Does anything get charged to your credit card?

Just got an ipod touch 8gb today... as I signed up i had to provide credit card info&it said they will only use it if purchases are made. Would they charge your card for anything?& is the itunes card as long as you type in the number and regestir it is it good for all ipod purchases? such as music apps&tv shows??
Thanks

Gifts are when you want to send one or more iTunes Store items to another person and pay for them yourself. This includes purchasing gift cards and certificates.

First, if you're using an iOS device, make sure that you did not inadvertently make an in-app purchase. Many apps, particularly games, are free for the base game but charge for additional features such as levels, "coins" and other such add-ons. Check your Purchase History to see if that reminds you as to what you might have purchased:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2727
If you find that these were in-app purchases, to prevent this from happening again, turn off "In App purchases" in the Restrictions settings on your device. For more information, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4213
As to a refund, that's not automatic since the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact.html
They're usually pretty lenient in the case of inadvertent purchases, but there are no guarantees.
If the charges are not in-app purchases that you made and forgot but the charges do appear in your Purchase History, contact the iTunes Store and let them know. You should also immediately change your password for your Apple ID. If the charges don't appear in your Purchase History, they were probably fake charges made directly to your credit card, and your card issuer will need to handle those.
    Regards.

Normally the credit is used up first before the system falls back to a credit card to cover a balanced not covered completely by the credit on the account.

On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link.  If you are doing it on an iOS device (iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch) then try tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and selecting 'View Apple ID' on the popup - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.

If you don't get the 'none' option then do you owe iTunes anything : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5366 ?

  • HT204088 why do i keep getting charged on my credit card for itunes when i havent used it

Why do i keep getting charged for stuff on itunes when i havent purchased any thing in a while

You've checked the purchase history on your account, as per the page that you posted from, does anything show ? If you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases.
If nothing shows on your account, and you haven't got any auto-renewing subscriptions and you've only got the one account, then you could try contacting iTunes Support and see if they know where the charges are coming from : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption. But if nothing shows on your account then you may also want to contact your card issuer.

  • Why was i charged on my credit card $15.95 when i didn't approve any purchase or give my credit card # to anyone

my credit card was charged $15.95 and i don't know why. never made any purchase and never gave my credit card # to anyone.

How is that related to Firefox support?
Sounds like an issue to take up with the company that made that charge or your credit card company.

If these charges are being made to a credit or debit card, the most immediate thing you need to do is to call your credit card company or bank and report the unauthorized charges. That company can contact Apple if they need additional information.
Next, log into your iTunes Store account and see if the purchases are reflected in the Purchase History. If they are, immediately change the password to your iTunes Store account, making sure it's not something easily guessed or looked up. Then go here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store. There will be no way to determine what device the purchase was made from nor a location (not without a court order to Apple and to the relevant ISP, anyway).
If the charges are not reflected in the Purchase History, then it's most likely a fraudulent charge to your credit card directly rather than an unauthorized purchase through your iTunes Store account in which case it will be up to your bank to handle.
    Regards.

  • Undue GEEK SQUAD charge on my credit card

    Dear Madam/Sir,
today my husband and I have discovered the charge for a GEEK SQUAD Renewal (RENE00015826) we never asked for.
The charge, amounting to 41,85 euro (we are living in Europe for the time being), occurred on Sep. 30 2014 on a prepaid visa card belonging to my husband (named Paolo {removed per forum guidelines}.
By browsing in a few internet chats, I discovered that such a charge often relates to an automated renewal of anti-virus software that was implemented in computers of Best Buy customers.
    I kindly ask you:
    1) If I can be refunded for this unrequested good
    2) How to prevent for sure that the same charge occurs again in the future.
    Best regards,

  • Does adding your credit card to iTunes Store Charge anything to you?

Because I want to create an account, but before I do I need to know if it's going to charge anything to my bank account for doing so.

You will probably see a $1.00 "charge" (or equivalent in local currancy) on your credit card. It's really not a charge but a hold. Once the iTunes Store has verified the card, the hold will be removed. You will not actually have given the store any money.

When you register your credit card for the first time in Mac App store, Does Apple put through a 1 dollar charge to verify the card ? Please I need this answer so as to download the latest Mountain Lion upgrade. Thnx in advance.

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
Many folks have reported that this is true. However, the charge is not taken to the second step of completing the charge and the $1 revolves back to your account.
