Does apple support factory unlocking an iphone for tmobile

I have tmobile as a service carrier. I have heard a lot about unlocking iphones to use with tmobile. Are there disadvantages? Is it llegal?

No, it's not illegal.
Only the network to which the phone is locked can authorise the unlock. Apple won't unlock it directly.

  • Unlocking the iPhone for tmobile?

Apple offers to unlock iPhones before purchase, will this allow me to use the iPhone, like the iPhone 4s to work on tmobile service?

Apple will be selling factory unlocked iPhone 4S starting in November.  The price is $649, $749, & $849.
Note that US T-Mobile is not fully compatible with iPhones. With T-Mobile you'll get:
    No 3G - only 2G (Edge) speeds
    No MMS
    No FaceTime
    No Visual Voicemail
You end up with a very expensive crippled iPhone.

  • Why does Apple support not have the manual for iPad and iOS5 available?  The manual on the site has none of the new features.

Has anyone else noticed that the manual has none of the new features, for example iCloud in it?  The iPhone iOS5 manual is correct.

  • When does Apple support Khmer in iPad, iPhone & iPod?

Cambodians are frustrated waiting for Apple to add Khmer support for years. Why? When? What?

We are fellow users on here, we won't know when Khmer might be supported until if/when Apple announce something. You can try leaving feedback for Apple via this page : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

  • Unlock my iphone for tmobile in-store?

Could I walk into an apple store and ask them to unlock my at&t iPhone I just bought from a friend so that it will work with tmobile? Or will I have to figure out how to hack it?

Apple cannot and does not unlock iPhones themselves; only the carrier to whom the phone is locked can do that. You will need to call AT&T and ask if your iPhone is eligible for unlocking.

ONLY the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it. Most have restrictions in that you must be a current customer and have maintained service for a minimum period of time. Do yourself a favor, sell it and purchase a phone in India instead.

  • When does Apple will take unlocking for Mexico (Telcel) iPhones seriously? Because That carrier give thousands of evasive responses to people that ask for an unlocking service after their contracts are done...

When does Apple will take unlocking for Mexico (Telcel) iPhones seriously? Because That carrier give thousands of evasive responses to people that ask for an unlocking service after their contracts are done...

This is the best invention to make people buy new devices. Why am I asking this to Apple???? Maybe I´m wrong and I have to ask to Microsoft or maybe Google? There is a law that obligates all carrier companies to unlock those devices that are off contract. But even with this, this company denies to do it. They suppor their idea in the fact that that law was published on Oct´12, so brilliantly they have solved to unluck only those devices bought after that date..... I have all those evidences but all are in spanish.....

  • Is there a way to factory unlock my iPhone legally from Apple?

I bought my iPhone in Japan and now I am returning to India. I would like to do this legally. Does apple not support factory unlock at a price?

As is stated on this forum many times a day, Apple cannot unlock an iPhone without the authority of the network to which it is locked.
You need to contact the network in Japan that your iPhone is locked to and ask them if they allow unlocking of their phones, and if so, what the process is.
If they allow it, they will send the unlocking authorisation to Apple and the unlock will be done via iTunes.
Again... Apple cannot do the unlocking without the network giving them permission.

  • Does iphone5 supports all the lte bandclasses for lte operators apple supported?

Recently, apple has announced a list of operators that supports lte, http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/.
For model A1429(cdma model),Verizon is one of these operators that supports lte.
    Here's two question,anyone knows?
1.What 's the lte bandclass currently used by Verizon that supports lte of iphone5?
2.If iphone5 currently support all bandclasses(1,3,5,13,25) for verizon? Or  only bandclass 13 is limited by iphone5 when using verizon's lte network no matter which lte bandclass is currently supported by verizon?

If the article lined can solve the problem,  i would not ask.
All bandclasses refered in my question are  bandclass(1,3,5,13,25).My question is that does iphone5 support bandclass 5 of lte for verizon if VZW operates this bandclass which apparrently verizon isn't operation now?

  • UK service provider can no longer unlock my iPhone for US use, and US service providers and Apple store say that only my UK service provider can unlock this phone. Help!

I bought this iPhone while backpacking through Europe 2 years ago. It was the first thing i did after i got off the airplane to help me navigate, book hostels, trains, flights, and talk with family back home. it cost me around 700-800 US dollars, full price since they do pricing/contracts different over in the UK.
It's been a couple years, and I'm ready to ditch my 6 year old Samsung and move on to this iPhone. The problem is, since i wasn't using the UK service for a while, they dropped my number/user account completely and they can no longer unlock my iPhone. I talked to AT&T and the Apple store, and they said that the only way I can unlock my iPhone is by contacting the service company that i originally purchased this from--whom can't help since i no longer have an account with them.
How do i LEGALLY unlock this iPhone for use in the US?

Only the wireless provider to which an iPhone is locked can unlock it.
You may have to get a PayAsYouGo sim from that provider to activate
your account with them so you can get the iPhone unlocked.
There is not other legal way to unlock the iPhone for use with other than
the wireless carrier to which it is locked. Contact them to see what options
they offer for re-activating the iPhone on their network.

    No such status
AT&T will either unlock your iPhone or not
    there is ......
    A carrier locked iPhone
A non carrier locked iPhone (known as unlocked) ,nothing in between
Until AT&T agree to unlock your iPhone you can ONLY use your existing sim
