Does anyone 'not' have an afflicted superdrive?
Everyone is talking about how the superdrives don't work, but is there anyone out there who has read this that does have one that works?
Just thought it would help us all out, getting a perspective on how many work... Thanks!
I have been loading music on to my macbook this evening and I don't think that I have had any more problems than I did when using my iBook. One cd was spat out and one got stuck spinning and wouldn't import so I had to do the restart holding the mouse down thing but on the whole I have not had any major problems. I have noticed that the macbook has to be on a flat surface or the cd's get stuck, and it gets very hot when spinning a disc.
I have nearly finished an iMovie project so will soon be burning the finished dvd with iDVD so that will probably be the test as to whether the drive is good or not.

There have been many posts complaining about wifi dropouts with the HH2.
I have standard up-to-8Mbps ADSL (running at about 6Mbps) and my HH2 has no problems maintaining multiple wifi connections even if they're using YouTube or iPlayer. I even have BT FON enabled, but I doubt anyone has ever used it!
Possibly there's a bunch of bad HH2s. Or, more likely I think, the HH2 is just not fit for purpose for >8Mbps connections. And if that's the case then people shouldn't upgrade without getting the HH3.This forum is flooded with reports of bad HH2s however it seems to be on both infinity, 20m and 8m lines.
I never had a problem with either the HH1 or 2 but i never used them
Have always used my trust netgear and soon to be Vigor for infinity
But yes the HH2 is either not fit for purpose or a extreamly large batch of faulty devices have been shipped out.
Some people have had upto 5 replacments of the HH2 with yet another HH2 and suffer the same problems. I tink the problem is to wide spread to be a batch problem. Maybe BT changed part supliers for cheaper parts when building the Home hubs?

Macintosh does not have a Supported Superdrive
I have a 9 month old Macintosh IBook G4 using Mac OS 10.3.9
I am trying to burn my first DVD using the IDVD program. When I open the IDVD program I get a message:
Your Macintosh does not have a supported SuperDrive. Thus I can not burn a DVD.
Get anyone give me some tips about what this means? Seams like I basically have a new Mac (within 1 year) so I should be able to burn DVDs some way.

John EllisSome iBooks have a drive which will read and write CDs but only read DVDs. Check your specification either in the documentation or by pulling down the apple menu and clicking on about this mac and examining the hardware.

ITunes New Release - Printing a playlist to my printer the header prints, but the song list all print in the same place. I am able to print from any other source. Does anyone else have this problem? Not sure if I should completely uninstall my ITunes and reload from scratch. Sure would appreciate any help you could provide as I really need to get some playlists printed now. Thanks - Scott
There is another discussion of this problem under "can't print cd jewel case inserts"--about 20 people on that page have the same problem.--I have a "band-aid" fix for anyone is in a hurry. When you go to print, choose the option "large playlist" (I think it is the last option). You can then print at least the songs that are on the playlist. Then, you can print a mosaic copy to get the album art work. Then you get out the scotch tape & tape them together! This is UNACCEPTABLE but it will do in a pinch. Someone on the other page suggests we all write in "itunes" feedback & complain.

The 'Swipe to Camera app icon' function is not working. I swipe across but the camera app doesn't start up at all. Does anyone else have this problem? Can it be fixed?

Press and hold the Wake / Sleep button and the Home button at the same time, keep them both pressed until the Apple Logo appears. -
i movie is not responding I have tried deleting storage space to no effect. Does anyone else have this problem ?
If you are positive there is a good Wi-Fi signal in the area of the iPad I would first reboot your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't work, I would turn off your iPad and then restart your Wi-Fi router. Unplug the router for 30 seconds then plug it back in. Once the router had completed its restart process and established a link to the Internet then turn your iPad on. Make sure Settings > Wi-Fi> On. -
My Game Center is not letting me log in on my ipad but I have no issues with my iPhone. Does anyone else have this issue lately. This has just stared recently. When I go to Game Center is just trying to load continuously.
I have the same exact problem. I have literally done everything that everyone says works but it hasn't solved mine. I went to the Recieved at and It has my number and my email right under neath it but I can not select my Number. My Email is clickable but my number is like a super faded grey not like you can't see it but it is not close to black.

When I watch streaming shows or movies on my Air the contrast is lousy. If it's a dark scene you can hardly see anything. Does anyone else have this issue? I've got it as bright as it lets me go.
It seems that my pioneer DVD drive ate my disc and no matter what I do, I can't get it out.
What have you done so far? Provide details on what you have done to date in the way of troubleshooting and the results. In doing so, the helpers here will avoid the "been there done that" response scenerio.

how hard is it to take the iMac apart?
If your model iMac is not user repairable, do a Google search for DIY instructions. Two places to start is iFixit and YouTube's tutorials.
What is a good replacement for it?
External CD/DVD burners. Check out OWC & Lacie websites for CD/DVD drives. Make sure you read the system requirements for the drives.

Since I installed the update for Mindjolt games, it will not let me in. Does anyone else have this problem?
Try resetting the iPad. Simultaneously hold down the Home and the On buttons until the iPad shuts off. Ignore the off slider if it should appear. This should take only about ten seconds or so. Once shut down is compete, turn the iPad back on.

after the newest update ( iso 7) , i can no longer type in traditional chinese ( pin yin), does anyone else have the same problem?
I downloaded and tried EasyFind. It works but it took 30+ seconds to complete finding 3 files that are on One of my Five 25+ Gb partitions of my 130 Gb Seagate Cuda(Really 160 Gb, but my Sawtooth will only recognize 130) I figured that if I ever got a better box, I could reformat it to see the whole 160 Gb. So, as far as I can see, Spotlight's indexing scheme which finds the files instantly is probably preferable. Spot light allows you to rename your files from within it's app window. I've always thought that was pretty powerful. Could my doing so be causing me any issues? As i said it is the inability to Type in the Finder that seemed to be caused from changing file Extentions that were mis-written. Maybe it was a delayed reaction to my renaming files in the Spotlight app? I've done both on occasion.
As for these .DS_Store files. Apparently you can NOT stop them from being written to any folder that you touch/open/view during a days session. But, as a function of the OS, are the essential to have in their respective folders Forever? I've looked at the .DS_Store terminator app briefly and assume that getting rid of these files won't hurt the regular operation of my OS. They will just be re-written if I ever have to go back to any particular folder again. But, apparently, some have said that if the plan on burning a CD or DVD of their data, they delete the .DS_Store files first and then do the burn.
I'm thinking from your having suggested this tremination app that you suspect that my having all of these ,DS_Store files could be a situation where any of them could have become corrupted and terminating them regularly should be part of my regular maintenance.
Does that sound like I'm understanding what I can do?

So, This is ATV #2. The first one got sent back because during play, after 30 mins, TV would go black. ATV light would still be on, but no audio, video......Also when in standby, no audio/video would work when We brought it out of standby.
ATV #2 didn't have any problems...... Till now. Now it plays, but like the last one, when in standby, doesn't want to come out....No audio/video..... At first thinking it was the ATV, but could it be the tv?
I have a 46" Sony Bravia...Everything else works fine on the TV. Does anyone else have this problem of it not waking up from standby????
It's driving me crazy!!! Any help or advice will be much appreciated!!!!!!Next time it happens switch to a different input on the TV, then switch back and see if you have video, or turn the TV off and then turn it back on again. It's possible it could be the TV, for example, if it ignores the input after a certain period of inactivity and fails to detect when the ATV comes out of standby. It could be an HDMI issue between the ATV and your TV. A number of people have experienced HDMI anomalies with specific make and model TVs.
