Does anyone use iScrapbook for making scrap pages?  Wanting some feedback.

I am having difficulty exporting my pages small enough for the commercial store to upload.  Any ideas?

Just a word on the PDF point: Acrobat Pro can do a great deal. If you need it, you need it. If you don't need it, though, use something else. I say this not just because Acrobat Pro is expensive, although it is, but because it is also a complete pain. In, of course, my opinion.
I have and use Acrobat Pro but I only use it when nothing else will do what I need. Otherwise, I use something else. Like I say, it depends on what you need.
At the simplest level, you can create a PDF by "printing to PDF" from pretty much any application on your Mac. This is likely not enough for your needs but it is worth bearing in mind if you are not already aware of it.
I've never created an ebook so I don't know what's involved and Acrobat Pro may be what you need. Just don't assume that because it can apparently "do it all" that it is the best choice for your needs. Even if expense is of no importance, that may not be the case.

  • Does Anyone Use Blender For 3D Video Titling? No It's Not A Food Processor!

. . . . . . . and if so, can they tell me how to make 3D titles that swivel and rotate etc. and can be put into FCP?
I downloaded Blender yesterday and after hours of struggling am completely bewildered!
I am even bewildered by the blender forums. I've posted 2 questions. One received a reply yesterday but I can no longer find it and the one I just posted has immediately disappeared into the ether!
Getting back to the app . . . . I can put titles in my choice of font on the Blender interface but I can't alter them from the default silver colour and I have no idea how to get them onto video. I don't know where I should be positioning them etc. and there is a whopping cube in the background.
It's like being able to start a car but then being incapable of driving it anywhere.
I am completely clueless . . . . and I suspect many others will also be clueless as to what I am rambling on about, but if there is anyone out there who does know what I mean, I would be very grateful for some guidance.
Incidentally, I have been told that everyone finds it impossible for 6 days, but after 7 days you suddenly become an expert. The trouble is that I won't last that long!

Thanks Kevin and Iain but I only want to dabble occasionally so there is no way I'm spending any more hard cash.
It was a demo of Kinemac that Videojam gave me a couple of days ago that kindled my interest, but when I saw the $299 price tag I started searching elsewhere.
This was my original 2 minute effort done using FCP's "Basic3D" filter which of course is not really 3D:-

This is Videojam's ten minute job done in Kinemac:-

  • Does anyone use RH7 for online help on their websites?

    Hi,
I'm finding that this product isn't usable for online help
within a website. Using the RH_ShowHelp() JavaScript calling
convestions triggers popup blockers on most of the major platforms
(Windows/IE, FF, Mac/FF). I don't understand why this is happenning
since the help and the page that links to the help are in the same
domain. Requiring customers to manually reconfigure their popup
blockers is not a viable solution.
On the one where it works (Mac/Safari) I'm left with a very
tiny window in the lower right corner. Expanding it shows the help,
but the page in the content pane is the file-not-found page
(clicking items in the navigation brings up the correct page). I'm
also seeing on the Mac (FF & Safari) that the Index &
Search areas aren't searchable like they are in Windows (no input
    box to search with).
When we asked Adobe about this the answer was more or less -
"that's how it works" and they gave us a link to the following page
detailing the limitations by browser (notice that it hasn't been
updated since 2004 and the newest IE is IE4).
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=rb_69353b&sliceId=2
I was hoping there would be a new RoboHelp_CSH.js file (it's
dated 2004) Ideally one that didn't rely on browser sniffing but
    instead checked for JavaScript capabilitites.
We missed testing this part when evaluating the product and
now it feels like a dead end.
Needless to say we've started moving on to other help
systems, but maybe someone can help save RH for us before we write
    it off completely.

    Welcome to our community, wjens
Hopefully you realize that you aren't forced to use the
WebHelp API to establish links to help.
Take a look at the following links:

  • Does anyone use Xfinity for their home Wifi?

If so, is yours very slow? Xfinity advertises lightning speeds but I am not getting anything close to fast! Please help!!

I have Xfinity and it works fine.  Have you called Comcast?  Are you only experiencing slow speeds on your phone or on all devices?  On my iPhone, my Wifi was a slow so I did a full reset of my internet and then reset my phone's network settings.  This seemed to speed things up.
    To reset internet:
Unplug wireless router electricity and then follow the below steps.  If you have phone service and your modem is also used for phone, it has a battery so you have to hit the reset button, you cannot just unplug its electricity:
    Cable Modem Users
Reset your cable modem by pressing and holding down the reset button, located on the front or back of your modem, for five seconds. If there’s no reset button, then power cycle your modem.
    To power cycle your modem:
    Shut down your computer.
Unplug the cable modem from the electrical outlet.
Wait 10 seconds, then plug the cable modem back into the electrical outlet.
Unplug your router from the electrical outlet.
    Plug your router back in.
Wait 30 seconds, then turn your computer back on.
XFINITY Internet & Voice Modem Users
    Shut down your computer
Find the reset button on the back of the unit.
Use a pen or any pointed, non-metallic object to press the reset button until you see the lights on the front of the unit go off.
Release the reset button and wait for the unit to cycle up (this may take up to five minutes).
Unplug your router from the electrical outlet.
    Plug your router back in.
Wait 30 seconds, then turn your computer back on.
    Reset phone's network settings.

    Not for imaging purposes.
You could have an environment that is ready-to-go with the bits installed, but not configured. You would then have a post-imaging script that would configure the farm. In this process, you would also need to make sure SQL Server was aware of the server's
    new name (see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143799.aspx).

  • Does anyone use a LaCie external hard drive with their Mac using imovie '09?  I have some questions.

Does anyone use a LaCie external hard drive with their Mac using imovie '09?  I have some questions.

Are you actually having a problem with the new Lacie drive, or are you just asking is the Lacie drive somehow different from your old G-Drive?
From a connection standpoint, most Lacie desktop drives have both USB and FireWire connections, just like the G-Drives do.  You would connect and use it the same as a G-Drive.
Regarding capturing to the external HD, if you are using a camcorder that has FireWire (iLink) connection, it is not advisable to have an external FireWire HD connected to your Mac at the same time as your camcorder; there are often communication conflicts between the camcorder and the hard drive if they are connected at the same time.  The conflicts usually appear as either dropped frames or a complete freeze.   This is more common with Canon miniDV camcorders but I have also seen this behavior with Sony miniDV camcorders.  (The problem is the camcorder's FW implementation, not the hard drive.)  The workaround is to capture to your Mac's internal HD and later copy the captured video to your external HD.

I am using Indesign CS6 (patches are up to date)

Do you already see this when starting the Print Booklet dialog or later when finally putting out? If you can see the dialog windows, will the preview show all pages in same size?

Does anyone have experience for disk damage and
loss for B1?  What's the procedure to get new one?
    Any cost involved.
    Regards,
    Kenneth

    Hi Kenneth
Usualy we take the strongest measures to avoid that and never let it come to that. You should of had back up's running on and off site. How bad is your problem?? I'm assuming you are talking abou a hard drive that is faulty. Have you tried restarting in Safe Mode??
You get experts that can retrieve data from a hard drive depending how bad the problem is. It usualy cost more than the Hard drive......but if you are desperate and value your data you'll do it.
    Hope this helps
