Does apple care for macbook pro cover water damage?

I just wanted to know if apple care for Macbok pro covers water damage. I mean, it should seeing as I paid over $200 for it.

No. AppleCare is an extension to the warranty. The warranty does NOT cover damage only material and workmanship of the ortiginal product.

No.  Terms of the warranty call that "abuse".
    You can hope, and try:
Turn it off, leave it off
Put it in a pile of "dessicant packs" (shipping packs found in hard disk boxes), possibly in a plastic bag (NOT rice -- that has rice-dust which gets into the unit)
Maybe try turning it on again in about 4-5 days
But this is really a desperation move, and I would not do it myself (although others say they have tried it).
Most likely you are paying for either a repair or a new unit.

  • Apple Care for Macbook Pro 15''

I know this question has been asked a million times but i really do not know whether i should buy it or not. Its less than 10 days before the warranty expires and i still do not know whether i should or not. Nothings much been wrong with my macbook its just sometimes the airport goes funny but after i go to the diagnostics thing, it gets fixed up and occassionally whenever the macbook is asleep, i remember once or twice the screen was black and i had to restart the computer and everything was fine afterwards...should i buy it or not? i have 3 days to decide!
Its just $429 for applecare (AUS) is quite expensive for another 2 years - but i'm scared something will happen as i use the macbook EVERYDAY (always putting it to sleep - is this good for the mac?) and i'm planning to take it to uni next year. My mum says not to buy it cos its so expensive for another two years. And if you guys say buy off ebay - how do you know its authentic? And if like something does happen (touch wood) how much do repairs cost? (e.g. the battery, display, airport or something inside)? How long does the macbook last?
What should i do? Pleaseee help me decide, i really do not know!! Also, if you purchase it the day before it expires, will it still work? Thanks in advance!

You can purchase it any time before the 1 year warranty expires.
Part of this is a matter of if you can afford a repair to a computer.  Some prefer to pay up front for peace of mind.  Notebook repairs are expensive!  With everything being soldered together to withstand movement they have to replace whole sections, not just a little plug-in card.
Desktops from years ago lasted longer.  My 10 year old G4 is still running strong.  Frankly I don't think you'll find any 10 year old notebooks out there, and moreover, you won't see many of today's delicate notebooks around in 10 years.  I recall one person posting here saying that notebooks have a nominal 3 year lifespan.  Oh, they do last longer, but they aren't as robust as older computers, nor (dare I say it) designed to last as long since a computer that's more than 4 years old is thought by a major computer company to basically be on its way to the recycling center.
Notebook computers are not as easy to repair as desktop models from 10 years ago.  I can swap out a drive in a matter of minutes in my computer.  A notebook drive involves probably 30 screws and gently prying delicate items apart.

  • It's about apple care for macbook pro 13", i'm following their registration process and at the 3rd step(final) the page is not responding not even redirecting for registration conformation! what to do with it?

Need help, or else will lost my Rs.15k.

It could be as simple as a glitch with their server; but, we don't know for sure, so I'd suggest calling Apple (800-275-2273 in the US) and telling them that you want to  register Applecare (tell them the website is not responding). You have 364 days from the date of purchase of your computer to register.
What do you mean by "lost my Rs.15k."?

  • Do apple protection plan for macbook pro cover retina or is it just macbook pro

does apple care for macbook pro 15"/17" also cover til macbook with retina or not??

Covers all Mac models. Just be sure to order the correct AC item for YOUR specific model. Price is contingent on the model covered.
Edit: it appears that the AC 15" MBP package covers the regulars and the Retinas as well for that size. To be on the safe side, pick the Retina option from the list:

  • HT4528 does apple care for iphone cover theft?

I am trying to decide whether to get apple care for new iphone or verizon insurance for my daughter.  I am most worried about breakage, but she is traveling this summer so a little concerned about theft?
Also for breakage which plan is better?

AppleCare plus is an enhanced warranty which will extend the warranty and phone support to 2 years, cover manufacturing defects and allow for two out-of-warranty replacements due to breakage, water damge, etc. for a $49 deductible. It does not cover theft or loss.

  • Does Apple replace faulty MacBook Pro with retina in Asia?

I bought a MacBook Pro with retina display in July 2012. Recently my MBPr developed some issues. I feel like something moves (or slides to and fro) inside the Mac when I take out the computer from the bag and hold it in my hand. I don't know whether I have been able to explain the issue as I'm not a native English speaker. I contacted the retailer I bought the Mac from. They told me they can only change the faulty parts if there are any, but they cannot replace the Mac for a new one because  Apple does not replace any Mac in Asia. The prerogative is only in Asia, Europe, Australia and the US. Is it really the case? If things turn out that Apple cannot make good on its warranty without replacing the Mac what shall they do in that case? Could you pls explain?

As best I know, after 14 days Apple will repair your MBP if it is within the warranty period for free.  In rare instances, if they have not been able to repair it after several attempts, they may replace it.  I suggest contacting Apple and ship your MBP to the for inspection/repair or bring it to an Apple store or an Apple reseller.
    Ciao.

  • Apple Care for macbook

Hey, If I purchase a macbook can I buy Apple care like 2 months later?. It isn't that cheap and I want to purchase 2 gig of RAM first...

You have up to a year to purchase Applecare, though after 90 days you won't have phone support until you purchase it. That is, they'll ask you for a credit card number after 90 days if you need to know how to empty the trash. If you have a repair issue, you won't be charged (unless they find that it really isn't a repair issue after all).

  • Does apple fix stuck macbook pro track pad?

my track pad on the right is stuck. I can still click on things a little bit but is there a way i can take it to the apple store and they fix it?

Your appointment at the Apple Store for an evaluation of the problem is FREE, in warranty or out-of-warranty.
If they can fix it in about 20 minutes without using parts, they generally will, for FREE.
The Apple Store is NOTHING like going to the Car Dealer.

  • My girlfriend's macbook pro got water damage, but her Skype seems to be active..

My girlfriend's Macbook Pro 13'  got water damage and seems to have made her computer unusable, this happened three days agol. Since then she decided to not try using her computer to avoid ruining it further. But recently her Skype has been online and is even callable sometimes. Is this an indication of good news? What does this mean?

Liquid spills, why your MacBook chassis is a one-way valve for spills
After a substantial spill many people will turn their notebook upside down and shake it, not only does this not work, but it spreads liquid havoc throughout your machine and makes things often as bad as possible.
The keyboard itself acts like a one way valve in the case of a substantial liquid spill. While liquid pours into the bottom chassis easy, it does not come out easily at all, and in the case of any spill, most of it will not come out by turning it upside down. Disconnect all power and contact Apple for diagnostics and repair.
Do not attempt to, after a spill, ‘dry out your MacBook’ and test it
After a spill most people invariably try to “dry out” their notebook by various methods, including hair dryers and otherwise. This both does not work, and after a substantial spill of any magnitude, even if the liquid was water, residue is left behind.
There are additionally many very tight places inside your notebook where liquids will linger for a very long time, and cause corrosion or worse.
Immediately unplug your notebook and contact Apple for in shop diagnostics and parts replacement.
In the case of very minor spills people will “dry out” their notebook and feel success that their notebook is working ok, however invariably in nearly all instances after 4-14 days an error / fault pops up and is usually followed by more.
In case of a spill, damage estimates are impossible,.....anything can be fixed, without question.......the question is cost.
contact Apple for in shop diagnostics and cost estimation ....possible parts replacement.

  • Macbook pro 17'' water damage... battery kindaaa works

Like a million other people asking questions on here...I spilled coffee on my Late 2011 macbook pro 17'' and encountered problems since. After the damaged I followed all the recommended steps to make sure I could try to limit any damage that has occurred...and was some what successful. I can still use my computer while its plugged in...A black x is in corner telling me no battery installed. This happened a year ago and Im still using the computer while plugged in. Ive looked into further fixing it and removed the logic board and cleaned it and it didnt change any thing. I have noticed that if I start the computer up, and then restart it I can remove the power cord while its rebooting and the computer will work unplugged. The black x is still there, telling me no battery is installed...but I am in fact running off batter power...Now I know I should consider myself lucky that I can get away with this but my question is, is there any other things I could look into to get this computer to give me correct battery information? New battery (even though it runs under battery power) or new battery connecter (even though its giving the computer power) or anything else along the line that is replaceable?
Some more info....Can not reset SMC, nothing at all happens...when running AHT the macbook freezes....After the reboot trick, if put to sleep with no power cord it wont wake up, BUT if restarted with no power cable it will boot up and continue to work without the power cord.
I am thinking theres a weird short somewhere in the logic board but didnt know if anything else could be faulty to causes this weird behavior.
After re reading that I know it can be difficult to follow, but if theres anymore info I could give let me know.
    Thanks

This could be all or some of the above.
Unfortunatly electrons are considerably faster than humans, you did all all the right things, but us carbon based units are slow.
The battery/connections may have suffered damage, as well as the MagSafe port/connector/cable.
You can make an appointment at an Apple store Genius bar, and have it disgnosed, the diagnosis is free. They will then give you your options, as well as explain the extent of the damage. Unfortunatly liquid damage is the worst, they have the resources to do a full disgnostic, and deal with this everyday. This will at the least, the known extent of your issue(s) as well as the repair pricing.
It is impossible for anyone here to give you any further advice. (at least that I have seen)
I hope this helps you, and things work out in your favor.
    I hope this helps
