Does Apple warrenty a cracked screen if you don't have insurance?

Does Apple warrenty or cover a cracked screen on an iphone 5 if you don't have insurance?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Accidental damages aren't covered by the warranty, so you will have to get a refurbished iPhone for $229. That's because Apple doesn't repair iPhones, iPods touch or iPads

If you have an existing ID, & you don't want to use a credit card, you'll have to redeem an iTunes gift card. If you don't want to do that, you'll have to create a new ID by following the directions here, EXACTLY:

  • Does apple still take cracked screen returns?

  • HT4993 Does apple care cover cracked screens?

I was wondering if appel care covered cracked screens? Help please.

Only if it came that way when you bought it or was caused by a manufacturing defect. Otherwise, it's considered the result of user negligence and not covered by the warranty. Take it in for service to find out.

  • So I have a gold and black iPhone 5 and when I bring it to the apple store all they say is you don't have the warrantee cause it's personalized? If it's an iPhone you guys should repair it right?

Aright, so I have an iPhone 5 and it can't keep a charge. But not only can it not keep a charge, it cant be charged. I've tried new chargers, it still does not work. I brought it into the apple store near me and they said we can't fix your phone cause its black and gold. my questions are: If I have an iPhone 5 shouldn't I have me warrantee? And if not because of my colors on my iPhone why that too?

    1. To customise the phone you had to open it. You could have done any amount of damage in there.
    2. Apple do not repair iPhones, they replace them, and then use the handed in phone for refurbishment. You do not have an Apple iPhone usable for refurbishment, as you have changed major parts of it for non-Apple parts.

  • Does Apple stores replace cracked screens??

    Please Help!!!!

    Only for iPhone 5.
If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5s. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.
You may take your device to an Apple retailer for help or you may call Customer Service and arrange to send your device to Apple:

There are third-party firms that do repairs on iDevices, and there are places where you can order parts to DIY if you feel up to the task:

  • Does Apple warranty cover cracked screens?

I just got a white 64 GB iPhone 4S on Halloween and a little kid threw it on a marble floor and the screen is completely cracked ALL over.
I recall back in 2008 a kid slammed my mom's white MacBook which cracked the screen and Apple fixed it for free within a matter of days.
I guess my family doesn't have much luck when it comes to Apple products and little kids, huh?
    Any ideas?

My son fell and used the phone to break his fall on concrete and shattered it. If the display isn't damaged And only glass needed then 129 dollars is still far more than needed. You can get the replacement kit for £20. I got mine fitted for £40 in total.
So if the poster sees no bleeding in the display then I recommend just getting glass replaced which won't cost 129 usd

  • Does apple care cover cracked screens?

My screen cracked and I purcahsed applecare and the computer two years ago. Does Applecare cover this?

My understanding is that AppleCare does not cover accidental damage.
    AppleCare covers manufacturing defect.
    Give AppleCare a call. 1-800-275-2273
    Nothing to lose.
    Best.

  • Does apple care protect cracked screens?

    ???????????

No. That is accidental damage and is NOT covered. However, perhaps you have homeowners insurance that will cover it? Does the credit card you purchased the iPhone with have such protection?
If not, you can return your phone to Apple for a $199.00 non-warranty replacement.

  • How do I remove an old apple ID off an iPad when you don't have the original user's log in information?

Hi, my company has recently started issuing techs iPhones and iPads. I have an iPad here we got back from an employee after termination. He gave me his 4 digit passcode to get into the iPad, I removed the passcode to unlock, and did a reset on the device. Turn it on, I get the "Hello" screen and the initial set up pages. I get to the page with  "input your Apple ID" and when I tried to enter a new ID, it wouldn't accept it because the device had already been associated with a different Apple ID. The prompt it gave was to log in online with the original Apple ID and remove the device. Well... can't do that since the employee is long gone and that's not going to happen. So what do I do here? How do I remove it to set up a new Apple ID?

Without the ID/password, you won't be able to use it. Suggest you take it to an Apple store. They may have some advice.

As you know my iPod has been having issues so I was wondering if I can exchange my iPod. But I don't know the requirements for exchanging your iPod touch. What do you need. Or can I get repaired.
    My issues are:
    -broken screen
    - app issues
    - screen not responding
    - screen zooming in
    - killing battery very quickly
    - not updating
Does this mean that I need to buy another one or what should i do I need advice.

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price:

Yu can make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store for the exchange.

  • Does the warranty cover cracked screens?

Does the warranty cover cracked screens? I dropped it by accident?

SantannaF, just what are you saying?
    - The warranty that covmes with the iPod does not cover a broken screen.
    - When this post was written, there wan an extented warranty, AppleCare that yo could purchase the increased the waranry period from one year to two years. It still did not cover accidental damage like a broken screen.
    - Now, Apple offers for a price, AppleCare+. That covers replacment for a broken screen for a fee of $29
extends your coverage to two years from the original purchase date of your iPod and adds up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage, each subject to a $29 service fee plus applicable tax.1
