Does Apple Do Trade Ins?

I have a 20in Core 2 Duo iMac.
I really want the new iMac but I don't want to sell my current iMac on eBay.
I would prefer getting the new iMac from the Apple store.
I was wondering if Apple would allow me to trade in my current iMac and get the new iMac and pay any difference that there might be.
I know that I probably won't be able to do this but I was just curious.
Do you think Apple would replace my current iMac with a new iMac if it was broken??
Sam
P.S.- I purchased the iMac in May.

Apple does not take trade-ins. However, some resellers may although trade-in value would not be very high. You'd be much better off selling it on your own locally or on eBay.
As for replacement versus repair read your warranty. Apple reserves the right to choose whether to repair or replace. Just because your computer is non-functioning doesn't mean it would be replaced as long as it could be repaired. And, Apple would determine whether the problem was due to actual equipment failure or damage due to negligence or abuse.

Does anyone know if apple do trade ins on the iphone4 for iphone4s?

Apple does not take trade-ins. In a few countries Apple does work with a company who will give you some return on an existing device; for the US, see:
    http://www.apple.com/recycling/gift-card/
Similar programs are available in a few other countries, and some dealers may have their own trade-in programs. But you most probably can get more for your device if you sell it yourself.

I am wanting to get an apple laptop, and are wondering if you can trade your old apple computer in, and get a discount?

You will get a far better return on your Mac if you sell it, but if you want to trade it you should take it to an Apple Store and get a quote.

Apple does not do trade-ins. An exchange is only for a device that is no longer working - dead, for example. Not like yours which is probably fixable. Exchanges are only done for an exact same refurbished model, not a new one.

Personally, I would not accept an Android trade-in in any country.
You are addressing Apple users here.
But the Apple company also does not accept trade-ins.
    Sell your Android.

  • Does apple give store credit if you bring back a older product for trade in

I want to bring my imac back because its running slow does anyone know if they have a store credit program.

No, Apple doesn't take trade-ins. If your system is running slow, you'll either need to fix the issues, or if you're truly overhwelming it with what you run, sell it and buy something else.
If you want to work on speeding it up, click the apple on the left of the menu bar and about this mac. Post the OS X version, the processor, and memory information. Then click more info, and if you're running OS X 10.7 Lion, click the storage tab, and post how much hard drive space is free out of the total capacity. If you're running other than 10.7 Lion, click more info, click serial ATA, and post the hard drive capacity and space used.

  • HT4623 Does apple offer any "trade-in" for Ipad 1....are we stuck forever at OS 5.1?

Does Apple offer any trade-in value for those of us early-adopters who bought the first version of ipad???    Are we forever stuck at OS 5.1 as OS 6 is not supported on the original Ipad?

Your only option is to sell the iPad and buy a new one.

Really?!? As an Android phone user, I find that Apple does everything the hard way. Android is much simpler to use, in my opinion. You want to delte a photo or an app? Just delete it from your device. It won't keep popping by up every time you do a sync with iTunes........oh, wait. You don't have to do that on an Android device .
Good thing I like Android, because after today's announcement, when my now obsolete, no longer being made or sold iPad 3 bites the dust (obviously sooner than later since Apple is no longer making it for "some" reason......hint, hint) I will return to an Android device for my next tablet. I waivered back and forth numerous times before I decided to go with the iPad 3 over an Android tablet. My bad! Thanks, Apple. Lesson learned.

  • Is this true about Trade Ins?

I called my local Best Buy and the rep told me that the trade in phone had to be originally purchased at Best Buy?  Does anyone know if this is true?

    Hello BRIVAEH226-
There are city, county and state regulations that do control what we can take as a trade-in.  In some situations, we are required by those regulations to only take trade-ins that can be validated as purchased in a Best Buy store by the customer producing a Best Buy receipt.
This is why all of our trade-in promotions as well as our Limitations and Restrictions of our trade-in program here call out that some stores may have additional limitations that prevent a trade-in.  Your local store should be able to provide you with more information around any particular regulations that they have to follow.

  • How long does apple keep messages in imessage?

    Hello,
Can any one tell me how long does Apple keep messages sent via iMessage in the iCloud (or anywhere else)?
    Thanks

So forceful! You have a source for that subpoena and a date I suppose? My Google-Fu must be weak because I couldn't find such a subpoena on the net.
By the way, that answer isn't a "no." "As long as necessary" can be along time since Apple cannot determine when you've read it everywhere you want to and so it's OK to delete.
I was able to pull iMessages from old deleted message threads on a new device. I also come home and sit at my Mac and my message conversation from the day on my iPhone becomes mirrored in iMessages on my computer, attachments and all, where I then copy the things I can't on the phone like ringtones and so on. Anyone can try this at home and I suggest you do. Where are these messages stored all day as I'm using my phone to be later mirrored on my home Mac?
I'm not seeing an error. I'm not just looking at unsent messages. Does it even matter anyway? Apple stores messages and their ToS states that they can do this, you agreed to it, and this policy can change at any time without your consent. Read it, thoroughly. I had to deconstruct it in a law class for a paper. I doubt you did this.
You are defensive but nobody is attacking Apple. Of course Apple stores messages for a long time. Why wouldn't they? Apple necessarily has access to the iMessage servers exactly the same as the servers that store your email or photo streams. There are legitimate business reasons! No one is saying they are abusing this access. This isn't even an issue but saying it doesn't happen betrays a lack of knowledge how this tech works.
If someone sent you a bunch of iMessages, maybe hundreds, and you haven't read them they aren't stored indefinitely until you read them on a device or on a Mac with your iCloud account? Can you say how long? No, you can't and neither can anyone outside of Apple and this is a changing number anyway.
You believe that once a message is sent that Apple immediately deletes it? Why would they when there's no requirement? You might check it from another device later on, Apple can't know if you've read it everywhere you want to. Syncing conversations across devices that are checked at different times requires some amount of storage of historical messages! Deleting a message immediately once sent would prevent this.
Do you thoroughly understand the technology involved? Do you have inside Apple knowledge of trade secrets?
I posted in this thread because I genuinely want to help the OP and you are speaking without evidence whereas my assertion is easily tested by the community in 10 minutes.
