One way to bypass the Gatekeeper is to right or ctrl click on the Installer and choose Open from the Context menu.
Then it will give you that option to run the installer app.

You can change the settings in Security & Privacy to "Anywhere"...
That should work... as to whether the printer driver will work, that's another question.

I get this error message when I try to back up my laptop:

HT4943 Error during download - I keep getting this error message when installing or updating apps
I subscribed to wired magazine and I am trying to download the first mag, however I keep getting an error message stating "error during download, try again later". I also get an error message when trying to resume paused updating of apps. I've tried turning ipad2 off and then on again but this doesn't work. Can anyone help?
There are all basic troubleshooting steps that have worked for other users in the past that were having problems downloading and updating apps. YMMV .....
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again. -

I opened a .psd file (300 ppi, CMYK, .jpgs (1626px x 2130px), I saved it as a jpg (None, 12, base "standard", preview checked).
I then closed the original .psd file.
I repeated those steps on the same file and saved a series of 6 .jpgs.
Of those 6 files, I received 2 large files (6.2MB) and 4 smaller (3.2MB) files.
My coworkers who were having trouble opening some of my jpg images in Windows Photo Gallery on Vista OS were able to open the smaller files but not the larger ones.
Do you have any idea why the same settings would give me different file sizes from CS5?
Is there a way I can make it consistently keep the smaller more compatible version?How well a image data compresses depends on image content. Image with High detail do not compress well image will little detail will compress well and the file size will be small. Compare a image of a blank white wall to a wall with a black and white checker board wall paper. One is all white it white no other detail to detail the other has squares that vary in size because of perspective angle and distance a lot of detail must be recorded.
I do not know why they can not open some of your images. File size should not be an issue. All your image decoded are the same size Width number of Pixels Height numbers of pixels background layer only for these are jpeg files. -
thought problem was solved but keeps recurring; v frustrating since at times all works fine while at others...
I have a direct connection and the no proxy option selected on firefox connection settings;I spoke too soon,
I reckon the main feature of the problem is its fickleness;
a minute ago I managed a purchase on amazon, now I can't even log in.
Checked with isp provider; MTU size is correct ; they don't think there is an issue with them; they advised to check firewall settings; but this doesn't account for the problem being on and off. For what is worth I use windows firewall and norton as antivirus.
Any ideas? -

Does anyone know how to get this baby back to how it was when it left the Apple Store? I think I've made some errors moving some stuff from my old computer and just want to start all over again... Like when I first booted it up out of the box.
Insert the Install DVD 1 that came with your baby, reboot with the c key held down. When the installer launches, select Erase & Install. (The Archive & Install option will preserve your data, but also most likely some of the problematic files.)

I keep getting this error message when I (right-click) on a photo file on my desktop to burn to a CD. I don't understand this code...does anyone? Thanks Ariel**: The disc can’t be burned because an unexpected error occurred (error code 0x80020000).
I tried every obvious solution to this problem with different types of disc (-R; +R; -RW and +RW) and the problem persisted. Then I read about removing a hyphen in picture filenames. I renamed all the images and bingo there were no further problems. Apple should have solved this by now. This error code has been reported for several years and my MacBook Pro is quite new. Anyway, I hope this helps. It does work.
