Does Apple TV use a regular USB cable?

Do you need to ur chase the USB cable separately and is it a regular USB or a micro USB cable?

The USB cable is only needed if it becomes necessary to restore the ATV from a computer.
Any micro USB cable will work, it does not need to be specifically purchased from Apple or for the ATV.

Does my mac mini have a usb Cable? I have Hp pavilion Mx 70 computer screen and a mac Mini.

Your monitor shouldn't have anything to have with USB, but yes mac mini as 2 USB 2.0 ports, but you can't use them for monitors, infact you can't even plug in a keyboard and mouse unless you do it by USB so mouse and keyboard i think goes there, unless of course you get a splitter for USB 2.0, then you can plug in the mouse and keybord and the other accessories (external Hard Drive, Webcam, etc.)

  • Can I use iphone 4s USB cable to recharge for the new ipad

Can I use iphone 4s USB cable to recharge for the new ipad

The iPod, iPad & iPhone cables are identical, however, the chargers are not.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • Can I use the same USB cable for both the iPhone and the iPad?

Brnad new user of the iPad - can I use the same USB cable for both the iPhone and the iPad?  The iPad does not charge when plugged into the computer or the wall (110V) adapter.  I've been able to sync in iTunes using the same cable on both.

Actually, the iPad charger works just fine with iPhones and iPods.  The iPod/iPhone charger will charge an iPad very slowly but no harm will be done.

  • Will regular USB cables work with my macbook pro?

There could be a number of reasons I am having problems, but I have a Line 6 UNX interface that is compatible with Macs.  The software is installed but the mac doesn't seem to recognize the device via the USB port.  Will the USB cable from the Line 6 device work or will i need to purchase a firewire cable?

Googling "Line 6 UNX" produces no hits, so I have no clue what sort of device you're talking about. To the best of my knowledge, "regular USB cables" are the only USB cables in existence, so if you have such a cable that's known to be in working condition and your device is also in working order, it should be detected by the MBP. Have you tested another USB device (e.g. a flash drive or printer) in the same port on the computer, to make sure the port is active? If it isn't active, try resetting the SMC to bring it back to life:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
If the device also has a FireWire port available and you have a FireWire cable, you can certainly try connecting it via FireWire and see what happens. That may be an effective short-term workaround if you have one or more bad USB ports on your computer, but you will certainly want to remedy that situation before long.

  • TS3581 CAN YOU CONNECT A SHUFFLE (gen4) TO A KENWOOD CAR STEREO USING THE SHUFFLE USB CABLE ?

    HELLO TO ALL
ABIGMAC1 HERE! GOOD DAY TO ALL
JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE COULD ANSWER THIS
CAN YOU CONNECT A SHUFFLE (gen4) TO A KENWOOD CAR STEREO USING THE SHUFFLE USB CABLE ?
I CAN USE AN AUX  3.5 TO 3.5 BUT NO WAY TO READ THE LIBRARY. PLEASE HELP ME!
    THANK-YOU
    ABIGMAC1

Check the documentation for the car audio system for device compatibility.  A shuffle may not be compatible.
If the car audio system is able to use a regular USB flash drive connected to the USB port, you should just get an 8GB USB flash drive for $5-10, load it with your "car songs" and leave it connected to the car audio system, instead of constantly connecting and disconnecting an iPod.
If the car audio system has an aux. audio input mini-stereo jack, you can get something like this
    http://www.amazon.com/Monster-iCable-Player-Auxiliary-Input/dp/B002AR5XIK
and connect your shuffle's headphones jack to the car audio system.  You can then use your shuffle to play through the car audio system.

  • Can I use a midi/usb cable to connect to garage band?

Can I use a midi/usb cable to connect to garage band? Or do I need to buy an interface such as M-Audio. I have the M-TRACK, but haven't connected it yet.

    karbuckle10 wrote:
Do I need two cables back and forth between the M-TRACK or just one OUT from the piano and IN from the M-TRACK?
i must confess i haven't checked GBv10, but all previous versions (and i'm guessing GBv10 as well) have only supported MIDI-IN, so all you need is to run the keyboard's OUT to the interface's IN

  • Pc running Windows 7 does not recognise Envy 4502 unless usb cable is used.

Printer has been set up as per instructions and recognises home network. When connected to PC runningWindows 7 via usb cable, no problem. When cable is disconnected I get the message saying printer offline. I used a disc to install printer but had to find the correct driver from the HP website. Is the printer faulty or can anyone help with a remedy please?

    Hi @JaneL2
I wonder if maybe some ports need to be opened on the router settings. Please take a look at the following post by VisionAiry - Incoming and Outgoing Printer Ports.
Perhaps there is a firewall on the computer blocking the printer. have you checked your firewall settings, and or anti virus?
    Finally, and a highly possible root cause, is the printers IPv6 settings. Please turn off the IPv6 from the front panel of the printer with the following steps;
Select Settings on the front panel
    Go to Wireless
Navigate to and select Advanced settings
    Choose IPv6
    Turn IPv6 off
Please let me know if one of these suggestions does the trick. Thanks.

  • Can I sync a MacBook Pro to my iMac.......like syncing my iPhone or iPod Touch...using a common USB cable?

    Hullo all.
Am curious to know whether I can, on a regular basis, sync my new MacBook Pro to my main machine, the 27 inch iMac?
Obviously I do this with my iPhone, iPad2 and my iPod Touch.
I guess I would use a USB to USB cable...which I have, to allow the two Mac's to talk to each other.
Any suggestions? I do have Chronosync...should I try this application?

ps, I did buy the new iPad2 and love it...but, for all its brilliance , it is not a MBP......obviously!
So, I bought a new one to the one I sold a few months back, and it is fabulous, got a 500 gig machine this time!

Comment was an after thought! But it might help explain my situation!

Hi all, a bit surprised at total lack of feedback!
Maybe with the Cloud coming, we don't need to worry about manually syncing devices!!
So, can I conclude that you can't really 'sync' a MacBook to an iMac?
    Appreciate an answer
    Thanks

  • Can i use an extented usb cable to recharge my ipad ?

    Hello !
I just bought iPads for my business. I want to use it with stands and i'm looking for a way to recharge it. I bought a 5m extended usb cable, plugged it and the ipad made a sound like if it was recharging but then, it says, "not charging" !
How can i charge it ? Any ideas ? It seems that this 5m cable is useless...
    Thank you !

    Ok, i see...
But the thing is that i'm going to use it on a stand. The Apple charger doesn't go inside the tube of the stand so i need an usb extension...
I tried with my phone (Nexus 4), it worked !
Here is a plan as yours of what i need :
    iPad-----Lightning/USB inside the tube------------Extended USB cable----------Apple charger-------(eventually a classic electrical cord extension if i need it longer)---------Wall.

  • How much data does Apple TV use?

I am experiencing a large amount of data usage and cannot determine what the culprit is.  I am approaching my cap of data allowance on a regular basis.  Does anyone know how much data the Apple TV uses?  I realize it depends on what you are streaming.  I primarily stream Netflix (set on the lowest data rate)
    Thanks

I found this answer on NetFlix's blog sometime last year:
In the USA you have 3 video quality options: good quality, better quality, and best quality. Here is how much bandwidth they each use:
Good quality (up to 0.3 GB per hour)
Better quality (up to 0.7 GB per hour)
Best quality (up to 1 GB per hour, or up to 2.3 GB per hour for HD)
Depending on how many movies you watch this could have a huge impact on your monthly usage...obviously your ISP wants you to watch its own movies.

  • Using aftermarket chargers, USB cables

Has anyone had any issues using aftermarket home / car chargers and USB cables to charge their ipods? Or, heard of any horror stories? I bought a kit off ebay that comes with a retractable USB cable, car charger, and home charger that comes with all the safeguard circuitry to prevent overcharging and heat issues. I have a new Ipod Video 30GB that I'm about to use with these chargers. I just couldn't see purchasing the Apple Brand Charger for $29.00 where I bought all three items for less than $20.00 (includes shipping). I know I'm risking it with my warranty / etc. although I have not heard of any horrors stories... Here's a link to these chargers:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/APPLE-IPOD-3G-4G-NANO-MINI-U2-BLACK-CAR-WALL-CHARGER_W0QQite mZ9701956990QQcategoryZ73834QQcmdZViewItem
Pentium M 1.7 laptop   Windows XP Pro

I bought a set of generic car & wall chargers at Circuit City (not the same ones you have) and they didn't charge the 5G at all - but they didn't make it blow up either. They do work with my daughters Nano, so I gave them to her. As it has turned out I have not needed these chargers so I have not tried any others.
In short, my advice is to avoid the aggravation and just buy the apple ones.
