Does anyone know how to rename ipods?
I'm having an issue trying to rename my ipods. Does anyone know how to do that? Please help.
With iOS 5 go to Settings>General>About>Name and change the name.
You can also connect the iPod to your computer and right clcik on the iPod name under Devices in iTunes and change the name like you change a file name.

If you are trying to update to iOS 3.1.3 and getting the 8288 error I know on no solution. Othere users have posted a similar question. Have you contacted iTunes.

IPod 1st gen does not work after upgrade to iOS 3.1.3. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I upgraded my iPod 1st Generation from 1.1.5 to iOS 3.1.3. through iTunes. After it went through the upgrading process, I received the error message, "iPod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (6). I went to another PC and was able to restore to the original version. However, I would like to be able to upgrade to 3.1.3 so that I can buy some Apps that requires 3.1.3. Does anyone know how to fix this or have any suggestions? Thanks.

Verify that access to ports 80 and 443 are allowed on your network.

Restore your device while connected to a different network.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.

My touch screen on my ipod Nano, Gen 6 has gone completely white. It had started going white the day before. I tried resetting it but to no avail. Does anyone know how I could fix this. Also I have 2 other ipods that I am no longer able to sync. It comes up with a message (best I can remember) something to the effect that my itunes version is not compatible with my ipod. I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
"done", in the upper right corner
c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
security questions.
d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.

I purchased an iPod Touch 5 64gb mint condition, it was working great but I reset it and now it's asking me for an Apple Id. Problem is it want the original owners & not mine. I would have no problem contacting the person I bought it off of but I no longer have their information since when it worked I deleted the emails!
Does anyone know how to bypass this problem so that I can have the ipod work for me and my Apple ID?
I would even take it to Apple if they could fix it, would they? and what might that cost me?
