Does apple tv work with mountain lion without an hdmi cable?

Do I need to buy any cables to connect apple tv to my actual tv, in order to use airplay mirroring that mountain lion allows? Or do I simply need to plug apple tv into the wall and then wirelessly connect through the internet?

HDMI cables are dirt cheap if you know where to go.
Where to go: http://www.monoprice.com <--- 6' HDMI cables for around $3.

does filemaker 9 work with mountain lion?

No, I didn't find your post helpful.
I'm well aware that FileMaker does not indicate compatibility between FileMaker Pro 9 and Mountain Lion. However, in my experience, "compatibility" is a somewhat ambiguous term -- lack of compatibility doesn't mean that FM Pro 9 won't run under ML. There may indeed be some feature in FM Pro 9 that won't work properly -- but that doesn't mean that the app as a whole is, for example, unusable.
As another example, I believe that Roxio lists that Toast Titanium 9 won't run under Mountain Lion, either, but it seems to run just fine for me ;-)
Hence my question: has anyone tried?

  • HT1284 Does time machine work with Mountain Lion?

I had time machine set-up on my old iMac and had everything copied over to my new iMac.  Time machine isn't working.  I can't get it to recongize my external hard drive to back it up.  Does time machine not work with mountain lion?

Have you plugged the external drive to a different USB port?  Also, I would suggest you reset the PRAM.  If you still have the issue after you have done all this, it may be an issue with your external drive.  Try testing it on another computer.

  • Does Fast Track work with Mountain Lion (10.8) ?

As title, does the Fast Track USB Audio Interface from Avid works with Mountain Lion?
Drivers for 10.8 are not still avalaible, but maybe it's working for someone with 10.7 drivers.

    Hi rcraighead,
I was curious, did you do a update migration or an actual clean install of both the OSX and Illustrator?
I was also curious, have you seen any issues with 3rd party plugins running under 10.8 in Illustrator? For example I am curious about Scriptographer, etc., ?
    Thanks for any feedback.

  • HT1899 Does Windows XP work with Mountain Lion or not compatible?

Does Windows XP work with Bootcamp in Mountain Lion or is it not compatible?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Boot Camp 5, the version that comes with OS X Mountain Lion, is only compatible with Windows 7 and soon with Windows 8.
However, if you upgrade from an older OS X version and you have Windows XP or Windows Vista installed with Boot Camp, you can continue using it without any problem, but you won't be able to update the drivers

  • How does syncing Notes work with Mountain Lion ?

How does syncing Notes with Mountain Lion?

Notes are synched via IMAP.  IMAP is a protocol most frequently used by email.
So if you have an iCloud account and have set up a @me.com email address, that's what is used to sync.  For Gmail, that can be used as well, though Gmail's IMAP support has to be enabled on their site and their implementation is very nonstandard and can be problematic.  Best is to sync notes via iCloud.

  • Does iWork 08 work with Mountain Lion?

I've just moved up to Mountain Lion and was wondering if I can go on using iWork 08, especially Pages.
Will I need to purchase the latest version 09?

    John,
I'm happy for you even though I now feel like even more of a schmuck. When I installed the new 09 numbers, it immediately purged the 08 version so I couldn't go back to check even if I wanted. And of course, in keeping with what has become default Apple OS behavior, there was no cautionary window announcing that Numbers '08 would be deleted, offering me a choice. The choice was made for me, because Apple Knows Best.
I'll probably always own, and love, a mac; I've done so since the 80's. But my love has matured. I'm waiting on a new $249 chromebook, which should arrive tomorrow. It's my first non-mac machine since my old osborne, since my SE-30. I now own a rooted nook tablet and a galaxy phone, not an iphone or an ipad. I'm as excited as a schoolboy about unwrapping my slim new chromebook.
Jobs, in his final days at Apple, became interested in corporate architecture  –– he began to focus on how companies could fit together instead of how products and people fit together. Not that I wouldn't have done the same thing, given the power and the ability. It seems a natural evolution, to manipulate big chunks of society rather than mere individuals. But it's the Joni Mitchell syndrome. When he was hungry and aching, he was Everyman great. Once he knew he was great, he became self-indulgent. It's all still great work –– it's just not great work I have a passion for. I am, after all, still just an individual.
I approache Everything Apple with suspicion and trepidation now, from the new un-openable macbook pros and imacs to the software that controls my digital universe. Apple is about control. I still like freedom when I create. This little episode simply widens the gap between me and the love of my youth.

  • Why does snaps pro not work with mountain lion?

I spent a lot money purchasing the pro addition only to be told that it won't work with mountain lion due to Apple's written something into the code that does not permit me to make videos with it. I even tried ot make a video of Indesign acting up so i could send it to Adobe support and it wouldn't allow me to. Is this the resaon it suddenly doesn't work anymore? Are there plans to fix mountian lion to allow me to use my software? Alternatively,, does Apple have something that does screen captures of videos?

this is the repsonse form Ambrosia: (Not sure I understand it)
As far as Snapz Pro X 2 functionality, some major backend Digital Rights Management changes enacted by Apple may be what is preventing you from recording movies you were previously able to record using our software. Basically, our program can no longer access videos before the DRM protections are enabled, unfortunately we have no control over these changes. Please see the following FAQ:http://www.ambrosiasw.com/support/faqs/products/snapz-pro-x /Why-does-the-content-of-my-capture-display-as-a-checkerboard
BTW I am current on the latgest version.
Does anybody know how to work around my problem? I need to be able to record videos on my computer.

  • Does cs3 work with mountain lion?

Does CS3 work with Mountain Lion? or even Mavericks? Help!

Officially, Adobe supports CS5.5, CS6 and CC in Mountain Lion. I think only CS6 and CC in Mavericks. But many users here report being able to use any of the CS3 or later versions up to Mountain Lion without noticeable issues. Not enough reports yet by Mavericks users to say how well older versions work.

  • Does Onyx work with Mountain Lion?

Does Onyx work with Mountain Lion?  Also, if a program asks you to start up from disk, and you have Mountain Lion which was downloaded, then wouldn't that old disk replace the newer software?

Before using Onyx, or any such utility, you should backup your data:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-1992
note the 'b' in the version number of programs indicate it is a beta.   What I like to call a buggy everyday test application, or simply putting it, you are a guinea pig for the software developer.  Once you are sufficiently backed up, for what reason do you desire to use Onyx?  Mac OS X does its own "maintenance", and really Onyx should only be used to troubleshoot a backed up system.

  • Apple remote no longer works with mountain lion

The apple remote that was quite happily working with Lion no longer seems to be working with mountain lion.
I've checked with at least 3 other apple remotes I have and none of them seem to want to pair.
    I've been able to pair them with another mac running Lion, but when going to the pair option under;
    Preferences--> Security& Privacy --> General --> Advanced -> Pair
Pressing the menu and next for more than a minute gives me nothing on any of the remotes.
Anyone else having issues pairing with mountain lion?
*Note, each of the remotes quite happily will

I thought I had a problem pairing my aluminium Apple remote with EyeTV, but all turned out fine.
When I clicked Preferences --> Security & Privacy --> General --> Advanced --> Pair a message told to press the "Menu and Next" buttons until the remote paired with the computer. At first, I assumed this meant that I should press the two black buttons underneath the main, circular control, but nothing happened.
Then it struck me that the "Next" button might mean the right arrow on the main, circular control, so I held down this while holding the Menu button (the smaller button, below and to the left of the main, circular control), and the remote paired within a few seconds!
I don't have one of the older, white Apple remote controls to test this idea with, but something similar may also work with that remote.

  • HT1338 preview does not work with mountain lion

I updated my mid 2011 mac mini to mountian lion and i find Preview and all of MS Office 2011 for MAC fails to work
I can cut and paset the logs, but lets astart with assessing whagt does not work with Mountain Lion.

Your profile lists a 2008 MacBook with Snow Leopard.
I installed Windows XP into Bootcamp on my 2009 MacBook Pro (either in Leopard or Snow Leopard, I do not remember which) and I used it with Parallels 6.
When I upgraded it to Lion, even though the Lion Bootcamp will NOT install Windows XP, my Bootcamp (and use by Parallels 7) survived the upgrade.
It may be possible that it will also survive and operate a future upgrade to Mountain Lion.
