  • I had an accident with my ipod. i did not know that; nowadays, the warranty does not cover my ipod if the screen is cracked. but now the battery is not working. the warranty does help me for something??

i want help, not the same comments that i will not be helped. i admit my fault as the owner that i had the accident, but i believed that i was secured with my warranty. otherwise i would ha decided to do not have it if i was going to be the one paying to be fixed... how can i still trust Aplee Corp if the are not helping me with a devise that i paid the price that they decided giving me a warranty to be sure that i am secure while i use my devise. now i would like to know if i can have a refund of the warranty because i am looking for a different way to fix it because i have to pay and pay. but i paid for this situation and i had such assintance leaving me aside telling me that i am hopeless and also that i have to pay more and more.
ir does not work like that. i feel bad being treated like that.

It never - ever has. The manufacturer's warranty covers you against faults due to manufacturing. (So if the screen did crack due to a manufacturing defect, Apple warranty would cover it, BUT - Apple would be aware and would be able to identify the cause of a cracked screen due to manufacturing defects, so ...)
Since you did not want comments telling you what you don't want to hear, you should condsider yourself lucky that you have any replies to this post. Sometimes, the truth hurts.

  • Does apple fix an ipod under warranty if the inside screen was slightly cracked even though you cant feel the crack because its on the inside.do they fix that????

    ONLY Apple could answer this.
If they determine that the ipod is defective, then warranty will cover it.
If they determine that it is damaged, then the warranty will not cover it.

  • Does apple tv still drop out

does apple tv still drop out of device list in itunes.

My router is N (Airport Extreme).
I have an update - Apple sent a replacement unit after the tech verified that my Apple TV was acting abnormally. I got it the next day, plugged it in and haven't had any issues whatsoever. I seemed to have a defective unit.

Does apple cover hardware warranty all over the world? If I present iPhone brought from US to Hongkong’s store does apple provide hardware warranty?

iPhone warranty is not international, you can take it to the Hong Kong Apple Store and ask but don't be surprised if they hand the iPhone back to you and tell you to take to United States for service

  • Does applecare cover a blown out speaker?

I've had my macbook air for a little less than a year and my applecare is for one year so does this cover a blown out speaker? Sound only comes out from the left side of my laptop and the speaker on the right side blew out.

One very small addition to Kappy's answer:
You must bring the AppleCare claim in the same country where the MacBook Air was purchased.

Does apple replace a bent iPod touch 5th gen?

Only after you pay the fee for the replacement of a damaged iPhone. Bending is considered damage

  • Does apple cover a broken wire

HI I have an iPad mini and after like a month or two the lightning wire isn't working... Does apple trade you for a new one?

They probably will if it doesn't show signs of abuse.
Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.

  • Vast Apple Conspiracy! (iPod Not Working When Formatted for Windows)

Alright, I know this isn't the place to make the claim of an Apple conspiracy, but as a mac user who proudly has an apple sticker on his car who has experienced the events below first hand - I feel there is only one explanation one can come to.
    VAST APPLE CONSPIRACY!
Alright, my friend has a 30GB 5G iPod and runs windows. I own a MacBook that has OSX 10.4.7 and Windows. He has had problems in the past with his computer, but never with his iPod until the 1.2 update rolled out with iTunes 7. Now after one move of the cursor or change of menu the screen turns into a bunch of pixels reminiscent of a television set to static. Only it makes no noise and never moves, it just sits with the backlight on until it dies, or until you hold the menu and center buttons, then it restarts and does the same thing.
So being the good nerdy friend that I am I offer to take it home and reformat it on my Mac then on Windows to see if maybe that helps (thinking something is up with his computer again). It starts out promising enough, because I was able to reformat it for Macintosh load on music, videos and games play them all and shut it down properly.
So I switch to Windows XP and reformat it for Windows in iTunes 7 and the same problem starts up again!
Now aside from a vast Apple conspiracy, does anyone have any suggestions, perhaps others are experiencing this problem? Keep in mind the iPod worked fine when formatted for Mac and it is highly unlikely two Windows computers have the exact same flaw (especially on mine that goes almost unused and has virus and spyware protection).

    Ummm
the APPLE software is less than a month old. I am sure it was tested extensively on APPLE computers before release. Due to apple's configurations there are only a few systems it had to be tested on.
Now on windows... how many of thousands of geeks out there build their own machines with different graphics, audio, usb pci cards etc etc... Impossible for apple to test it out as extensively on win xp...
I imagine in 2 - 3 months we will have itunes 7.0.2 or 7.0.3 that addresses many of the issues windows users are having. That's how it was with itunes 6, this is not a new phenomenon by any means.

  • Does apple configurator affect ipod content

We have some ipods we have supervised with apple configurator for students and have removed all ways to connect except email. We now find students have videos they need to extract which are too big to  email. If we connect to the Macbook and refresh or restore the configuration settings will that delete the videos stored on the ipods?
    Thank you

There is an option in the preferences for Apple Configurator 1.4.3... open preferences and uncheck the boxes that say 'automatically refresh' and 'remove apps and profiles that Configurator did not install'.  Then you should be able to extract the information throgh the Mac by syncing the devices.  Make sure you don't restore or update the device, just download the data from it and it should be fine.
It may be worth looking into a WebDAV option for file sharing and collaboration.
For fututre reference, it may also be worth while looking up the 'Assign' function, as with this option you can assign iPads to students, so that it doesn't matter if they use the same iPad or not; their own data will be on it, once it is 'checked out' to them and then it is saved on the Mac through Configurator once sync'd again.
    I hope this helps.

  • What does apple cover under their one year worrenty

I'm just wondering what they cover from their 1 year warranty u get after u buy it, do they cover broken screens, also do u get a new one when u take it in or is it a refurbished iPod with their warranty?

Like most any warranty on most any product, they cover manufacturer defect.
    Damage is not covered.
You can get new or refurbed as a replacement - you do not get a choice.

  • The small white bracket underneath my Enter key broke, does apple cover this under warrenty?

I got the 13 inch Mmacbook Pro for Christmas about 3 weeks ago and I started having issues with my "Enter" key almost immediately out of the box. I didn't see a huge probably with it until it started to get worse. Now if I press the top of it at all it comes out. I think the small, white bracket underneath the key broke because when I examine it, there is a small portion of it missing. Could have just been a production flaw or something. Either way, I wanted to know if Apple covers this under warrently. I have no problem going to Apple if they can fix it and I have looked everywhere for the part to see if I can just order it. Thanks!

You have a 1 year warrenty against manufacturing defects.
Use it now at the Genius Bar at an Apple Store.
Also this is evidence you will want to buy AppleCare to extend the hardware warranty to 3 years.

  • What does 'Other' cover in IPOD Capacity?

As a family we have a few ipods of differing sizes and generations. All working fine apart from one thing.
When I check for capacity usage in itunes two of the ipods show quite a lot of memory taken up under the 'other' catagory. Does anyone know how I can reduce the amount of information stored under this area? One of the ipod nanos has almost half of it's current space used up by this catagory of data.

In a related question, is 20.3mb of info in my 'Other' considered a lot?
Also, below is a list of the files and their sub folders:
    Calendars (empty)
    Contacts (empty)
    iPod_Control (device(preferences/sysInfo)iTunes & Music)
    Notes (instructions)
BOOTEX (the results of a disc check of the iPod itself)
My question is other then the iTunes folders, can I delete any and/or all of these files and their related contents and if I do so, will my iPod still work correctly?
Probably a stupid question I know, but I really don't know much about the inner workings of the iPod and I also don't know which program to use to read any of the files listed.
Thanks for any information that you can give me related to these questions.
    Cheers!!

  • I dropped my phone in water does apple cover water damage?

Do some places like apple stores do the swap and trade and give you a new device?

Nobody's warranty covers user damage. Apple will replace your drowned phone with an "out of warranty replacement", but will require money, happily only a fraction of the full retail price.

  • Does Apple cover the touch screen part if its broken?

I dropped my iPad on the ground and the screen shattered. I thought it was just the screen but the touch screen part (i dont know what its called) doesnt  work on the top half of the screen, i want to know if Apple covers that.

The warranty covers factory defects, not user damage. Apple will replace your iPad, but you'll need to pay; the AppleCare+ deductible if you  have such coverage or Apple's standard out-of-warranty replacement price.
    Regards.
