Correct. That error indicates you have a 2G iPod. You say you have an 8 GB 3G iPod there is not such thing. Apple only made 32 and 64 GB 3G iPods. You have a 2G iPod.

To everyone with the problem of your older model IPOD hanging up, freezing, and not synching songs properly -
I had the exact same problems as many of you have described. It seems they are VERY common since the new updater was released.
I spent sooooo much time messing with it to no avail.
so - I broke down and went out yesterday and bought a brand new 30 GB Video POD.
I just wish I had done that three weeks ago!
It works flawlessly at home and at work.
IMHO - Save yourself the hassle and pick up a new one - it was worth it to me. And now I can show of pics of my little baby girl on the video POD!

As far as I am aware CDMA models are only sold in the US so you would need to take it back to where you bought it from for a replacement or refund (and you would also need to be within that store's refund time period). If you have a non-Verizon iPhone then you might be able to use that with a local micro-sim as a mobile hotspot for the iPad, assuming that your phone carrier supports the personal hotspot function on the iPhone, or you could try getting a mifi device and use that with the iPad

if it broke because you stepped on it, dropped it etc, you will need to pay for a new one. If it broke due to faulty craftsmanship and your mac is still under warranty, the charger is covered too.

I'm guessing you mean you cracked the screen. They can repair it but it will cost you for sure. Not covered under warranty.
