Does anyone see a status bar on startup?

After installing Yosemite on a 2011 MacBook air, I see a status bar on the grey screen during startup. Don't anyone else?  I don't get it on a MacBook pro.
KR,
Doc_Croc

Everyone running Yosemite sees it. It's normal, it's the progress bar (used to be a little spinning wheel)

Does anyone know the status of the new CMYK monitor display Apple is developing?

I have the same iMac as you but with a 1 TB hard drive.
Apple replaced the 1 TB hard drive of iMacs manufactured between October 2009 and July 2011 because of problems. When I took my iMac, the Genius gave me the bill (even if the repair was free) and the 1 TB hard drive cost about $100. This was with a 1 TB Seagate hard drive, so the cost for a 500 GB hard drive may be smaller, depending on the brand

The icon you see is indicating that a handsfree is connected to the phone. If you have not connected a handsfree and still get this icon I suggest that you update the phone software using the Update Service program. If you have not installed Update Service on your PC, you can download it from here.

  • OS X does not boot, a status bar is displayed

The system starts booting and the standard grey screen appears. In addition, a status bar is displayed below the spinning circle. It disappears after going to 100%, but nothing changes. The system hangs at the grey screen.
I have recently installed Windows with a trial of MacDrive. I have not used my OS X for a couple of days.
I had installed and then disabled Mac FUSE, however there might have been a couple successful boot sequences afterwards.
I tried starting system from a Mac OS Install DVD. Disk utility found errors and failed to repair them. I could format the drive, but this is terribly time consuming....

Thank you for the contribution. Sadly, the cmd + v did not work- I tried a couple of times without any result.
I have decided to reinstall the OS after all attempts to repair the disk failed. However, it is not that simple. The partition does not show up at the "Where do you want to install Mac OS X to" menu. Furthermore, erase fails as well- the Disk Utility appears to be unable to mount the disk. The bar is basically stuck at approx 3/4 for 15 minutes now....
    Restarting and retrying failed.

  • The Foxclocks 2.9.35 icon does not appear in status bar

Recently I installed Firefox 9.0.1 and Foxclocks 2.9.35, but I cannot find the Foxclocks icon in the status bar. I have checked Options.

Did you look on the Add-ons bar (Firefox > Options or View > Toolbars; Ctrl+/)?
Firefox 4 + versions no longer have the Status bar.<br />
The functionality of the Status bar has been replaced by the Add-ons bar that extensions can use.

  • Is anyone seeing the flashing globe on startup in Mavericks?

When I startup my MBA running Mavericks 10.9.2, I was geting a flashing globe and long delay before being presented with the Apple logo and, ultimatley, the login screen.
For what it's worth, now that Activity Monitor no longer shows a disk usage pie chart, I brought up Disk Utility and, to my amazement, saw, in addition to the legit Macintosh HD boot drive, an AdobeFlashPlayerInstaller .dmg file shown as a selectable startup disk!  That disk image file was in downloads; I deleted it from that folder and emptied the trash. I rebooted. No flashing globe - problem solved. I post this becasue all of the discussion threads I could find on this issue were pre-Mavericks, in the 2007 - early 2013 time frame. Well, the issue exists and this is a way to solve it.
What did SJ say about about Flash? A "bag of hurt"? I agree.
Hope one or more of you find this useful.
    Pioneer.

I had another version of this problem, ultimately traced to a faulty USB device (my Apple keyboard). After repairing permissions, running Disk Utility, and reinstalling Mavericks, the flashing globe persisted. However, after the reinstall I also got error messages about multiple kernel extension problems. Apple Support suggested USB triage—removing all USB devices and plugging them back in one at a time and restarting. With everything unplugged, startup was normal. The keyboard showed up immediately as the problem. Plugged in a spare keyboard and the flashing globe appeared no more.

  • Mac Book Does Not See XP as Option On Startup with 'Option' Key

After successful install of XP Pro, my Mac Book only shows the Mac HD on startup when I hold down the 'Option' key. Per instructions, this procedure is suppose to show both the Mac & Windows HDs and allow a choice at startup. Ant ideas how to fix?

    Hatter:
I now have a premise for this problem. I used an XP install disc that I received with a Compaq laptop that I purchased last year. HP/Compaq often write their own information to the boot section upon install of the operating system. If this happened when I installed XP from the Compaq disc then this HP/Compaq boot information may be interfering with the XP boot being seen at startup when the option key is pressed.
To prove this premise I need to know if you installed XP from a disc provide by an OEM under their brand such as HP. If so then we can conclude that the premise stated above is correct and that the solution would be to install a clean version of XP from MS.
    Can you help?

  • Does anyone see the green ball with this code in Flash Pro CC?

If you can see the green ball at the top let me know what you did, thanks. I have Windows 8 PhotoShop CC.  I am very new when I only have the code below open in Flash saved as a ".as" when I press CTRL+ENTER nothing happens. The problem I believe is when I open another new document or ".fla" file and when it allows me to preview the screen after pressing CTRL+ENTER there should be a green ball at the top of the page, but there isn't
P.S. WHen I click F-9 to bring up the code and then CTRL+ENTER its just a blank screen with #333333 as the stage color size 640 X 480 and 30 Frame Rate

  • Does anyone know how to view the amount of songs you have and how much data it takes up in the new iTunes?

i have downloaded the new itunes on to my computer, but cant find where it says how many songs you have and how much data they will take up on my phone. thanks

Just a comment that the playlist size only shows in List View (not Grid or Artist view).

If I understand correctly what you're referring to, View menu -> Show Status Bar.
For some peculiar reason this option does not show up for me (11.0.1).  I do see the "status bar" (i.e. size) of playlists at the bottom of each, and I know that I've seen this setting, but this View option seems to have vanished!

  • Status Bar in Mail 3?

With looking at the photos of Mail 3 I don't see a status bar (at the bottom or elsewhere), has it been mentioned if the status bar will be added back?

    Hi Daniel,
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup),  it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup
Note, in 10.5 & up /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/ does not exist.

  • SHOW STATUS BAR ON FORMS DISPLAYING ON OAS

Hi when we worked with forms 6i an all of our forms we had the status bar at the bottom of the form that showed us any error that happend in the forms as the famous ora-xxxxxx.
But when we migrated the forms to web we no longer see the status bar in the forms. This must be to some parameter in the formsweb.cfg file that we didnt set up right, so if anyone can point me to the right solution it would be really aprecciated.
    Thanks,

If your form module includes a window for the console window, then I am wondering if maybe your the height and width that you have defined in your formsweb.cfg file is larger than the size of your window in forms. I just made the height of my formsweb.cfg three times the value that it was and you don't see the bar at the bottom unless you use the scroll bar to scroll way down, but it is still there you just don't notice it. Have you tried adjusting the width and height properties in formsweb.cfg? Is a scroll bar displaying in the browser?

  • Why is the status bar purple with a microphone icon?

My status bar at the top is now purple with an microphone icon.  Why is this?

This occurs when you pair your iPhone to your in car audio system and start siri. If you look at the purple header carefully you will see the siri style mic logo on the right.
To get rid of the purple bar:
    1. Disconnect your iPhone from your car audio
    2. Invoke siri
    3. Switch siri off again without doing anything and the status bar should go back to normal.
