Does anyone with a 3000 N500 4233-6BU Having trouble with SP2?

I have a Lenovo 3000 N-500 4233-6BU   w/Vista 32bit Business service pack 1.   I have tried to install service pack 2 by windows update and by standalone D/L. i keep getting error messages and it reverts back to service pack 1. Does anybody out there know of a workaround or different method?  btw bios version is 6GET18WW (V1.09)

I have precisely the same problem and have posted on here without success.
Unfortunately, this site seems to rely on other users to help out, and Lenovo offer no support at all.

    Does anyone know a mouse solution for someone having parkinson disease?

    Thanks Les.
    FX has just provided an update that is suppose to fix this issue but the update fails to download...I guess I'll just wait a couple of hours until they fix it.
    In the meantime I turned off the plugin and it's now working. At the moment I just need to draw in illustrator so fonts aren't a worry for now.
    I appreciate your help

  • Drivers for Lenovo 3000 N500 4233-5FG notebook

    Hi everybody!
    yesterday I became my brandnew N500 4233-5FG notebook. Here are the specifications:
    http://www5.pc.ibm.com/europe/products.nsf/$wwwPartNumLookup/_NS75Fxx?open&OpenDocument&epi=web_express
    A friend of mine and I tried to install Win XP, but most of the drivers from the lenovo support HP don´t work. We´ve  read  lots of threads in this forum and all over the internet, but nothing helped!
    Here is what we did till here:
    1.switch from sata to ide
    2.forcing the notebook to boot with the optical drive, because otherwise it showed no reaction on the Win Xp CD
    3.installing Win XP
    4.installing the drivers from  http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=/product.do?template=%2Fproductpage%2...
    5.Win XP "runs" but almost all the drivers are announcing conflicts and as consequence nothing works (sound, LAN, and so on)
    6.then we installed the net framework and tried the drivers described by the user voyager in this thread:
    http://forums.lenovo.com/lnv/board/message?board.id=N_Series_Lenovo_3000&thread.id=8077&view=by_date...
    7.nothing worked
    8.then we installed Service Pack 3 for Win XP an tried again the drivers from the lenovo HP.
    9.there was no improvement, which means there are always the same problems as at the beginning...
    10. as it was 4 o clock in the morning and we had a very long day, we decided to go to sleep... ;.))
    Can anybody help me and/or has  anybody experience with exactly the same notebook than i have?? (n500 4233-5FG)
    It would be very helpfull to have some suggestions on how to do it right or perhaps anybody knows something about were to find the right drivers?!?
    Thank in advance and lots of greetings,
    Daniel

    I reviewed the link provided for your Lenovo 3000 N500 [Model Name: 42335FG, Part Number: NS75Fxx]
    Link:
    http://www5.pc.ibm.com/europe/products.nsf/$wwwPartNumLookup/_NS75Fxx?open&OpenDocument&epi=web_expr...
    At the bottom of the configuration table, under "SOFTWARE", it says "Supported operating systems" PC DOS 2000 (limited), Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Home Premium.
    It doesn't appear that the 3000 N500 [Model Name: 42335FG, Part Number: NS75Fxx] is intended to support XP.
    What am I missing here?

  • Does anyone with a PC/windows get this error message?,,,,,,

    I get this error message every time I open iTunes. "iTunes.exe has been set to run in compatibility mode for an older Version of Windows" It's the first thing that comes up. Although it doesn't affect the application from starting...it's really annoying. I've checked the compatibility mode and it's set off and it's current. When I have my computer check it on it's own it resets it and then I can't open iTunes at all. Any computer genius out there know why this is happening and how to fix it? I've also have installed iTunes about 100 times hoping it would fix the problem but it doesn't.

    Doublechecking ... are any of the boxes in the Compatibility mode tab for iTunes checked at the moment? If so, uncheck them all and see if iTunes will start properly again.
    If the iTunes compatibility tab has no checked boxes whatsoever, also check to make sure that your QuickTimePlayer.exe compatibility tab has no checked boxes whatsoever.
    If nothing is checked for either iTunes or QuickTime, you may be having trouble with an errant registry entry.
    If so, RandomBehavior's post may be of some assistance:

  • HT4946 does anyone with a 3GS have a preference as to where to do the data back up?

    i know it's become an antique, and i probably have waaaay to much info on it, but my 32gb 3GS is getting harder and harder to raise from the dead.
    i have an appt tomorrow to have it looked at at the genius bar - as they are the ones who Know All and Can Fix All - to see if a new battery is in order or do i need a new phone.
    oh goodness me- engage in this century?  about time!
    before i go in i'll need to do a back up, i don't believe i've ever performed one before and was hoping someone in AppleLand might share thier prefrence of backing up into the cloud or into iTunes, and why they made that choice.
    i'm very interested in the why's behind the decisions and thank everyone who can take a minute to help a gi9rl make an informed decision about what my best choice will be.
    Thanks
    shellilouwho

    IMO, i would prefer doing a back up in both
    just in case if one fails, then you won't have to worry because you have another
    although there are some limitations with regards to the two
    itunes --> you need a computer to do this, either you are connected to that computer, or your device and the computer are on the same wifi network (wifi syncing), the amount of back up would be bigger considering that
    you use the hard drive of your computer to do this
    icloud --> your back ups are save in the cloud, you need the internet to do this and a functional iOS device. The amount of free storage is limited to 5gb (you can increase it with a certain amount to be paid).
    there are other differences between the two, why not create a test account and experiment on them, still. Its your decision. Having a back-up is always good.

  • Very simple: Does anyone with the 2.16GHz have the whine?

    I'm starting to notice something. Of all of the users who are (rightfully) complaining about the whine problem, it seems that none of them are those with the 2.16GHz upgrade. I recently ordered my MacBook Pro (and therefore do not have it), but a quick glance over the forums affirms my suspicion.
    I could be completely wrong; I didn't have the time to completely delve into the many "whine" threads, so this topic will solve this matter fairly quickly!

    I Just recieved my 2.16GHz MBP today, and it does not have to LCD inverter buzz. I do however have a slight CPU whine but it is not terrible. Furthermore, I don't care much for notebook trackpads and am using a bluetooth mouse. The Mac Book is silent when the mouse is connected. I've read on these forums, that Apple knows of the CPU whine issue and a software update will be released. So far this is a very cool machine. I am calibrating the battery so I haven't tried out everything yet. By the way, I am using The MouseBT by Chwang Yi (formally MacMice) and I like it so far. I like that it's very similar to the Mighty Mouse which I use on my G4. Good Luck with your MacBook!

  • Window 7 RC installed on Lenovo 3000 N500 4233 52U

    I purchased a new WD Scorpio Blue HDD (320GB) today and installed Windows 7 RC. This was one of the easiest OS installations I've ever experienced. Windows had drivers for all hardware with the exception of the Card Reader. I was able to download the Win Vista driver off the Lenovo support site which took care of the problem. The touch pad had basic functionality but lost the scroll feature with the driver off the installation CD. I installed the Win Vista driver from the support site which fixed the scroll functionality. Even with a Celeron processor the system seems (to me at least) to perform much better. What impressed me was that, when I checked the hardware screen and it showed a some type of hardware had not installed (the typical cryptic message), there was a link that took you to a page showing what the hardware was and its manufacturer (that was the card reader). This significantly speeded up the time troubleshooting the installation. I'm impressed with the job Microsoft did not this version of Windows!

    The chipset for this computer is SL40 - but I cannot find the correct textmode and other drivers for SATA.  Can anyone help me?
    I know about the nlite program and I know how to slipstream WindowsXP but I need to find the drivers.
    Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me.

  • Does anyone with a nano know how to put pic to it?

    i have windows xp. and i want to get photos on my nano but i dont know how. so i was wondering if anyone knows how.

    See your other thread.

  • Does anyones macbook pro ACTUALLY WORK w/o having to be repaired?

    Did anyone in the whole forum get a macbook that never had to be repaired/called in for to fix?
    Sounds like their quality control went out the window with this one.. im waiting on my second unit today and reading the forums is just depressing because its probably going to be screwed up too..

    My guess is that the majority of MBPROs have some issue or other right off the bat. Maybe this isn't true of the latest models coming off the production line - say in the last few weeks - but I'd bet money that it's true of 80%+ of the older machines. And I'm also restricting my claim to the 15-inch models, as I have been paying much less attention to the 17-inch model.
    The reason I say this is not merely because of all the complaints on the forum. Nor am I claiming this based on the repair history of my own personal machine. Rather, I say this because it's possible to take some particular MBPRO issue that is discussed here on the forum, and to go into your local Apple Store and duplicate this issue on every single machine!
    Two examples of this are the notorious 'whine', and the right speaker distortion issue. Since early June I've been into the local Apple store every 2-3 weeks, and until very recently (roughly 2 weeks ago) I hadn't found a single MBPRO that didn't exhibit the whine. Ditto for the right speaker distortion issue.
    Now maybe I am being overly picky, and we should really consider these machines as 'working just fine'. But the fact is that there are widespread manufacturing defects/design flaws, as these issues are reproducible on the majority of the older systems. People who are less picky than I am are obviously not going to complain, as they don't consider their machines to be flawed.
    I'd like to say that the majority of recently-built MBPROs are free of these issues, but I haven't had much experience with the newer machines... If I keep going into the store and failing to find the issues, then I'll change my tune about the build quality. But it would be nice if I weren't going into the store every 2-3 weeks in the first place!

  • TS1702 Does anyone know what this means and how to trouble shoot it? "This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled."

    I am unable to update any apps on my computer due to this--thoughts?

    All apps, and any other content, that is downloaded from the store are tied to the account that downloaded them. Were those apps bought by a different iTunes account, or bought by the account that you are currently logged in with but you have been refunded for their purchases ? If neither of the above then try logging out of your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > Sign Out menu option, close and re-open iTunes, sign back into your account and retry and see if it then works.

  • HT5569 on my wifi page  linksys what does the  Renew Lease  mean?   I'm having trouble staying connected to my home wifi, does this have anything to do with that?

    I'm having trouble staying connected to my home Wifi, it keeps going to 3G (I have never had this problem until today) When it is connected while I'm close to the router I click on the circled i after the linksys  & it goes to the IP adress stuff, down a little waysafter the DNS & sarch domains it says Renew Lease - should I click on that?

    DHCP is the system that dynamically assigns ip addresses from a pool of addresses.
    You get a lease for the ip addresses. After the lease is up, the ip addresses is released and put back in the pool.
    You get assigned another ip address.
    Renewing the lease releases the IP address and assigns you a new one.
    It will not cause any harm.

  • Does anyone has problem with the Glossary tab in RB8?

    The glossary tab does'nt show on *CHM file. Does anyone has that problem?
    1) Install RH8 on XP SP2 and register hhactivex.dll
    2) Start RH8
    3) Create new project.
    4) Click on '+' sign of Glossary from Project Manager to expand it and double click the Glossary(Default) to show the GLossary Pod.
    5) Type 'First' in the Term input field on the Glossary Pod, and click the + button to add it.
    6) Go to the 'Definition for :first section of the Pod and type in 'First'
    7) Save and generate the CHM file
    This is the first time I create a new project in RH8 with Glossary.
    If I import a previous project created with RoboHelp for Office X4 which has Glossary, and convert project to RH8 format and generate the CHM file, then the CHM file has the Glossary tab.
    I can't possibly beleive it is a bug in RH8 . However, what mistake did I make?
    This happens on XP SP2, RH 8.0.0.0.203, on XP SP3 with RH 8.0.2.208, on Win7 with RH 8.0.2.208. Basically, it doesn't matter on what PC we install RH8, doesn't matter how many time you register hhactivex.dll, the glossary tab never shows up. Howver, it shoes up on Winhelp.
    Thanks

    Hi there
    No, I don't believe they are ameteurs. Besides, some ameteurs do better work than "professionals".
    To be fair, some bugs are elusive. We may see them and report them but when the development team examines things they repeatedly and stubbornly fail to reveal themselves.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Does anyone know how to filter all items in an XMLListCollection?

    I have a tree with the following structure.
    <node>
    <node1>
    <node2>
    <node3 />
    <node4 />
    <node5 />
    </node2>
    </node1>
    </node>
    I need to be able to filter on node 3, 4 and 5 and then after
    the filter if they don't exist get rid of node 2 level and then do
    another filter function to check if node 2 level is there and if
    not.. then filter out node 1 level. Basically this is a bottom up
    filter. In Flas 2.0 I would filter out the base level by deleting
    nodes.. and then run through the next level and check if they had
    any children or not.. if they didn't then I would delete them.. and
    then I would repeat the step for the last level.
    Does anyone know how to do this without having to remove the
    items from the collection.. basically perform a filter rather then
    a delete. I know the filter function only returns the first element
    of the xml struct.. which is annoying. If anyone can help me out I
    would sure appreciate it?
    Thanks

    I guess the filtering on a tree only passes in the root
    nodes... This is hugely lame on Flex's part. I basically had to
    make my own functions to delete the nodes dynamically.
    Remember this only works on an array item which is dynamic.
    delete list
    To make this work I have a main TreeCollection... and from
    that I made a copy. Treecollection.copy() and deletes stuff from
    the copied struct. After the deletions were done I then assigned
    the copy to the MyTree.dataprovider = copy.
