Does apple charge me for linking my credit card to my apple account?

Hello, I tried to link my prepaid credit card to my apple id but it didnt linked since my credit card is from other country. But when I checked my credit card balance it got deducted. what should i do?

The charge is temporary. Each time that you add/change card detailsa small temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the card details are correct and valid and that it's registered to exactly the same name and address as on your iTunes account - your card issuer should remove within a few days or so.
Store holding charge : http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT3702
As pre-paid cards aren't registered to an address then they will fail the validation. And you can't use a card issued by another country's bank.

I think you are leaving a LOT out of this message. That bill from 20 yrs ago probably was only for 1 line, included NO minutes(you probably paid at least $0.30/minute for calling maybe more plus long distance) OR data. With you current bill of almost $200, it looks as if you have multiple lines, you DO have minutes, long distance is included, and you have 3G or 4G data(neither of which were available 20 years ago). You can't really compare your bill of $20 to your current bill. They are not the same thing.
If you want to make a comparison, 1 individual line(which includes 450 minutes AND long distance) will run you $39.99/month. This same line with 450 minutes(from 20 years ago) would have run you $20(line charge) + $135 for calling minutes + any long distance you may have had.
You can't compare smartphones such as BB, Android, iPhone, etc... because THEY WERE NOT AVAILABLE. The oldest technology, BB, wasn't available until 13 years ago!

Just to add to AnaMusic's list:
Does Apple charge credit cards just for registering a credit card??
Yes, Apple will validate the credit card, when you are setting up the account information for an Apple ID. The credit card must be valid in the country of the store, that you are trying to buy from. And the card you are using must neither be blocked by the issuer of the card nor by the Apple for store services.
The error message  you are citing is misleading: The error message could either mean
that you are using the wrong type of card (Are you using a debit card or a credit card?)
that the AppeID or the credit card you are using has been blocked for security reasons,
or that you are encountering a store error, because you are trying to use the iTunes Store or AppStore from a country, where it is not yet supported.

  • HT3702 Itunes and auto cc charges???my credit card was charged 19.99 by the apple itunes store....I have no purchases in my history....how do I cancel this transaction? and why is it on there....how do I find out?

Itunes and auto cc charges???my credit card was charged 19.99 by the apple itunes store....I have no purchases in my history....how do I cancel this transaction? and why is it on there....how do I find out?

You've checked the purchase history on your account via your computer's iTunes : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases.
There are instructions on this page for viewing / managing / stopping auto-renewing subscriptions : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4098
If nothing shows on your iTunes purchase history (you don't have a Mac and have any purchases in the Mac App Store), and you only have the one account, then you should contact your card issuer.
If something does show on your history but you didn't buy it, and nobody else has access to your account or devices and made the purchase, then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link.  If you are doing it on an iOS device (iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch) then try tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and selecting 'View Apple ID' on the popup - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.

If you don't get the 'none' option then do you owe iTunes anything : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5366 ?

  • Can you pay for a Mac on the US Apple Online Store with a credit card that has an account in another country.

Can you buy a Mac on the US Apple Online store with a credit card that has an account in another country.

probably not as it will know the card isnot registered in the US and may even charge you for postage.  could you not get it from your country? I maybe cheaper (with the exchange rate) and quicker for delivery

  • I have been charged by iTunes through my credit card but I didn't buy any application, how can i know iTunes charge me for what?

I have been charged by iTunes through my credit card but I didn't buy any application, how can i know iTunes charge me for?

You can check the purchase history on your account via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes, though I'm not sure if that shows auto-renewing subscriptions. Have you added or changed your credit card details on your account (when you do then a small temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the details are correct and valid, which should disappear within a few days) ? If you haven't changed your card details or can't find or don't recognise what the charge is for then you can contact iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • HT3702 I accidentally deleted my receipt for the purchase of an audiobook  another? In my account history, there is no sign of it yet - I purchased it 2 days ago - but the charge is already on my credit card.

I accidentally deleted my receipt for the purchase of an audiobook on iTunes. How can I get another? In my account history, there is no sign of it yet - I purchased it 2 days ago - but the charge is already on my credit card.

You're looking in your Purchase History?
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2727
If so and you don't see the purchase there, and you're sure your looking in the account through which you purchased the audiobook (and are sure you bought it from the iTunes Store, not from audible.com or some other site), go here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store. If the audiobook didn't download, they can help, and they may be able to send you another copy of the receipt.
    Regards.

my ipod wont let me buy any appps because it says i have an invalid security code for my moms credit card but its the right one. and it also says i owe money for upgrading an app does anyone know how to remove my moms credit card cause i cant figure itout

    To change asccount information see:
    Changing Account Information
For the code issue this may help.
iTunes Store: My credit card's security code or zip code does not match my bank's records
For a standard iTunes account you need a valid payment method even for free apps and app updates.
What is making it think that you own money for an app upgrade?

  • HT1918 I recently was unable to watch a movie I purchased & paid for because my credit card was out of date. Surely you cannot take access to items I have purchased away from me if I do not own a credit card?

I recently was unable to watch a movie I purchased & paid for because my credit card was out of date. Surely you cannot take access to items I have purchased away from me if I do not own a credit card? Does this mean that I will no longer be able to view purchases if I decide to cancel my credit card. If this is the case, I will not be purchasing movies from iTunes again

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
If you have a credit card on your account then it will need to be valid. If you don't have a card to replace it with then have you tried removing it from your account ? On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link.

If you don't get the 'none' option on the payment details screen then do you owe iTunes anything or have any pre-orders/subscriptions due : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5366 ?

    Hidden or otherwise, no charge...
I'm not sure that you can remove your credit card information once you have added it. I think you will just have to live with the fact that Apple has your credit card number. Of course, that could be quite useful on the day that you decide that you want an App that does need paying for.

  • Does itunes allowances take money from your credit card or itunes balence

does itunes allowances take money from your credit card or itunes balence??

From a  iTunes gift card balance first, then the difference is charged to your credit or debit card account.
"If your gift certificate, prepaid card, and/or allowance credit is less than the total cost of the purchase, your credit card is billed for the remaining balance. Note: Free song credits cannot be used for album purchases."

  • HT3702 i got charge a bill to my credit card went i had my tuns card?

i got charge $9.84 to my credit card on file witch i dont understand went i had used my tunes card.

Apple is not here. Apple does not answer questions here.
But charge that you see was the system reaching out to your bank to verify that the bank exists, your account exists and that there are funds in the account upon which to draw when you buy things. This is not a permanent charge because Apple will not take the final steps to remove this money from your account. This charge will fall off the account in a few business days.
