Does Apple's dictionary support Spanish?

Hello,
My laptop is in Spanish and I've noticed when I use triple click it always returns "Ningún resultado" (no result). I went to the dictionary preferences and moved the Wikipedia dictionary to the top, put a checkbox for Spanish and I started seeing results again. Does Apple's dictionary (the specific tab in the dictionary app) support languages other than English?
Thanks in advance,

HERE is the best answer to your question.. but, in short - yes, you can run AOL software on your Mac. Beyond that, I know nothing about AOL.

why does apple tv not support amazon prime?

If you have an iPhone/iPad it may be possibel to 'Airplay' from teh Amazon Prime app on the device - no Amazon Prime in UK so I can't confirm it works.  Check reviews of the app in iTunes.  Airplay is not something I like much as you have to have another device to work with the AppleTV.
As to why there is no native support for Amazon Prime on the AppleTV itself, we could ask the same for any number of services, but:
1 - Apple/Amazon are competitors to some extent so they may not want to
2 - It may simply not feature in Apple's plans for the device
3 - Rights owners may not allow Apple/Aamzon to collaborate
.....and dozens more possible reasons I suspect, none of which really make sense to you an I as a consumer...

  • Does Apple monitor the Support communities for trolls?

    Hello.
I posted a question regarding adding apps to the App Store:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/18763476?ac_cid=op123456#18763476
I got a response, wrote a reply, then a troll by the name of Dah Veed ( https://discussions.apple.com/people/Dah%E2%80%A2veed ) joined in and basically trolled the discussion by offering nothing but insults and childish remarks.
Does Apple actually monitor these forums? It is quite discouraging to see this sort of behavior in this 'community.'
    As per the 'Community Etiquette':
Post only technical support questions and answers, unless otherwise noted.
Be polite, constructive and stay on topic.
I believe this user is not following any sort of etiquette.
    Thank you.

There are moderators here, and as you gain levels here, you also gain the ability to report problem posts.  (At level 1, you don't yet have that ability.)
Although Dah•Veed is normally a helpful contributor, and he is correct that it's extremely unlikely that Apple will ever add the feature you mentioned in that topic, he did nonetheless phrase his responses poorly.  I have brought the matter to the attention of the moderators, who will make the decision about whether his posts stay or go.

  • Why does apple refuse to support flash media? Is it a security issue or politics?

Constantly I come accross websites that require a flash player and now that we are in an ios7 enviroment you'd think this issue would be resolved. I mean why does my OSX in my mac have no problems but my iphone/ipad forget it. Will Apple ever resolve this issue?

    hot_spur wrote:
Phil, while there is some truth in what you say, it is a bit misleading.
"Besides the fact that Flash is closed and proprietary, has major technical drawbacks, and doesn’t support touch based devices, there is an even more important reason we do not allow Flash on iPhones, iPods and iPads. We have discussed the downsides of using Flash to play video and interactive content from websites, but Adobe also wants developers to adopt Flash to create apps that run on our mobile devices." Emphasis mine.
I guess I should have said "allow" not "support." My bad.
    Read the whole thing:
    http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/
    And why is that bad?
Yes Apple has said why Flash is not on their devices.  Its up to Adobe to create a version that meets Apple requiremements.  But since they've ceased all development for mobile Flash that is not going to happen.
Its not that they did not want to allow it ever, its just that it never met their specifications to be on their devices.
When you go to someone's house you adhere to their rules, you don't go stomping around in your muddy shoes on their couch do you?
That's what Adobe was trying to do, stomp on their profits by injecting Flash Based Apps that apple cannot control which would be a serious security risk as well as a financial detriment to all the developers that produce high quality Apps for the App store.
Again, Apple only wants to keep their devices secure, and profitable. Shock that a company is out to make profits

  • Does Apple mac books supports STADD V8i.pro

Greetings friends, I am an undergraduate civil engineer and i am going to do my MSc n Structural engineering and I am using apple Mac book for about 6 months and like to know whether the MACBOOK SUPPORTS STADDV8I PRO ...  and i m totallu confused... help me out.. i dont know will it work propely or slows down.. graphical issues

i should be able to use all 12 cores
Using all the cores available is a Classic unsolved problem in Computer Science.
In general, very few Application Programs can do this, unless they have been hand-coded to do this. Some programs that are doing this are Ray Tracing, DVD-encoding, Frame Stress Analysis, Weather Forecasting or other Fluid Dynamics problems, or similar very specific Applications.
Almost everyone purchasing a 12-core computer is wasting their money unless they will be running such programs. The additional cores will simply not be used, regardless of what Operating System you are using.
For most Application Programs, a computer with fewer cores, but Faster is a better choice. These are more likely to be used and will always run at a faster speed when they do.
Most Users who are purchasing Macs are willing to pay the Premium Price to get the best User Interface there is on any computer, Mac OS X. If you expect to throw out Mac OS X, buy a less expensive Workstation-class computer from Dell or HP.

  • Does Apple ssd ts128a supports trim?

I just bought a second hand macbook pro (mid - 2012) with an Apple SSD TS128A. After a fresh install of Yosemite 10.10.2  system profiler shows that trim disabled. Am I doing something wrong? As far as I know, Apple SSD supports trim out of the box. Any help would be appreciated!
    thanks in advance

Have a look at my blog here: http://www.markc.me.uk/MarkC/Blog/Entries/2011/4/17_Enabling_TRIM_on_OSX_for_any _SSD.html
This hack works on my 2010 Macbook Air, and my 2011 Macbook Pro running LION. The 2010 Macbook Air obviously has an Apple SSD in it - I still needed this hack to enable TRIM.
As with anything like this make sure you backup first. I've had it running since LION was released and it's been fine so far.

  • Does Apple have tech support people coming here regularly?

I note that there are several questions with zero replies. Does this mean that Apples does NOT populate this board? Isn't this supposed to be part of their tech support strategy? Why aren't there more answers here?
    Beth

    Thanks Zevoneer,
That answers my question which is more than I can say for tech questions I've had. Not ONE of those have been answered by the boards. I have found my own answers in the book I had to buy to teach me how to use my touch. I had problems this am getting Shuffle to work and couldn't figure out what to do to fix it. Got my trusty book out and figured it out myself before anyone could answer my question. Strange that such a simple question had no answers on this board. Or maybe everyone is busy with their holiday weekend? Could be! Anyway, it's fixed and anyone wanting to know how to fix a shuffle problem can check my other thread with the word 'shuffle' in it.

  • Does Apple provide "pay" support.

It's beginning to look like my issues require contacting someone proficient with iTunes on a PC whom I can speak to directly. The whole -support-service-by-responding- to-prompts falls apart at the very end - in everything I've tried you have to provide a serial number before you can go any further.  Since it's not an Apple platform, I can't provide one, so everything just becomes a do-loop.The community has been great. You've solved several problems for me in the past, and I am grateful.   I'm just not proficient enough to figure it out.  I've already read all the articles recommended here plus a few Apple recommended; none of them addressed the problem I have.
I think the problem is that I can't ask the questions properly.  None of the apple support pages have links to a place I can call,  I'm assuming that such a service exists. The basic question is whether or not to do a clean install.  I'm concerned with impact on my libraries of music/tv shows/movies which all reside on an external hard drive.  Is Apple even the place to contact for support; might someone here have a recommendation that, based on my description, might be a better option?
    tnx

probably giving more insights about the responders than the original questioner ...
i don't know if you've ever worked in a studio that has software which was sometimes bought even ten years ago. which has a box with software for installing mac os 6 on a performer, which has some max cds before a company named c'74 was even born.
keeping inventories is a story of its own. and when no legacy information is available as in the case of emagic (R.I.P.) it's even more difficult.
