Things do seem to be a bit of a mess. :-( Not sure what operating system you are running, but I think I would restart your computer, and run the Cleaner Tool:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
Then open the Desktop Application Manager as Administrator (right click its icon) and try again.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

It's usually related to old firmware on your CD/DVD drive, but we'd better have a look at your DVD/CD tests first, just to be sure.
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
... and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen:
... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here. -

I amy trying to complete IMatch, but on PHase 3, I get the error message: The itunes file cannot be saved. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation. Does anyone have the same issue, or know how to fix it. Thank you!
I didn't know that iTunes had a 64bit download. I have Windows 7 Home Premium with 64bit operation system. I downloaded the iTunes for 64bit and it seems to have corrected the problem. I haven't received the message yet since I did this.

What does "reset" mean? I'm going to assume that means you restarted it somehow, but if you meant something else, please say so.
The flashing question mark means no bootable system could be found. Hold down command-R at startup to enter recovery mode, then repair the hard drive with Disk Utility. If it succeeds, you may still need to reinstall the system, as some files may be corrupt. You can install right over the existing system, but it would be wise to be sure you have backups beforehand in case something goes wrong.
If repairs cannot be made, you will need to try another utility,mike DiskWarrior, or just erase the hard drive and reinstall from scratch.
If the hard drive does not show up in Disk Utility, it has probably dies and will need to be replaced.
