Does anyone know how to transfer music from ipod to a new computer?

Is it possible as well?

If you have downloaded the music from iTunes store from iPod through WiFi, then you can transfer the purchases easily, when you connect the iPod to iTunes, it will ask you whether to transfer the purchases or not.
If you haven't purchased songs from iPod, then unfortunately you can't transfer any songs through iTunes.
You can restore purchases from iTunes :
Once you are really sure that those iTunes songs are gone, here’s what to do:
1. Open the iTunes Store on your device.
2. Make sure you are signed in with the same account used for the original purchase.
3. Tap Purchased from the bottom navigation bar.
4. From the Purchased tab, tap the artist name for the content you intend to download again.
5. Once you’ve located the music you are looking for, tap the download button.
(If you want to download all songs from an album that you’ve purchased, click on the button to swith to the “Album” view.)
If you have your own set of songs, then you can copy those songs from iPod by using this FREE software : http://download.cnet.com/SharePod/3000-2141_4-10794489.html?tag=mncol;2
I hope this solves your problem

  • Does anyone know how to transfer music from Music player onto Macs i-tunes?

Am new to Macs. Trying to transfer music from media player to my mac using a pen-drive. however it will not play in itunes only in VLC. How am i able to get it playing in itunes? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    CharlieNicole,
iTunes only plays the video file formats supported by Quicktime. If you are working with files from Windows Media Player or Realplayer, you will need to use one of the players recomended for those media formats for the Mac. I would recomend checking the websites for the maker of those software for their recomendations.
For a list of formats that iTunes will play this article has information:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302758
EDIT: iTunes for Windows can convert WMA files that are not encrypted with DRM (Digital Rights Management) software. You might want to consider adding them to iTunes on a Windows-based PC, and the copying the resulting files over.

  • Computer broken, how to transfer music from ipod to the new computer?

    Hi,
so the problem is that my computer got broken and all my music went down with that also. Now i want to put the music on my ipod to my new computer so how do I do it? Or can I even do it? I hope so.
    So, please tell me!
    Thanks

Connect your iPod to your new computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

    iDump Windows Only

    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

You don't.  The music sync is one way - computer to iphone.  the only exception is itunes purchases.
The iphone is not a backup device.

For purchased songs you can plug the iPod into you new computer and use the "File > Transfer Purchases from iPod" feature in iTunes. For music not purchased from the iTunes store you will need a third party program to help. There are a few of them out there, and they are easy to find on Google.

Yes. Are you familiar with Dropbox? Dropbox is an excessively easy way for you to transfer files between devices (PC/Mac/Galaxy Tab/iPhone/iPad/etc.). You can upload your files to Dropbox on one device and receive it on the other.

  • Does anyone know how to transfer funds from one account to another?

I Accidentally redeemed my itunes gift card to the wrong account. Does anyone know how I could transfer the funds?

    Gabby,
It is not possible to transfer credit from one account to another.
However, if you redeem a gift card and have not yet spent any of it, you can request to have the amount put back onto the card.  Contact iTunes Customer Service here:
