Does anyone know what BTMMPortInUseAgent.plugin is?
Hello, I am new to the forum... as well as to macs... i just recently bought a mac mini and it was running fine, until i noticed two things. 1... that there was a "UserEventAgent - not responding" showing in my activity monitor and 2. that the startup chime has ceased to exist...
so in an effort to figure out what process was not running correctly and to fix the problem i searched for an answer and found this suggestion to narrow it down:

+I opened the folder UserEventPlugins which can be found in System > Library > UserEventPlugins and moved all the plugins to another folder. You must then delete the plugins from the UserEventPlugins folder which requires authorization. I restarted and opened the Activity Monitor. UserEventAgent was working fine. I then added each plugin one at a time back to the UserEventPlugins folder with a restart in between (which incidentally takes forever since installing Leopard). I kept adding, restarting then checking Activity Monitor until UserEventAgent stopped responding. I finally found the culprit. It was BluetoothUserAgent-Plugin. Since I removed it UserEventAgent is working fine - so far.+
So this is what i did and when i placed BTMMPortInUseAgent.plugin back into the UserEventPlugins folder the UserEventAgent stopped working again.
... I've found my culprit... but what IS it? I want to know if its something i actually NEED or if its something that jumped onto my computer for a program I downloaded... or what the deal is. and ive search for an answer, but I just keep coming up with scans that people have done in which it shows up, not anyone actually talking about what it is.
Anyone have any clues?

ps... if anyone has any suggestions as to why you think the "start-up chime" has ceased to exist on my computer as well... they are welcome... that's my next adventure... to figure out what happened... i miss my mac saying hello to me in the morning.
alright, turns out that i wasn't waiting long enough for the UserEventAgent to stop responding... it WAS, in fact, the BluetoothUserAgent-Plugin that the poster that i quoted stated below. I realized that it wasn't the BTMMPortInUseAgent.plugin when i returned all the plugins EXCEPT that one to their original folder and the UserEventAgent ceased to work once again. So i restarted the test and waiting about a minute for each until I realized the Bluetooth plugin was the problem.
As for my "chime issue", than you Alan for your response, but i ended up fixing it before i even got a chance to read it ... I have been using an m-box for some mixing in protools and instead of listening through headphone or connecting other speakers, I have been using my computer speakers (i wasn't doing any heavy, serious mixing... or else I would have been using something WAY better than computer speakers, so don't give me flack about it ), and in doing so i unplugged them from the headphone jack of the mac mini and plugged them into my mbox. Unplugging the speakers activated the internal speaker of the mac mini, so i turned it down so the random noises wouldn't distract me... and never turned it back up. i didn't realize that there are, in reality, two different "volumes", if you will, which i discovered after restarting my computer WITHOUT my speakers plugged in to see what would happen... and when my desktop showed I saw that the volume was magically turned down... so i turned it back up... plugged my speakers back in, and restarted and the chime has made a triumphant return!
Sorry for clogging your forum with useless questions. I tried to find a way to delete this thread, but i couldnt find one, so if someone knows how and wants to let me know, or an admin wants to do it, feel free.

Means you have an incompatible Safari extension installed. Look in the /Home/Library/Safari/Extensions/ folder for the offending plug-in and delete it.

Porting an InDesign Plugin from InDesign CC to InDesign CC 2014 the plugin complies successfully with the InDesign CC 2014 SDK but at run time presents this error and is disabled. Does anyone know what might be the issue?

Show this alert again?As already told this means that the plugin has not been ported correctly. Some part of it for ex InDesign libraries or frameworks are being referenced from the CC sdk instead of the CC2014 sdk. To troubleshoot it i would advise you to rename the folder containing the CC sdk on your machine and then compile the project, it will fail to compile and you will get to know straightaway what aspects of the ported project are still accessing the old sdk. Fix the errors and your plugin will load fine.

I'm in cycle mode, and 'merge' is clicked in preferences. However, when I record, my previous track data keeps getting overwritten. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong. Interestingly, I can still see the data in the region.

As you haven't told us who your email provider is, no.
There isn't an SMTP server for Greece - it is either provided by your email provider, or the Internet provider you are connected through. -
i am trying to use logic pro 9 on my lion system and it continues to say I have a bad midi...when i go to check my midi drivers folders in my library its empty...does anyone know whats going on?

To be clear you called the 800 number and explained what the situation was, old machine and lost the original DVD's?
Just checking because if you just called and tried to buy the DVD's they might tell you they no longer sell them but you aren't really trying to buy them your trying to replace the ones that are missing.
Ebay may work but there is a certain specificity to the DVD's required which, even if they seem right, might not work.
Good luck either way. If you get a chance when you get the DVD's I'd be interested in hearing how it all works out.

Thanks for the link but none of those described the problem. No error message pops up. It just says "Accessing Itunes Store" but it never actually does. This only occurs when my iPhone is plugged in though.

Light is flashing continueously on the front of the apple tv. No picture and no sound. Does anyone know what is wrong? Everything is plug in correctly. If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device) -
I purchased and Iphone 5 directly from apple, sim free over 12 months ago now. I have been using the phone on Vodafone with no issues. I have now upgraded to the Iphone 6 and therefore sold on the Iphone to a friend of mine. He lives in Ireland and therefore has a Vodafone Ireland simcard. Given that the phone was brought sim free from Apple directly, we didn't foresee that this would be an issue. However, when he goes to activate the phone, this message appears;
The SIM card inserted in the iPhone does not appear to be supported.
The SIM card that you currently have installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. This is not a hardware issue with the iPhone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more information.
Does anyone know what I need to do? I have got onto Vodafone, and they have been useless!! Apple say the phone is out of the 12 month warranty and therefore want to charge £25 before they will even speak to me about it. I requested an NUC from Vodafone, however, they are saying they need a proof of purchase from Apple as I did not buy the phone from them. I do not have my receipt anymore as the purchase was over 12 months ago now.

PhillNow you have discovered that a sim free phone and an unlocked phone are NOT the same thing. Had you purchased an unlocked phone from Apple, then you would not have had problems and as it is, a sim free phone is not the same and sim free will lock to the first sim card that you insert into the phone, so effectively, you phone has been locked to Vodafone and this is why you now have problems.
If your phone is locked to Vodafone, then they are the only ones who can unlock the phone for you - Apple does not and cannot unlock phone - this is the province of the carriers only.
You had the contract with Vodafone when you used the phone and so you need to keep on at them to unlock the phone for you. If they still require proof of purchase and you cannot give them this and they will not unlock the phone for you, then this phone is useless to the friend that you sold it to - he will never be able to use it and basically, you are looking at giving him a refund for the phone for the amount that he paid you for it.
You need to keep on at Vodafone to unlock the phone for you or give your friend a refund for the phone as it will be useless to him and he will never be able to use the phone.
Hope that you now understand that a SIM Free phone and an Unlocked phone are NOT the same and I hope that when you purchased your iPhone 6, that you bought an unlocked phone? -
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) will not read an SD card in the SDXC card reader. Does anyone know whats going on?
Hi David. I don't have as modern a Macbook Pro as you, mine is a 2012 model, but perhaps I can help. I often find that my SD card will not load when I first insert it. I have to remove it and then put it into the slot again firmly.
You also haven't posted any information about the SD card. What size is it, do you know how it is formatted, has it worked in that same mac previously, where did it come from, does it currently work in another device (such as your camera)? This sort of information will help to narrow down the problem.
If you post some more information I'm sure people will try to help you. In the meantime, if you look at your post again you should see "More Like This" at the bottom of the page and you may find an answer in some of those related posts.

Does anyone know what to do about iCal colors changing. Ever since ios7 came out I have many problems. I kind of feel like Apple has become Microsoft at twice the price?? Anyway, today all my calendars (iPhone, iPad, iCloud and on my Mac) all changed colors from the customer colors I had set. I have about 5 calendars.
I was able to change them back on my Mac, my iphone and my ipad, but not in iCloud. Once each of the ones I changed updates / syncs it reverts to the incorrect colors again. I have tested back and forth, and it is definetly coming out of the iCloud.com. The web site will not let me chance colors, so once it updates / sync, all my other devices and calendars sync to the purple in iCloud.
I could go on and on about my frustrations with the apparent lack to testing, and the irony around Microsoft and their "bugs". It is more important that I find a cure, as this is really annoying.
Has anyone else seen this todayDon't spend a lot of time trying to change it. It's an iCloud problem that's happened before, and when it happened in August it went back to the correct colors in a few days. Just be careful when you add new items to the calendar to use the right calendar (even if the color is wrong), otherwise you'll have things out of synch when the correct colors come back.

i have an iphone 4 and after updating it to the ios5 software, it will not allow me to activate nor allow me to leave the setup page. i plugged it into itunes and it is stuck there too... i cannot even restore it. does anyone know what to do?
I have had this same issue but thankfully fixed it. Follow he steps below:
Sync your iPhone with you iTunes therefore your info is backed up. Unplug your phone.
Go to Settings > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings
Once your phone has reset and come back on answer the question until it asks if you want to back up from itunes Click this then plug your phone in.
After everything has sync'd back to your phone everything should work fine.

I have recently purchased some apps from the app store and after downloading them, the icon that appears in the dock changes to a different icon. It is now the same icon appearing on all newly downloaded apps. Does anyone know what is happening here? Even updating an older game app resulted in the original game icon changing to the new identical icon that all new apps are appearing with. This new icon is like a page with a ruler, pencil and paintbrush. Any tips on how to stop this or how to revert to the icon as it appears on the app store would be appreciated.

For some reason the Apple ID window in iTunes and App Store now seems to suddenly have a character number constraint which prevents me using my 29 character Apple ID. As a result I am unable to enter the final few characters of my Apple ID which I have had for many years. Does anyone know what has caused this?
