Does AppleCare cover a broken screen?

Does AppleCare cover a broken screen?

Regular AppleCare will only cover it if the screen broke due to a manufacturing defect. AppleCare+ also covers two accidental damage incidents.

Does AppleCare cover cracked screens on iPads

The standard 1-year Apple Care warranty only covers defects in materials and workmanship, not damage due to accidents.
Apple's Limited Warranty http://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/ for iPad excludes coverage for damage resulting from accident, disassembly, unauthorized service and unauthorized modifications.
    Out-of-Warranty Service
If you own an iPad that is ineligible for warranty service but is eligible for Out-of-Warranty (OOW) Service, Apple will replace (Apple doesn't repair) your iPad with an iPad that is new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability for the Out-of-Warranty Service fee listed below. (The replacement will most likely be a refurbished iPad in a brown box, however, it has a new screen, back and battery.)
    iPad model
    Out-of-Warranty Service Fee
    iPad mini
    $219
    iPad 3rd, 4th generation

Certain damage is ineligible for out-of-warranty service, including catastrophic damage, such as the device separating into multiple pieces, and inoperability caused by unauthorized modifications. However, an iPad that has failed due to contact with liquid may be eligible for out-of-warranty service. See http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=United_States&product=ipad

  • Does Applecare cover damaged/cracked screens? Replacement options?

Is there a cost effective way to fix a cracked screen on iphone 4(16GB in contract ATT)?
Purchased June 2011 with additional Applecare(not Applecare +)
    The options I've considered:
    1. NEW
         buy new iphone 4 $549 8GB
         buy new iphone 4S $649 16GB
    2. USED
         buy used iPhone 4 online
*anywhere from $275-500 locally in Chicago
    3. CLAIM
Make claim under Home insurance(deductible applies $500)
    4. Cancel contract woth current carrier and subsequently buy new iPhone4s with either VZ or Sprint
*Early term applies plus cost of new phone(and loss of unlimited data)Estimate at $484
Thanks for any and all ideas--this would be the 2nd phone replaced this year!

  • Does applecare cover a cracked screen?

The terms & conditions seem to say it will up to a point. That is, two accidents are covered, but require a $49 service fee. Somehow, it's not totally clear to me if that includes a screen cracked because of being dropped.

No, accidental damage is not covered by AppleCare.
If you bought AppleCare+, you get 2 incidents of replacement for $50.

  • Does Applecare cover cracked LCD Screen?

I am assuming, but just want to double check, that if my friend was stupid enough to bash his MacBook a little too hard and cause a small crack in the LCD then this would not be covered under Applecare? Am I correct in assuming this?
    Thanks for any advice!

Would it also be sensible to assume that a crack of this nature would be easily identifiable as such? i.e. is there any chance of the crack being mistaken for a manufacturing defect?
    Thanks again!

  • Does applecare cover the screen replacement?

does applecare cover the screen replacement?

What Apple product? Almost all of them have screens!
One could infer that since this is the iPhone forum that the device in question is an iPhone.

  • Does AppleCare cover my dimming iBook LCD screen?

    Hi - Simple question.
Does AppleCare cover my dimming iBook LCD screen? I've had the iBook less than two years, and the screen seems about 50% (maybe a little more) as bright as it was when I bought it.
Note, I also had to have the logic board replaced immediately after purchase, since it blew due to a heat issue. I understand the video module is on the logic board, too. I don't use it more than 1-5 hours, maybe two or three days a week, at a time (I have two other desktop Macs). The real, real problem is, it's my music workstation! Hard to edit notes in Logic Express when-I-can't-see-what-I'm-doing!
Any thoughts or answers? It's getting to be a real bummer not being able to use the iBook as a portable laptop in any brightly lit area.
Really, now. Sorry, I can't make the 10AM meeting, it's too bright in the meeting room with those overhead skylights... unless it's cloudy or raining...
    ~Robb

It certainly should! My iBook screen is as bright as ever--I got it in March of 2004 and none of the updates had any effect on the brightness. So your iBook screen should not be getting dim from normal wear and tear--there is something definitely wrong. If it's not due to a preference setting or something like that, be sure and take it in for diagnosis and repair before your warranty runs out.
    Good luck!

  • Does applecare cover cracks

    does applecare cover cracks

Cracked screens are not covered by the standard AppleCareor the normal warranty. You will have to pay an out of warranty fee for screen replacement. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • Does Applecare cover Macbook adapter accidents??

The part of my Macbook adapter that plugs into the computer fell into a cup of water (fail, I know). As a result, the adapter tip is fried I need a new one and before I start searching for cheaper ones on Amazon or eBay, I need to know: Does Applecare cover Macbook adapter accidents?? I've had my Macbook for less than three years and so I should still be covered.
Applecare says it covers adapters, but I'm not sure about accidents. Should I go to the Genius bar and say it's an accident? I can't lie about the way the tip of the adapter is certainly fried. This is a different kind of accident. Someone, please help.

Does Applecare cover Macbook adapter accidents?
AppleCare doesn't cover accidental damage. Homeowner's insurance, a credit card, or third-party insurance might.

Does applecare cover replacing the battery?  My iPhone 5 battery goes dead very quickly now and I am sure it needs replaced.

If your phone is still in warranty then a battery replacement is covered.
Even if it's out of warranty it may still be eligible for a free replacement through Apple's recent program:

  • Does applecare  cover water damage for iphone 4s?

does applecare+  cover water damage for iphone 4s?

Yes it seems so as the description says for up to 2 "incidents." Each incident is $49. More info here:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/S4575?mco=MjU5MTk4MjQ
Im still sorta thinking about it myself. You'd be basically spending $150 for incident #1 and $50 for incident #2, but during the next 2 years only.

My understanding is that Applecare does cover the earpods. Simply either take the faulty ones to an Apple Store or, if that it is not convenient, contact Applecare through the Apple website.
