Does apple Build and ship on Satudays?

I am finally buying my 3.06Ghz, 4 gig ram, 1tb HD, Imac. And tomorrow is Tax Free Weekend for me (saves like $300 by buying it tomorrow).
And I was wondering. If I order it at 9am est on Friday. Is there a good chance Apple will start building it Friday. And get it ready for shipping on Satuday. And it will sit at Apple/Delivery place Warehouse on Sunday. And arrive by Tuesday?
I have never purchased a Apple item costing over $500 from Apple (or anywhere)(Got a brand new 60 gig Ipod in like 05) and I cant wait to get the mac.

Apple doesn't actually start building your iMac after you order it, even if you configure it. I'm sure it ships based on what is in inventory. I got my last Mac order from Apple (a refurb) the next day, because it shipped from about 100 miles away.
If this is your state's program for "Sales Tax Holiday," you should check to see if it applies to ordering online from an out-of-state merchant. Apple is making out the invoice, so Apple would need to apply the +no sales tax+ benefit. Depending on your state of residence, Apple may not even charge sales tax for online orders. I often buy more expensive items from Amazon.com (or other online vendor), because there is no sales tax (and usually no shipping either).

  • HT204478 Does Apple upload and preserve the metadata from my photographs, if I do NOT enable iCloud Photo Sharing?

Are the dates, physical locations and recognized faces uploaded to any Apple servers from Photos at ANY time when I have iCloud Photo Sharing turned off?
If so, does Apple preserve and use this data for any purpose?

I just tried with a different iCloud account and it worked! So the problem is with my iCould account... unfortunately, it might not be very easy to troubleshoot.
UPDATE: When I signed back in to my normal iCloud account it still worked! I'm not sure what signing in with the other account did but it obviously helped! Thank you so much for your help!

  • Question on Processing, Building, and Shipping

Hello, I just ordered a Lenovo Z50 Laptop (Model 59436278, Preset) and I was wondering how long it will take. I have seen people complain how their custom made ones took over a month to deliver. I actually seen one that took 6 months. But for a preset, unpopular model, I was wondering how long it would take to build and ship. Delivery time I am not working about. I am hoping I will get it before April 16th.

As Hemant indicated the correct answer would be

    Instance Recovery Phases
The first phase of instance recovery is called cache recovery or rolling forward, and involves reapplying all of the changes recorded in the online redo log to the data files. Because rollback data is recorded in the online redo log, rolling forward also regenerates the corresponding undo segments.
Rolling forward proceeds through as many online redo log files as necessary to bring the database forward in time. After rolling forward, the data blocks contain all committed changes recorded in the online redo log files. These files could also contain uncommitted changes that were either saved to the data files before the failure, or were recorded in the online redo log and introduced during cache recovery.
After the roll forward, any changes that were not committed must be undone. Oracle Database uses the checkpoint position, which guarantees that every committed change with an SCN lower than the checkpoint SCN is saved on disk. Oracle Database applies undo blocks to roll back uncommitted changes in data blocks that were written before the failure or introduced during cache recovery. This phase is called rolling back or transaction recovery.

  • How long does Apple build their computers to last?

I do not think you will get an aswer to that question, as I do not believe there is one.  No electronics manufacturer builds a system with a specific lifespan.  You may be able to compute one, based on the minimum MTBF of the components, but not all components have such data available, and even then MTBF is often a very poor measure of effective lifespan  Also, things like MTBF are highly dependent on the specifics of use and environment of operation, so vary tremendously in the real world.
Its a bit like asking how long anything is designed to last - until a critical operational part fails but that will vary widely, especially for products produced and sold in the tens or hundreds of millions of units all over the globe.
I've had hard drives that have failed within days or weeks of being new out of the box, and others that have lasted for literally decades.  My old powerbook G4 is now 7 years old and still runs (one RAM slot is non-functional), the Acer Windows box beside it is the same age, and has been turned off for maybe all of a month or two in the past 7 years.  My main MBP is 4 years old this year and still works perfectly, although it got a new battery recently.
Even if manufacturers do have some form of estimating aggregate expected operational life of their assembled machines, I doubt they will ever talk about them to the public - there is just no way to come up with a single meaningful estimate that anyone but a statistician or an engineer would truly understand and appreciate.
You will note that car manufacturers also never mentioned anything like a "design" life span - same issue - just way too many variables to consider to reduce things to a single estimated value.
I'd bet Apple, like any other company, "intends" them to last, as long as they last, whatever that may be for any particular unit and particular owner.

  • Does Apple TV and Optical Audio Connection work?

I've read several posts regarding this issue and I'm a little confused.  Does the Optical Audio work on the Apple TV (generation 3), because I haven't been able get it to work.  I get sound but no stereo/surround sound.  Yet, using the same connection out of my Receiver for my PS3 I do get stero/surround sound.  Have I missed a setting on the Apple TV?

Is there away I can check the Apple TV Optical Audio connection to see if it's working?  The physical connection seems to be fine.  Since the connection to A/V Reciever works, as confirmed by my PS3, I can only assume the Apple TV Optical Audio connection is faulty.  Other ideas on how I might validate if the Apple TV Optical Audio connection is truly "broken."

  • Why does apple try and make you pay for something you haven't received then they blackmail you by blocking my iPad from receiving updates?

My daughter tried to purchase an order with a maxed out credit card, she then canceled the order or rather tried to. Since that I haven't been able to update my apps nor download free ones. So I contract apple they return an email to me saying that I must pay for the order I don't want let alone did not receive, I return the email within two minutes since then nothing. They say I must pay for the order or I will not be able to use my apps. This is the **** I have begun to expect from Icrap steve jobs we miss you.

@roaming lah blah whatever check your appleophile crap at the door I received nothing they received nothing I'm not paying for nothing I would pay if they had mistakenly sent something and didn't receive payment but they sent me nothing therefor this is absolutely blackmail to attempt to coerce me into paying for a sale never completed as far as all sales are final well where does that apply smartass? A definition of sale is payment rendered for product received. Neither one applies they tried to process my card NSF that means they don't send product, correct Sherlock or am I guessing that you think a major conglomerate always has the little guys best interests at heart? This is a ludicrous issue from apple, especially after I bought a basic toy that can't compute as much as a net book from acer for three times the price Nuff.  Said

  • Why does apple ipad and iphone have problems with comcast?

We attempt to send pictures through our comcast wifi account and gets to about 90%and freezes. Have reset modem, and router, have turned off phone and reset it. Have switched to 4G then pictures will send. Only has problem when connected to wifi. As my ipad is wifi, I cannot send pictures at all with it.
Did not have this problem until iOS 6 update.
    Any suggestions?

My iPad and other devices have no problems with Comcast, but I didn't get my WiFi router from them. If you did, your router may need a firmware update, or you may need to get a different model of router.

  • Build and Capture

I am deploying Windows 7( 64 bit) Via SCCM 2012. It was working fine but last weekend as i wanted to update our image, tried todo a build and capture its failing at "Prepare ConfigMgr Client. The client cache is currently in use by a running program
or by a download in progress. (Error: 87D01203; Source: CCM)" I have switched off Updates and it worked fine. I have tried to search for this errors but for the life of me unable to find answer for it so far.
Has any once come across this issue and fixed? please let me know.
    Thanks
    Hassan

    Hi Jorgen,
Yes I am installing applications in Build and Capture. What i did this morning was, I  turned off Updates and did a build and capture with Apps installation only and it worked fine. Then i switched off Applications installation part of it and turned
on Updates and it worked too. The strange thing that i saw over the weekend was that : The first time around it detects 135 updates for Windows 7, installs them and reboot the machine, then i have put in another update task just in case if there are any missing
updates. It said that there were 127 Updates missing. Then downloads them with in a minute or so. Doesn't really installs them as it goes to reboot the machine and then continues on with the rest of TS.
Today when i was testing with it just updates, second time around it detected only 6 updates, downloaded and installed them as per normal and continued on with the rest of TS.
Could it be that an update that was applicable didnt get downloaded properly on to the server?
I am in the process of doing a Build and capture with both Updates and applications turned on. Will update this post once its done.
Thanks alot for your reply though.

  • OPM "build and run" error

    Hi
I have a problem with OPM when I use "build and run".
I only get a message "The system cannot find the file specified" and nothing more. It has worked, but it used to open Google Chrome browser. Since I did not want this behaviour I uninstalled Google Chrome. But then I got this error instead.
I can run "build and debug" prefectly fine.
The problem is not related to a specific project.
I have also tried to reinstall OPM but the problem remains.
What file is it the system cannot find? Is there a way of finding this in a log somewhere?
How does the "build and run" command work? Is there a way of checking why it can not open the browser?
    kind regards,
    Michael

    Hi Andrew
Just to add some more observations.
It seems that OPM doesn't look directly to the default browser setting. If I change the default browser, OPM does not directly recognize the new setting. OPM opens the previous selected default browser anyway.
I dont know if the setting is unique per project or if it is per OPM installation.
OPM seems to pick up the default browser, but then OPM caches this somewhere. Which caused problem for me when I uninstalled Google Chrome. OPM insisted on trying to start Google Chrome anyway.
When I now got Firefox working as default browser the problem solved it self. But when I selected IE as default browser, then when I ran OPM it still opened Firefox, and Firefox gave me the warning that it was not default browser.
So OPM does not always look at the default browser setting.
    kind regards,
    Michael

  • Install Software Updates in a WIndows 7 build and capture shooses wrong SUP

    Hi,
    My environment is the following.
One SCCM 2012 R2 Primary site server in a trusted domain, MP, DP and SUP. This site is reachable from the clients on the internal  network.
One SCCM 2012 R2 server in an untrusted forest, MP, DP and SUP. This server is NOT reachable from clients on the internal nrowotk.
I am doing a build and capture of Windows 7 using a SCCM TS on a VM on the internal network.
When the Install Updates task Is running the SCCM client is trying to use the SUP in the untrusted forest instead of the one in the local trusted forest.
How do I force the SCCM client to use the local SUP instead of the one in the untrusted forest.
    According to
http://blogs.technet.com/b/configmgrteam/archive/2013/03/27/software-update-points-in-cm2012sp1.aspx it should prioritize the one in the local forest, but the build and capture PC is not member of the AD so it looks like it just uses the SUP that is
first in the list from the MP.
The blog also states that the SUP will not be shifted to the next one in the list before 4 failed scans at 30 minutes intervals so it will take more than 4 hours before the SCCM client will try the next SUP. At that time the TS has long finished the
    Software Update task.
I thought about creating an entry in the hosts file on the capture PC with the name of the untrusted SUP and the IP of the trusted SUP to redirect the client to use the trusted SUP. I solution that might work but that I find very ugly.
What can I do to force the SCCM client on the build and capture PC to us the internal trusted SUP?

The SUP info cannot be got from the Internal MP. Please review the Smsts.log file.

  • How to integrate NI Vision Builder and Lab view 8.0

    Hi to all.,
I want to integrate NI vision builder and Labview.... Please give me the idea and procedures to be followed........

    Hello Tec-sol,
Are you using the Vision Builder for Automated Inspection? If you are, then you can create LabVIEW code. In the configuration interface go to Tools>>Migrate Inspection to LabVIEW. To do this you will need to have the Vision Development module installed.
Or are you using the Vision Builder? Depending on the version of the vision builder you are using you can also generate LabVIEW code.
If you want your code to run in LabVIEW I would suggest that you create your code with the Vision Assistant (this has replaced the Vision Builder, and ships with the Vision Development Module). The Vision Builder for Automated Inspection is intended to be a standalone application.

  • Does Viewer Builder's Bundle ID and Apple's SKU need to be the same?

I'm working with Adobe Viewer Builder and iTunes Connect and I've realized my Bundle ID and apple SKU (com.example.example) are not the same. Will this create a problem when I submit the app to apple? And is there an easy way to edit and change the Bundle ID in Viewer Builder?
If this is a problem, how do I delete the app from Viewer Builder? The delete button in Viewer Builder in inactive, I can't press it. I've unpublished the folio from folio producer but I can't seem to remove my app from Viewer Builder.

The Bundle ID is generated automatically when you create the App ID on the Apple developer side. For each app you create, you need to use the iOS Provisioning Portal to create a new App ID. Then, after you create the app using Viewer Builder, you use iTunes Connect to start the app submission process.
Unpublishing folio will not remove/delete your build in viewer builder. If you have Professional or Enterprise edition you can edit your build by clicking on Edit button in viewer builder.

hi, my name is Laith I'm from Iraq I just want to know what are the steps for buying a new iphone 5 from apple store and how to ship it to Iraq ???? and I would be grateful for you

Legality aside (I'm not a lawyer and have no opinion on the matter) in order to make a purchase of an iPhone 5 you would need to travel to a country where they are for sale and purchase it there. Be sure to get one that is officially unlocked or you would not be able to use it with your cell carrier. Be sure that your carrier supports use of the iPhone before you buy. Also note that the warranty of the iPhone is only valid in the country of purchase.
Appe does not ship outside of the countries where it sells the phones.
