Hi all,
I 've got a simple image which has buildings,roads and grass areas. The image is currently in greyscale, and is basically a 400 by 700 text file full of interger values each representing a different land class - i.e. buildings have a value of 200, roads = 100 and grass areas = 60.
does anyone know how to get the image from a grayscale image to a colour image?

sure you can convert it to color image, but you must define what color convertion do you like.

You need to create a pdf file of the document to print using CreateSpace. Check their size requirements and set up your document to fit those, make sure your cover has the correct bleed if the cover image goes "off the edge", and work your way through the guided system on CreateSpace. If you know someone who has done a book there, they might be able to help you, too. I will be doing a book from an author who used Pages soon, too, and though I use InDesign, he does not. I don't anticipate any problems with it, as a pdf is a file structure with which CreateSpace is familiar.
You can also use their more tutorial-like set-up, too, perhaps, at least the first time through the process. I typically help first-time users through the process when I've helped create their books, too. It's mostly straight-forward, minus the upload problem I'm currently dealing with with my computer, of course! -
Does anyone know how to convert an XML file to a readable file?

I have been using an APP called "SMS Backup & Restore" to backup my message conversations to my Laptop PC. It works fine BUT the backup file, once in my PC, has an XML extent such as "filename.XML"
I would like to read and/or print and/or save the text message file so does anyone know how to convert the XML file to something else so it shows all the messages without all the formatting instructions.
When I try to see the XML file it shows all the formatting. If I replace the .XML with .TXT that too shows all the formatting mixed in with the text message narrative.
When I look at the XML file in SMS Backup & Restore in the Charge phone it looks great showing all the messages just as they were on the phones display. The problem with this is that there is no way to print or read or save the messages as they appear in the file from the phone itself. I tried screen capture but if you have, let's say, a 28 message conversation you have to do 7 or 8 screen captures to get them all.
If only I could convert the XML in my PC to something that is printable or savable or readable that would be the "cats meow."
Anyone know how???

You were correct again. I deleted everything I had done to date and re-did the entire SMS backup of my 28 message conversation again and YES I was able to open it using IE-8. It looks great and it prints great and life is good! I am going to go make a donation.

I purchased a TV series from iTunes and downloaded the HD version. I then copied it to a backup drive so I could plug it in to my DVD player to watch. This would not work. Does anyone know how to convert the files so they are watchable on TV rather than on my MacBook?
Video in the new iOS is under the application Videos. You should be able to find things there.

since it a standard report which you cannot modify you can only do the following.
submit report exporting list to memory
then
list from memory and then
use the returned itab along with CALL TRNSFORMATION key word to convert to xml.
but this only going to place the whole list content (including data and formating lines,etc) into a xml element and not the actual data alone in the list . -

ThanksI tried to give an answer with less steps. I know it's a Pages file & all you have to do is select & copy the content in your Pages file & then open Preview.app. Next time I'll include the exporting to PDF & opening that in Preview.app or in Pages go to File > Print > click on the PDF button in the lower left of the print window & choose Open in Preview.

I have a flat file of 200 recipes in Filemaker. It is searchable and prints the recipes on 4x6 cards.
How can I get the same funtionality without getting an expensive new version of FM that runs on Lion?In order to password protect files or folders, you need to create an encrypted disk image. Then what ever is copied to the disk image will be protected.

Does anyone know how to save / preserve image maps when updating graphics?
Hello all,
I'm currently working on a RH7 HTML project, which I've designed to be used in support of a software application.
Some of the application's dialogue boxes have quite complex multi-tabbed GUIs, so when it comes to describing their functionality, you often end up with a long list below the graphic image. What this means of course, is that the user is forever scrolling up and down to make reference between the GUI and the explanatory text.
I hit upon an idea I'd used previously, whereby I created popups to multiple image map hotspots. It works like a dream and the client and users really like the concept - but there's a snag (apparently).
Because the application is still in development. some of those GUIs are (and will continue to) change. No problem with that either - until I try and insert the updated graphic. Poof !! All my hotspots disappear . . .
Surely I'm not alone in trying this approach and there must be some way of preserving the hotspots?
Any suggestions?

It sounds like you are using the standard methods of inserting an image. Don't do that!
All you need to do in these cases is to use Windows Explorer to save the updated image using the same file name and replacing the former image. When you do this your other data will remain intact. If the new image is a different size, just right-click it inside the RoboHelp HTML editor and choose Reset Size. You also may need to tweak your hotspots if things shifted some.

Does anyone know how to display (in LabVIEW) the memory use during execution of an image and data acquisition VI to predict when it is time to cease the acquisition to prevent the program crashing?
I am acquiring images and data to a buffer on the edge of the while loop, and am finding that the crashing of the program is unpredictable, but almost always due to a memory saturation when the buffers gets too big.
I have attached the VI.

Does anyone know how to remove images from google

If you are talking about some "Karaoke" method using Logic I'll try to offer one. Before that I must say that most of the Karaoke methods are based on reversing the Phase of one of the stereo channel and bussing or merging the stereo into Mono. The result is: killing all Pan Centered in the mix - like Main Vocal, Bass, Kick, SN ect.
The artifacts of the Stereo FX of the main vocal will stay in the Karaoke, cause the FX is stereo etc.
Here is the Logic Setup I can offer to try some Karaoke trick using Logic.
1. Import a Stereo mix into a Logic Stereo track.
2. Create another stereo track and duplicate (copy) the Original Mix region to the duplicated track.
3. Hard Pan L/R both stereo tracks.
4. Insert an EQ and Gainer plugins into the duplicated track (R).
5. Set the Output select of the both tracks to a Bus and assign the new Aux Track Switch mode to "Mono".
6. Open the Gainer plugin and thick the "Phase Invert" Right button.
7. To keep the "lowend" instruments like the bass and kick, open the EQ plugin and enable the Low Cut filter and try some Hz settings 80-115, or different Q which will sounds better for your Karaoke.

I was using photoshop CC as normal, when suddenly it started going haywire. It has corrupted all the open PSD files by distorting the images and colour. They are now completely unrecognisable and unusable. Does anyone know how to recover the original images as I was saving them as I went along but the files are now corrupt?
What version of Photoshop are you running?
I've seen a couple of instances over the last week or two where Photoshop has added masks, strange colours and also merged content from two separate PSD files that were open at the same time.
This has occurred on two different iMacs, (both 10.10.x) running Photoshop CC 2014.2.2 (20141204.r.310 x64).

I have not upgraded to Mountain Lion yet, have 3 major apps (acrobatpro) and adobe image ready, and apple works that is not compatible, does anyone know how long snow leopard will be supported. Don't want to upgrade until I purchase new iMac next year.
