Does anyone know how to import Now Contact cards to Address Book?

The issue is all of the ancillary information contained in a Now Contact card. Is there some way to map Now Contact onto Address Book cards? Perhaps some third party app?

AbSync is the only application I've ever seen that does this:

Otherwise, if memory serves, Now Contact did not support vCard, but would export in a tab-delimited format, which Address Book should be able to import.

I know the importance of saving and updating your contacts. What type of phone do you have? If you are using Backup Assistant, you have the ability to sync the contacts between your laptop and phone. You will also be able to see if all your contacts are stored on the online portion of the application versus the phone itself. The contacts should be the same for both online and the phone.

I have almost 1200 contacts in my Outlook, all of which were assigned to a Category, so I could look people up by that Category. Almost 900 of the Category assignments are now blank. Does anyone know how to assign a contact to a group on the iPhone?

I am a recent iPhone user. When I had my BlackBerry, you could see or assign the Category in each contact. I don't see that when I go to "edit" in a contact. I don't want to go through all my contacts and reassign the Category, and then have them wiped out again. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I'm not affiliated w/ the developer, just a happy user that gave up fighting the apple podcast app a while ago. I used to have a bunch of smart playlists in itunes for my podcasts, and come home every day and pathologically synced my phone as soon as I walked in the door, and again before I walked out the door in the morning.
Since my wife was doing this too, we were fighting over who's turn it was to sync their phone.
Since I've switched to Downcast, I no longer worry about syncing my phone to itunes at all. I can go weeks between syncs.
Setup a "playlist" in downcast (ex., "Commute") and add podcasts to that playlist. Add another playlist ("walk" or "workout") and add different podcasts to that one.
Set podcast priorities on a per-feed basis (ex., high priority for some daily news feeds, medium priority for some favorite podcasts, lower priority for other stuff). Downcast will play the things in the priority you specify, and within that priority, it will play in date order (oldest to newest).
Allegedly, it will also sync your play status to other devices, although that is not a feature I currently use and can't vouch for. It uses apple's iCloud APIs, so to some extent may be limited by what Apple's APIs can do.

I recently updated my iphone 3GS to iOS 5.0.1 software. After this was completed everything had been wiped from phone, all photos, apps, contacts, notes, calender. emails, music and settings. itunes wouldnt recognise my phone afterwards, but I have now been able to put back my photos, music and apps. Does anyone know how I can get my contacts, calender and email back please (notes would be good too!!). I didnt have icloud.

You should have been syncing all of this to your computer regularly.
Just sync it back.

Does anyone know how to recover deleted contacts? For some reason contacts with only phone numbers have been deleted the rest of my contacts are there. It appears that I only have the contacts on my phone that i have on my laptop.

Does anyone know how to recover contacts that have been gone missing or have been deleted somehow. The contacts that are missing are the ones where I only had phone numbers (no email address). The ones where I have both phone numbers and email addresses are ok. They are the same ones I have on my laptop. I dont know what I did to cause the ones with phone number only to disappear.

Does anyone know how to import multiple email addresses from the cc part of an email inot addressbook without having to do them one by one?

i'm trying to import a group that i belong to from the cc area of an email i received in mail to addressbook without having to do them one by one which is plainly tedious. does anyone know how to do this? can i convert them to vcards somehow, all together not individually?

Does anyone know how to import an existing mp3, edit, bounce back to iTunes

I have created many songs in Logic Express and have successfully bounced them as mp3 files to iTunes. However, now I'm trying to import a pre-existing mp3 file, edit the length of the track, and export, or 'bounce' it back into iTunes. All seems to work fine, except the shortened mp3 file that ends up back in iTunes plays with no sound.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Appreciate your help. Thanks!

I don't know why this happens but the right way is to bounce an uncompressed file (that you should take apart for future use) and import it in iTunes letting this last to convert.
BTW, try to delete the old .mp3 from the iTunes library before to import the new one.

Put one unique contact in Address Book, this entry can be fake, that doesn't matter, the important point is that Address Book not be empty. Do the same with iCal, if you have calendar entries. When you hit the sync button, with contacts selected in iTunes, this should generate a merge or replace prompt. Select merge.

Does anyone know how to import files into FCP X using focus enhancements FS-CV (DTE)?

I've just purchase Final Cut X and the system does not recognise any (most) of the files on my FS-CV DTE hard drive. All files are quicktime.

In FCP 7 I'd normally use the Log and Transfer function to convert the AVCHD files to ProRes. However with FCP X you can use the Import from Camera... command in the File menu or the button shortcut for the same function.
This can be done by connecting the camera, or putting the memory card from the camera into a card reader, and then, from within the Imprt from Camera dialogue, selecting Open Archive and select the camera, card or in my case the backup I've made of the card.
I regularly back up my AVCHD files to hard disk, or BluRay data disk, so I can reuse my SD cards but an important thing to remember when doing this is that you need to copy the whole directory structure of the memory card to a new folder on the hard drive. Simply selecting the .mts files won't work as the 'Import From Camera' function needs to see the whole directory structure to interpret the what files are there etc. I create a new folder and then copy all the folders and files on my card into that folder on my hard drive. When selecting Import from Camera/Open Archive I then choose the folder, not the files inside it. Once this is done the video files are presented and I can audition them and choose to import all of them or select the files I want.
None of these methods require the files to be transcoded prior to import. You can choose the transcoding method during import so that either high quality ProRes files are created or Proxy files, smaller and lower quality for editing.

It's still the best calendar program I've used for Mac... Any other ones out there?

I guess I kind of figured out how to do this. I had to totally inactivate end-to-end monitoring in the runtime workbench configuration and then re-activate it.
The only problem was that the messages that were in the gap (in your case 8 hours) never got put into end-to-end monitoring.
So I did get it caught back up, but not in the way that I wanted. That is why I left the question open, to see if anyone else had a better way to do this.
