Yes, you can. In fact, it's recommended if you own multiple devices that you use the same ID to manage them. For the App Store, you can download an app you buy on multiple devices without having to re-purchase. With iCloud, you can sync your information (contacts, calendars, etc) across multiple devices. So it's very useful to sign in with the same ID.

How to Perform an Archive and Install
1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger, 4.1 for Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger, 4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.

Does anyone know why I can't download Vuze on the ipad

I have tried to download Vuze to the ipad and it keeps coming up with the message that Safari won't let me download it. This is the free version and I have downloaded on the Mac so I don't understand why I can't on the ipad. Any suggestions?

This is what so annoys me about the iPad ,apple control what you do with it. Who are they to bully us into doing it their way. ? every time I login I have to do it twice. Why is that. It's not about security per se it's about buisness owning our interaction processes so they can control. What we do and be forced to buy from them. The iPad is just another computer. Slow and clunky at that. Not even a USB port. I regret buying it. Since my Mac laptop is out of order I have no choice but to use it and wait for pages to load like 486 with a 56k dial up modem ! It's good for emails. But crashes every time fb opens a page. Stupid thing. Microsoft tried to restrict user access in similar ways and was defeated in court. I love my MacBook pro but this iPad 1 is utterly crap.
I don't mean to annoy anyone who gives their good time on here. Apple is so big and corporate you know it can't hear the ants at its feet who want it to be more open less greedy and listen to its customers rather than get the customer to listen and conform to what it wants.. When my laptop has anew charger I'm selling this iPad because it is so user unfriendly .

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the airport admin assistant?????

My Mac G3 has recently died a sad and horrible death, consequently I am now an 'XP' user. I need to set up my airport express network. I can't find anywhere a copy of the admin assistant that allows me to add express units to my existing network (I have three units that I use to stream music around my house).
Can anyone supply me with a copy of the admin assistant that will run on a windows machine??
I have tried all the CDS that came with express units with no success.

I have just installed it on my XP PC (using the link I gave) and it does include the Setup assistant.

As far as I understand there should
be two applications, the set-up assistant and a
maintenance app. When I do the download you suggest I
get only the maintenance pp. that lets you administer
individual base stations. I'm looking for the setup
assistant that allows the addition of extra airports
to a network. Any more ideas??
The Airport Admin Utility (what you have called the maintenance app) allows you to configure individual base stations and can be used to configure an Airport Express to join an existing network - you would need to enter the information manually.

notification/message says download complete
i click on notification/message
nows it says complete action using (here i only have 2 icon options 1= DB Text Editor 2 = HTML Viewer)

If you are using Safari as a web browser :-
Open Safari, go to Safari menu > Preferences > General, and put Google as the homepage. Then, choose Google as your default search engine.
If you are using Google Chrome as the web browser :-
Open Google Chrome.
In the top right corner of the page, click the Chrome menu Chrome menu > Settings.
In the "Search" section, select Google from the drop-down menu.
Let me know if you still experience any issue.

Okay so I asked someone from apple and they said that the software update icon is gone but its functions have been merged with the app store icon on the settings menu. Crisis averted haha!

What do you mean by that? Do you mean you deleted photos or albums from your iPhoto Library?
You best solution is to use Time Machine to restore your library from just before you "cleaned your iPhoto archive".

Deauthorizing won't delete anything, and all your purchased content is safe. You will just have to reauthorize any of the other computers that get deauthorized along with your computers old machine id.
To get your purchased content back on that computer, just use iTunes to redownload it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US). Of course, music you ripped from CD or got from another source you'll need to copy those files back over.

Resolution
Move the mouse or trackpad cursor over the center area of the login window so you can see the user icons. Click on the icon of the user that you would like to login as, type in the user's password, and press Return.
If the login window is configured to show only the name and password fields, type in the user's name and password into the fields, and press Return (even if you cannot see the rest of the login window).
Additional Information
This issue will not occur if the display is not sleeping when the account is logged out. Use the steps below to confirm that the account is not configured to log out automatically while the display is sleeping:
Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General. Click the padlock to unlock the preference pane and enter your admin password. Click the Advanced button at the bottom, then see if the option "Log out after N minutes of inactivity" (where N is the number of minutes) is enabled.
Open System Preferences > Energy Saver and configure Display Sleep to occur after the account is logged out, by dragging the slider to a number of minutes that is greater than N was set to in the previous step.
Important: If automatic log out is not needed, disable "Log out after Nminutes of inactivity" in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General. This will also prevent the issue.
