Does anyone know how to reset to factory settings?
I bought my mac used and was told by the seller to take my mac to apple to have them restore it. I bought snow leopard but my mac will not install it. I am thinking that if I go back to factory settings everything will work again on here. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Then, follow these steps:
1. Insert the Mac OS X disc and hold the C key while your computer is starting.
2. Select the language, go to Utilities menu > Disk Utility, choose your hard disk at the top of the sidebar, go to Erase tab and erase the drive.
3. Close Disk Utility and reinstall Mac OS X.
After doing that, open > Software Update, and install the most recent version. Finally, you should be able to upgrade to Snow Leopard, only if you are using 10.4 or 10.5. To check the Mac OS X version, open > About this Mac

Does anyone know how to reset your security questions?? I loaded an itunes gift card on new ipod but when trying to make a purchase, itunes is asking us the incorrect security questions?! (for 1st time purchase) I know the questions are not what I chose because I wrote the questions & answers down when setting up the ipod. Any ideas??!!!

I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
"done", in the upper right corner
c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
security questions.
d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.

I have a new HP Officejet 6500A plus. I cannot get it to connect to my Airport Extreme V5.6. It see the wifi signal but Fails on "Filtering" and possibly the channel. Does anyone know how to reset or reconfigure filtering and channel on the old airports?
This is a part of the larger MacBook Pro connectivity issue. There are several related threads dealing with the MBP's networking problems. If your unit is suffering from this type of difficulty, good luck ... (or a long ethernet cable)

Does anyone know how to restet an ipod after you forgot your password for it but not using the computer you set it up on?

Does anyone know how to reset the Keychain login access when booting from disc?
I recently had Lion go bad on my Mac Pro (screen hung up with twirly grey circle). I tried unsuccessfully to repair permissions etc, so I decided to install Snow Leopard onto my other internal drive as this was the latest system I had on a disc; bootup with that and update to Lion.
After installation the machine restarted and asked me for the login user and password. I thought this was odd as usually it would ask to set this up when you first bootup; I can't get past the login. My question is how do I reset the keychain login access when booted m a disc or is there a default I can use?

Could anyone give me ideas on how to unlock my daughters ipod touch 4? She set a password and didn't tell anyone or write it down. She put it in wrong to many times and locked the ipod. I have tried to sync to itunes and still nothing.

So I set up a restrictions passcode for certain applications, one of them being iCloud. I forgot what the code is and now I can't access my cloud. I tried to restore but backing up also restores settings which means the backup contains the same restriction passcode. Someone please help!!
