Well, I recently checked apple.com, and the "pre-order" button has been replaced with the "buy now" button. This is a very good sign that the iPods will begin to ship soon! There is still no exact date, but I expect that they will ship within the next 3 days. You should get an email when they have shipped.

Does anyone know what ppqryErrorList is used for in EssOtlQueryMembersEx?

Given a calcscript, I'm wondering if I can get a list of errors back it has multiple errors (e.g. member not found, syntax error etc.) when I run EssOtlQueryMembersEx.
I've looked at the documentation (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/html_esb_api/api_c/otlc/funcs/apcfqmex.htm) and looks like ppqryErrorList does the job for me. However, I'm getting a NULL pointer to ppqryErrorList regardless or whethere there's an error or not.
e.g. when I call "@ICHILD(blah)" with EssOtlQueryMembersEx I'm hoping the error list (ppqryErrorList) will contain "member not found blah" but it infact returns NULL.
This parameter on EssOtlQueryMembersEx must be there for a reason. Does anyone know what this is used for?
Btw, I'm using Essbase 7

Does anyone know what software is used for creating this?

I have seen this effect on a few television adverts and wondered how I would go about creating it.
In this click the ball is kicked and as it gets to the screen it "breaks" into pieces and the ball comes out of the screen - I know this isnt the same ball as seen in the clip and it had been recreated in probably a 3d package such as cinema 4d but how do I get the breaking into pieces like that -

I guess they are both done using the same software and effect and all I really want to know is the software and effect used. Any additional help would be appreciated but I would like to try and work out the rest for myself - I'm halfway along a learning curve!

As you may remember when you turned your mac on for the first time, a ver neat welcome video played with upbeat music. Well I just wanted to know if anybody knew what program(s) was used to make it. If you know or have any idea please tell me. Thanks!

Hi and welcome to discussions. I tried to find something about it, but was not successful. I would guess though that this has been made using some of Apple's own software, everything else would not really make sense. And there actually is one tool in the portfolio capable of creating something like that: Motion. So, as an educated guess, I would say that's the one.

Does anyone know what software is needed for an HP A799 POS receipt printer?

I'm trying to use the A799 receipt printer to open the register drawer. The software I have does not have a configuration for this, so I'm guessing I do not have the right software. It prints fine, just doesn't open the drawer.

SOLUTION:
Download and install HP USB Receipt Printer Firmware Upgrade (sp34185) from the following URL: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&swItem=ir-454...
Finish the printer installation by completing the following steps:
1. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Printer and Faxes > Add printer .
2. During the Add Printer Wizard process, you will be asked to select a port. In the drop-down list, select a USBxxx (Virtual Printer Port) port.
3. Browse to the location where the printer files are located, and select TPG A794 CD#1 Full and install the printer.
4. Once the test page is printed the drawer will open automatically. NOTE: The TPG A794 CD#1 version generates a pulse to cash drawer 1 after each document, opening the cash drawer.
Even though this is listed as a solution for the RP5000, it worked perfectly on the RP3000 using the HP A799 printer.

Does anyone know what I should buy for Times-Roman, Times-Italic, Times-Bold etc.?

I only see Times New Roman. The error message in Adobe Distiller is 'can't find Times-Roman (or Times-Italic or Times-Bold).

Just play with each and figure out which one you want. I believe they only allow 1 exchange unless it is a defect issue. You can always return the exchanged item and rebuy what you want if they will not allow you to do multiple exchanges.
But again, you need to really figure out which one you want.

And those unofficial shops will void your warranty. Even if it were a tad more expensive to go the Apple route (which isn't , in this case), I would not recommend going with unauthorized repair. Besides the warranty issue, they do not usually use genuine parts and the rpair itself might cause other problems in the future....

Does anyone know what "STATE 24" means for Error: 1222, Severity: 16?

I am getting Error: 1222, Severity: 16, State: 24 in my sql error log. It happened in the early morning hours and I do not have any idea what might have caused it.
Can someone tell me what STATE 24 means?
Is there a way to initiate a "trace flag" to run in the background capture the lock without placing to much overhead on the server?

The lock request time out is probably set on the application side. Probably the application is using the SET LOCK_TIMEOUT
command.
Try to use SQL Server Profiler to see how this command is used from the application side.

For some time now, my appstore app shows an update available for CodeBox, which I did not buy. When I try to update it it asks for my ID and password (all normal), but then it gives an Unknown Error.
I am 100% sure I didn't buy the app, I do not see any transaction on my card or in the appstore apart of this one, so does not seem to be a hack.
Does anyone know what is happening, this is a tricky thing which is making me lose trust in the payment/account system that Apple is using.

Hello and welcome to the support community
You only option is to buy a copy of Mac OS X, either the retail disk or system disks.
There are places you can by a copy of Mac OS X, like online vendors, Amazon or eBay.
System disk are gray and come with more than one disk. Retail disk are black with a 'X' on them and often come as one DVD disk.
Not sure what version your going to require as you haven't provided any specification and model details.
I would safely assume being a G4, it would be happy to install Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger.
If you could let us know the PowerBook you own, then I am sure we could advise you further.

Does Anyone know what's Apple stand on LOGIC 8 issues. Have they acknowledge any bugs? are they working patches/fixes, do they have technical docs talking about the frezing, crashing, clicks and other issues? Logic 8 is my first LOGIC version and unfortunately at this point is too unstable to even play with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
