Does Apple have any intention of creating a new Soundtrack?

I am learning to love Final Cut Pro X, and even though I love the linking of audio and video, sound editing is just not cutting it. Are there any speculations about incorporating a whole new Soundtrack Pro X and releasing it on the App store?

Software development on this scale is huge undertaking. And it all started a little while back with Quicktime X, the first complete overhall of the software since it's inception in the last century. I feel that they are taking a slightly different approach this time. I also think they are starting from scratch in many ways and will require some time before a full feature set is included in our audio, video, and music software. I'm sure there will be some sort of audio for picture feature-set somewhere, and I'm hoping it's in Logic somewhere.
Go Apple! Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeves.

Just as the thread reads: Does Apple have any future plans to add the 8x SuperDrive (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW) to the 15.4" MacBook Pro? I'm very interested in this unit for college, but I need to have DL burning capabilities.

Actually it's not a question of when Apple feel like it.
The old Powerbook was 1.1 inches and had an 8x drive. The drive from the PB was too tall for the MBP. The 17 does not have the problem as it uses a "wider" drive, one too wide for the 15
So until someone manufactures an 8 speed drive as thin as the 4x drive Apple can't offer it.
I hope that helps somewhat - it may be an idea to look at what the major drive manufacturers are coming out with. Also the timings for Blue Ray and DVD HD may mean that Apple decide to skip going back to 8x drives anyway - of course that depends on the size of those drives and Apples MBP form factor staying the same.

Just to add this : iWeb -- the app itself -- is still supported,updated only months ago and as part of the ilife '11 DVDs still widely spread even though it is not sold on the AppStore it is official part of iLife. It runs in Lion and there is zero issues with the app. So a training makes sense, doesn't it ?.
They would only to exclude the "publish to me.com" part to be up to date for courses and trainings :-≠

There is support, OSX has 3 input methods for Persian:
Menu > System Preferences… > Language & Text > Input Sources > Persian/Persian - ISIRI 2901/Persian QWERTY
but OSX has general problems with placing cursors in the right position in R to L languages.
Mellel is currently the best solution for all the R to L languages.
You just missed getting it in a MacUpdate Bundle.

Does Apple have any good way of managing iPhones for business?

I finally broke down and allowed iPhones into our company when Apple introduced the ability to provision phones like phones (e.g. don't have to teather them to a computer to set up). This and the "business" management tools opened the door, so we got about 30 of them.
WHAT A HUGE MISTAKE!!!!
Apple is now going backward. When a phone comes into our shop, we have to load up iTunes and get the phone to sync before we can do simple things like wipe the phone or troubleshoot "why did my bluetooth quit working". All of their "enterprise focus" seems to be around security and app control, with nothing I've seen for the day-to-day keeping things running. (Not saying app control and secuirty are unimportant, just not enough).
Does Apple have any good business management tools that I'm missing? I know about MDM, but too much setup for a relatively small number of phones. Besides, my understanding is the MDM only does app management / security policy. Right now we use Apple's stand-alone configurator. Fine for pushing policy and apps, but useless for troubleshooting and day-to-day management (like resetting a phone back to factory configs).
Also, is my carrior correct that Apple will not allow them to replace phones that have gone bad under warranty? They told me for the iPhones we have to physically take them to an Apple store for troubleshooting / replacement even after 100% identifying the issue! That is an hour (at least) wasted to send one of my folks to the store. I know we don't just have a bad carrior, becaue they happily send out replacement on other brands after troubleshooting over the phone.
I actually do like the overall look/feel of the iPhones. But unless Apple becomes much more corporate-friendly, I can only recommend that companies refuse to purchase any iDevice. BYOD, sure...but when you buy tens or hundreds of phones stick to Android, Blackberry, or even (sorry) Microsoft based devices.

Does not seem to work that way for us. We plug the phone in, and the first thing iTunes does is say the phone needs to be "authorized for this computer". It also states that the phone can only be authorized for x computers.
It then goes through it's jig while we wait, and finally comes up with the phone. Only then can we try to wipe / update the phone. We do stop the sync process, that automatically starts wanting to run. Maybe has to do with a version difference between what you use and what we use. I did notice that an older version of iTunes seemed a bit friendlier, but would not support our iPads.
However, when we were troubleshooting the bug where wireless / bluetooth quits working it was quite a bit more difficult than this for a phone a user handed us. Troubleshooting steps required that the phone be "restored" in iTunes. However, iTunes insisted on our providing a password that neither we nor the user knew. Maybe just learning curve, but it took about an hour before we were able to get that phone to a point where we could reset it.
Here is a sincere question for you, since you say you support a fleet of phones. Do you really NOT get annoyed when your tech has to take a iPhone to a computer with iTunes, plug it in, and work from there whenever there is a user issue that needs to have the phone wiped back to factory standard? This compared to being able to punch a few buttons on a different phone, right there in the users office, then hand it back to the user and say "your are fixed".
My only assumptions are that IT staff want to solve issues as quickly and efficiently as possible. Requireing a tech to deal with iTunes for simple procedures is not, IMHO, "as quick and efficient as possible".

Samsung recently released 'S-Drive' - an app for their Samsung Galaxy program which only allows certain features to be used when driving. I much prefer my Apple iPhone, but as my children grow up, this is much safer. Thoughts?

You may already have tried this, but before you completely give up, I'd check your home router software and also reset the router. I haven't seen this particular issue arise on these forums with new iPad devices, so perhaps it has to do with outdated software or configuration on the router not playing well with the new device....

I've been using Touch.OSC, from Hexler. It is not created by Apple but works like a charm on Logic. I've been using the app for over a year both on my iPad and my iPhone. Apple has not made any announcement. Based on past history, I expect there to be no more update for the 4G iPod.
All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory (RAM). The 4G iPod only has 256 MB

Moreover sometimes recording files would be the best evidence in the court.

Does Mac have any plans to create and/or update drivers for multi-media hardware that is useless to me after "upgrading" to Mavericks? This is a waste of money for free..

I have found that since I "upgraded" to Mavericks, many pieces of audio hardware that was compatable with snow leopard is not compatable with mavericks. these machines are supposed to be the best for multi-media, now, without any warning, Mac has really messed this up. What are they thinking. I just converted from PC. Was it a $3000 mistake. MAC....Get BUsy, It can't be that hard to create some drivers that are compatable with common and popular pieces of hardware needed to do the projects I bought this thing for!!!!

similar problem here. running the latest 13 inch mbpr and ableton live software, mavericks obvsly.
experiencing crashes only with external soundcards attached. it happened with a usb interface (NI audio 2 dj) and with a echo audiofire 2 (firewire through thunderbold adapt.)
keyboard and trackpad got unresponsive after the crash with the usb interface as they run on the usb buss I suppose.
This is interesting: If i m running usb or firewire interfaces plugged in to my thunderbold display at home - i get 0 problems. it just works 100%
so what does this tell us? is the hardware of the macbook defective?
but why does the FW interface crash then when attached to the computer directly and not if attached to the display?
this is extremely frustrating. basically my job is using this machine on stage and i cant use it. i m back to my 2007 macbook now running 10.6, thinking about getting a USED machine which was before mavericks and haswell - think these are the issues and what i would like to know:

Does Apple have any dyslexia support?

I have dyslexia and I've tried using the voice over and it makes it difficult to use the iPad because I have to repeatedly press buttons and other things, it doesn't help at all that it reads absolutely everything, instead of what I just needed it to read! I tried using the text speak, But it doesn't work on all of the text and sometimes it speaks in Foreign languages which is absolutely no good for me! I also use the Siri voice into text thing, but sometimes I think it has worse dyslexia then I do Half the time it comes up with things that has absolutely nothing to do with what I've just said! I need apple to realise that people with dyslexia need help as well as people with eye site difficulty and hearing difficulty I need assistance with reading, writing, understanding text and the spelling of texts! I need to be able to change the colour of the screen and maybe even the colour of the text itself the size of the text and it's spacing in the text in order to be able to read it and understand it! A lot of people have dyslexia isn't it about time that Apple and other companies did something that helped people with dyslexia!

Apple are not the only ones that create apps for the iPad and iPhone and other things! A lot of these people had a lot of text which is not accessible to people with dyslexia! This is due to the sheer amount of text and the fact that they don't get any help by the creators to read it! So this is not just for Apple! It's for anyone who is interested in creating apps! To get them to think about how their App can be used by people with dyslexia and other disabilities!

Does Apple have any planes to fix skip count on the itouch?

When I skip a song on my itouch and sync it later, the songs I skipped don't show as being skipped. This makes almost all of my smart playlist useless! I used to buy songs every Tuesday until i noticed my Itouch was playing songs i was tired of and had skipped many times. I hope it gets fixed soon.

NO, I'm not talking about the play count. The play count works fine. I use a smart playlist that says don't play songs i have skipped in the last year. When I skip a song on my itouch then sync the itouch to my itunes playlist no songs show that they have been skipped. If i skip a song in itunes it shows that it has been skipped. I've tried skipping songs on my itouch from 1sec to 45 sec and not once does it show that a song has been skipped.
This feature has worked for years, but stoped sometime last year and hasn't worked on any of the 3 ipods that I currently own. It must be an software issue. I have seen others complain about it, but no response from Apple about it.

Does Apple have any programs for Disabled Americans?

I am a Disabled American and due to a very limited income I have been unable to afford a computer since losing my ability to work. Is anyone aware of whether Apple participates in altruistic or philanthropic programs whereby someone like myself may be eligible for an Apple computer that I am otherwise unable to afford? I've always been an Apple and Mac user and supporter but at this phase of my life it's as though I can enthusiastically watch from the sidelines but I feel like I can't play in the game, so to speak. If a program exists which may provide refurbished or otherwise unused products to others like myself, there is a very real possibility that with access to a computer I could even rejoin my former colleagues in the workplace. This sounds looney, but it would be a joy to feel viable enough to begin paying taxes again! My country has faithfully looked after me; I'd like the opportunity to give back now.

Your best bet would be to work through local philanthropic or servic organizations. Groups like Rotary, I believe often do such things. Also, you might try asking around at support groups for your particular disability. If you are working with a hospital or government social worker, they may also know of programs.
