's never going to happen. The consensus is that it's pretty foolish to tie up Photoshop to scan. Honestly.
Any improvement in the behavior of newer versions of the Epson drivers in that regard would be pure coincidence.
You need to understand that you never, ever scan "within" Photoshop, as Photoshop has no scanning capabilities whatsoever. When you use the Import > Twain plug-in all you are doing is blocking Photoshop while you call up the stand-alone Epson scanning software. If you think about it, its most inefficient.
VueScan has a pretty powerful scanning plug-in that can be called from the Impost menu—if you insist. VueScan is not free, but it's a pretty good value, IMO.
As for the Epson CD printing software, I have no clue. Sorry.

okay so youll go to the weather app. you'll click on the bottom right corner icon that looks like three lines. you'll type in your correct citys zip code or just the city whatever you decide. thats how you add the new one, now to get rid of the wrong one. if you swipe to the left on the incorrect city in the same screen where it shows all of your cities, it will give you the option to delete it (the same way as if you were deleting almost anything in ios7) I hope this makes sense!! feel free to reply for any questions or screen shots!!

Is there a way i can make my primary key updatable in a tabular form.
I have two tables one called proposal details and one called student current details. Bascially you select one of your proposal details to become your current project this is done via the proposal id. The problem is that i cannot make this field editable in a tabular form. Does anyone know how i could make this primary key updatable?

Hi Dan,
One suggestion, perhaps, would be to base the tabular form on a View rather than directly off of the table. The view could include two instances of the proposal id field - the actual field and a second field called, say, PROPOSAL_ID_EDITABLE. You can then use an INSTEAD OF trigger on the view to update the actual table data with the value entered/selected in this second field.
The reason why Apex will stop you updating primary keys is that it needs to be able to use these to get back to the original record to apply any changes. If you use a view instead, ensure that the primary key fields are not editable but allow the user to change a dummy field instead, the pk fields are available for Apex to get back to the data but the trigger will change the value instead.

Working with numerous Apple Pages documents at the same time, I am looking for an efficient solution to switch faster from one document to the other. Integrating all them in a single framework, for exemple by switching from one to the other with a system of tabs would be of great help. Does anyone knows if such a possibility exists?

You're very welcome but Peggy really gave you the answer already.
With regard to the full screen apps, I don't think Apple have yet worked out how to make them elegantly coexist with other apps. The closest you can get is the four finger swipe gestures you may use on a trackpad if you have one (Mission Control and App Exposé).
In fact nowadays I use the App Exposé (four finger swipe down gesture) more often than I use Command-Accent to move between documents in the same app (when not in full screen). It also as the advantage of showing you thumbnails of recently opened documents below the ones already open within the app. If you haven't tried it, I suggest you give it a whirl.
I can't remember now but I think the four finger gestures are not enabled by default and you must switch them on in System Preferences > Trackpad > More Gestures.

I bought my mac used and was told by the seller to take my mac to apple to have them restore it. I bought snow leopard but my mac will not install it. I am thinking that if I go back to factory settings everything will work again on here. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Then, follow these steps:
1. Insert the Mac OS X disc and hold the C key while your computer is starting.
2. Select the language, go to Utilities menu > Disk Utility, choose your hard disk at the top of the sidebar, go to Erase tab and erase the drive.
3. Close Disk Utility and reinstall Mac OS X.
After doing that, open  > Software Update, and install the most recent version. Finally, you should be able to upgrade to Snow Leopard, only if you are using 10.4 or 10.5. To check the Mac OS X version, open  > About this Mac

Does anyone know a way to stream audio from Snow Leopard to a PPC running Panther?

I have recently aquired a iMac PPC, I've freshly installed Panther on it and it runs a treat. I was wondering however if there is a way to stream audio from my main Desktop, a 2007 iMac running Snow Leopard. iTunes library share isn't a solution either as I use Spotify a my main source of music and unfortunetly it is no longer supported for PPC's.

Have amny teachers who would like to use ipad apps on the smart board. However as there is no USB port there is no way to connect the ipad to the smart board and have it be interactive.
