Does anyone remember the CrossGrade thing that Apple did a few years ago?

Does anyone remember the CrossGrade thing that Apple did a few years ago? My understanding is that it brought academic versions of FCP and Studio up to retail versions. Now I'm trying to upgrade to Studio 2 and the guy at the store who initially agreed with me that this is what the program did and then he went in back of the store to do some research and when he came back says that crossgrade only filled out the disks in the set i.e. if you had FCP 4 Academic and did the CrossGrade you would have Studio 1 Academic... If I misunderstood the program I can admit it but I have been under this belief for so long... So the big question is... Does or did the CrossGrade program bring academic software up to retail/ upgradable versions???

The crossgrade only exchanged Power PC versions of FCP/FCS for Universal Binary (Intel compatible) versions. The software on Retail and Academic versions is identical. The difference is in the license -you would need a completely new serial # to go from Academic to Retail.

When I try calling someone it beeps twice and says 'call failed' also when someone tries calling me it does not come through. Also SMS/MMS cannot be sent or recieved. Only mobile internet is working

Does anyone know any repair services that apple recommends?

I brought my computer to the Genius Bar and I was told that my hard drive has failed so I need to get a new one. There are a few other things that could be fixed, like the cd-drive, so the guy helping me told me the name of a company that I can send my computer to. They would then take a look at everything that was wrong with it and fix it for some flat rate around $300-350 or so. Does anyone know the name of the company that this guy might have been talking about? Btw it's a 2007 macbook and I wanted to get it all fixed and updated before I buy a new computer this summer.

Does anyone remember the old "quasi-arpeggiator" Logic feature?

I seem to recall that I was able to hold down a note (or chord) and Logic would automatically record notes according to a quantisation value such as 16th notes, with note velocities equal to channel pressure.
I know about the arpeggiator in the environment set to "ALL", and I realize that I could build a transformer to map mod wheel or pressure to note velocities, but I think there was another way to do this.
Maybe I'm thinking about Studio Vision? Does anyone remember how to do this?

I opened my iTunes and most of my music was gone, it said "Previous iTunes Libraries" at the top and had playlists from a few years ago (that I've long since deleted). How can I get my old library back?

Please help!! About a week ago I opened my iTunes to find that all but 200 something of my songs were missing (I had 1,000 something the day before) and all of my current playlists were gone. They've been replaced by playlists that I had nearly four years ago and have long since deleted. It also says "Previous iTunes Libraries" at the top. I am SO frustrated because everything is gone!!!

Nevermind, once I posted this topic it gave me some helpful related topics on the side and I found my answer! Would have been nice if it could have given me those before I posted this!!! Anyway, if anyone else sees this and is having the problem, press and hold the Shift key while double clicking to open itunes on your desktop, then it will ask you to select a library and just choose the one with the most recent date!! (Use the Opt key instead of Shift for Mac users). I owe alot of thanks to the person on the board that helped me, been frustrated for DAYS!!! THANK YOU!

My first Apple product in early 1981 was an Apple II+ with twin disk drives and a color monitor. My boss was so impressed with it that he bought me an official Apple Desk, complete with sidearm. It was such a nice piece I kept it all these years and recently gave it to my son for his iMac. Here is what it looks like today. Anyone remember this item? [It was expensive, on the order of $800 if memory serves me well!]

and went through many design phases

HT2240 does anyone remember the url to the old apple page for retrieving license keys?

I cant find my old Quicktime 7 license key. I can't get it from the Apple Store as the link for downloading software license keys was removed a while ago. So Apple did have a page where you could look up your previous software license keys years ago, but the Apple Store design of the present makes that next to impossible to find. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know the street address for Apple's repair center in Memphis, TN? I sent my 2010 MBP for display problems but didnt write down the FedEx tracking number.

I was an idiot and lost the tracking number for my package that was goin to Memphis to be fixed and of course the package supposedly still hasn't arrived after being sent 3 day ago an was overnighted. The book is not already on your computer, it's still available in the store, and you bought it with the same account (and you are still in the same country) ?

Hi everyone - I had signed up for Freedback and that was a cool form but I recall that Allyson (Varkgirl) was impressed with another service I saw it too when you did a mouseover it said "fill in your name here etc" was slicker than freedback but now when I try to search her posts in this forum I get the "exceeded bandwidth page"
