Does Apple TV require a monitor connection for boot up?

I'm trying to use ATV as an audio server only (no video) controlled via the Apple remote application on my iPhone for connection to a distributed audio system in my house. I have connected the ATV to a Plasma TV via HDMI for configuration and connection to my wireless network and everything has synchronized and is working properly. I then unplug the ATV and move it to a new location for distributed audio purposes only and the ATV is not connecting back to the network. I have no monitor located anywhere near the new connection point so I only have RCA audio capables attached between the ATV and my distributed audio system (Russound CAV 6.6) My question is this: Does ATV require a monitor be connected to complete the boot up process and connect back to the network?

yes multiple libraries (the file that has location of content) but a single centralized storage location for content... but i thought that's what you wanted in each zone? if not you could just have multiple accounts, enable iTunes sharing to the other accounts and then airTunes from those accounts to the appleTVs (if that works haven't tried it)... could only do audio this way since video iTunes sharing only works from computer to computer.
me and my wife have separate accounts on our G5 desktop. so we each can have our own playlists, podcast etc but as far as actual content... thats on one location that we can both access and we share that. music for both accounts is in a shared folder on an internal drive and movies are on an external drive that we both have access to as well. we have nothing in our iTunes folders except our podcasts that we subscribe to. this way there is no duplication of content. we also have a mac mini in a bedroom that has nothing on it... everything there (movies, music etc) is access via iTunes sharing from my or my wife's (usually mine... since all the movies are added on my account)... so in this way you do have centralized storage.. and you also have the flexibility of having different content if that's what you'd like. i think people have gotten into trouble when they've tried to use the same library and iTunes folder for multiple account and ended with corrupted library file..

  • HT201469 Does Apple Pay require an internet connection in time of purchase?

I'm curious Does Apple Pay require an internet connection in time of purchase?
For example if you are traveling outside of the country and you are in the roaming area and you need to pay with your phone in the store - what will happen if you don't have internet connection?

    Thanks for the response Chris,
I'm leaning towards that direction myself...  The last line of the log exerpt above is:
Error #2032: Stream Error. URL: http://123.456.789.0:8080/guides/framework_4.5.0.21746.swz
So it does seem it's trying to fall back to a local copy, which I know exists, but clearly can't be accessed from that machine.  What doesn't make sense to me if this is the case, is that the user can browse to Workspace on that IP, login successfully, manually start a process, but then it's the guide that fails.  So the connection between the browser and LC exists and is working, it's just this framework that wont fetch!
Anyway, still doing more testing on this - will keep you posted.
    Thanks,
    K.

  • Does Apple make a UDMA card reader for iPad Air 2

does Apple make a UDMA card reader for iPad Air 2

    I"m not familiar with UDMA
The only  card reader that works for the iPad is the camera connection kit that can be used to transfer photos and videos from SD cards to your iPad. (there is no support for exporting any files or importing anything other than photos and videos)

  • Does IC WebClient require a J2EE engine for any of its component

Does IC WebClient requires a J2EE engine for any of its component? What's the need to install j2ee engine on CRM server?
I would appreciate if anybody could give a good answer or any kind of documentation on it.

    Prakash,
The answer is yes in terms of the J2EE enginge being required.  It primarily handles your multichannel access and broadcast messaging for the call center.  If you don't install it, then your IC webclient will not work correctly.  We are not using the "telphony" features of the call center, but still installed the java piece so that the standard functionality would work correctly.
    Good luck,

  • Does apple make a product to connect an iphone 4 to a car stereo

Does Apple make a product to connect the Iphone 4 to a car stereo?

I don't think Apple makes anything aside from the usual "aux" cables discussed above, but I've had good luck with a Motorola T505. It's a small device that you clip on your car's visor. It pairs to the iPhone via Bluetooth, then transmits the output to an open FM frequency that you tune in on your car stereo. So you can play music from your phone thru the car stereo, and it automatically pauses when you get an incoming call, you can carry on your phone conversation hands-free, then the music will resume once your call is completed. It's pretty neat.

  • Does Apple still sell the Snowleopard upgrade for $29?

    Hello Folks,
Does Apple still sell the Snowleopard upgrade for $29?  If so, does anyone have a link.  I can't find it.
I only need it for my iMac.  My laptop came with Snowleopard.  I'm thinking up upgrading to Mt. Lion if it seems OK and also concerned about security since they are not doing security updates for Leopard any more.
    Thanks!

I think it may only be available from Apple Phone Sales now.

Does Apple still sell replacment replacment batteries for the white unibody macbook?

The model 6,1 Late 2009 and the model 7,1 Mid 2010 with the A1342 case use an A1331 battery. You can replace it yourself or have Apple do it for you for $129. If you need it quickly make sure you order it from a U. S. seller. Orders from China can take two or three weeks.

  • I would like to know, does Apple Product Giveaways have a page for competitions on Facebook? A lot of People including myself have entered in these competitions and have won and iPhone and many other items. I am one of those people who won, it is true.

Hi, My name is Sue Keeffe Ayton, I just want to know, does Apple Product Giveaways have a page on Facebook? They are running competition to win Apple Products. A lot of people seem to be winning Apple Products including myself. I saw that I have won a White Iphone 5s 32 GB, I would like to know if this is a scam. If someone goes on the facebook website and type in Apple Product Giveaways you will find this competition page. Please tell me if this page is for real.
Please I need to know if this is for real.
A lot of poeple including myself have entered these competitions and have won. I have tried to contact this page admin, but was unable to. I have even tried to contact Facebook team to find out, but was unsuccessful at this point in time.
I am not sure if these people who are running these competitions are going to send these items out to the winners. I hope they do. If you enter a competition/s and you win, you would expect to receive your winning item/s.
I never thought it was possible to win something on Facebook. When I saw my name pop up on the winners list in Apple Product Giveaways for March 2 2014 I was excited. I am one of 5 people who won an Apple product.
Below you will see Apple Product Giveaway page on Facebook. On the right you will see the competition winners. I hope someone can help me find out the truth and if its fake, I will report this to Facebook to have this page shut down. A lot of people will be hurt, disappointed and very angry this has happened
I hope you will show your support and help me solve this.
If this is not the right site to report this or find out if this is a scam, please guide me to the correct area.
    Thank you for your attention.

  • Does Apple have a trade-in program for 2009 iMac (to purchase a brand new iMac or Mac Pro?

I have an Apple iMac11,1 with 16Gb memory, 2 Tb drive, Superdrive, QuadCore 2.8 I7 processor, ATIU Radeon HD 4850 Graphics board with 512 VRam.   I'm considering a new computer (either a new i7 iMac or the MacPro desktop) and was wondering if there is a used market within this community or if Apple has a trade-in program for older iMac's.    Does anyone know?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
There's no a trade-in program, but if you recycle it, you will get an Apple Gift Card with the value of the iMac that you can use to buy a new Mac at an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store > http://www.apple.com/recycling

  • Does Apple sell the mac pro box for shipping a mac pro to a new address

I am being relocated across the country, USA, by my employer. And need to ship my Mac Pro to the new location. Does Apple or any commercial supplier provide a Mac Pro Specific shipping box that can be bought. I.E. that has all the correct foam and spacers for the tower. Thanks.
    Raul

Now is a great time to consider the cost of shipping a 65lb (or more) item all across the country Vs the cost of selling your old Mac and buying a new one when you get there.
The 2009 and later models Geekbench at nearly twice the speeds of the 2008 and previous (at same number of processor and nominal speeds). This is mainly due to Muti-Threading and memory improvements. The memory for the newer models is MUCH cheaper if you need to add on.
I suggest you cost out the shipping, then ask then for that amount toward a system upgrade when you arrive. Or check carefully whether you need to provide documentation of actual shipping or whether estimates will do.

  • Does Apple keep track of crash statistics for iOS apps?

I have been experiencing frequent crashes in a particular iOS app.  I have sent emails to the publisher (as have many users) and despite frequent updates, the problem persists.  Does Apple track these crashes and use them to re-evaluate the apps?

If you agree to share diagnostic data with Apple, they have the data.
Whether they share it with the developers so they can improve their apps, I am not sure.

  • Why does the default install make a partition for boot?

The installer, if one lets it prepare one's hard drive, makes a partition for boot, and formats it as a second extended filesystem. I know that people debate the need for/desirability of a partition for boot, and I do not mean to revive that debate. Rather, I am interested in knowing why the Arch developers, like the developers of some other distributions, such as Gentoo, but unlike some, such as Slackware, call for a boot partition, with ext2fs file system, on a default install. Should Arch users interpret this as a recommendation? Also, why is the partition quite a bit larger (although tiny compared to the available space on hard drives these days) than seems necessary?
    Thanks.

I've looked at a couple of books and a fair number of internet posts on this, and I must say that these responses are a good deal more concise and clear than what I have come across. I did find it interesting that the Slackware on-line manual doesn't make any effort to encourage it. On the other hand, what you guys are saying sounds sensible enough.
I have both Arch and Gentoo running, sharing a boot partition, which I set at 50MB. I'm using 25% of it, which is why I ask about size - obviously not in terms of overall capacity, but in terms of need.
Why not a lot less - say, even if one is considering dual boot, 20MB? And where do numbers like 32MB come from (the Arch, and indeed Gentoo, default, also referred to by T-Dawg)? Why not use round numbers?
Does 32MB have some rational/irrational/astrological/lucky 7 connection to 64MB RAM, sort of like designating 128MB as swap instead of using numbers like 120MB or 125MB or 130MB?
As you probably know, in Gentoo this stuff is done on the command line in fdisk, and I found it quite odd to be told in their manual to tell fdisk that the boot partition should be 32MB (assuming a single operating system) and swap should be 256MB, especially since fdisk and my hard drive took these numbers with a grain of salt and conspired to adjust them to slightly different numbers complete with decimals. Arch, on default, does the same.
Then I find out that with two operating systems, I'm using about 13MB out of 50MB (or rather 49.9MB, as fdisk and my hard drive decreed)
To change the subject a bit, I think that it is a good idea that the current version of Arch .08 would create, on the default track, a /home partition. There are some nice ideas in the install dialogue, including in the section on setting up a hard drive.
