Does auto fill work or not?

I have enabled auto fill on my iphone (os 4) and also on my mac for safari.
I cannot get it to work on iphone. The button is clickable, but it does nothing. I have manually logged into the web site several times, still the button does nothing. I am testing it for Google Voice logon (a gmail account login).
How do you get this to work? This should be simple.

Same issue here. Enabling Autofill in Settings does not have any effect on any of the sites I have logged into, while it worked fine for these same sites under iOS3 (fields were prepopulatd). The "Autofill" button is greyed out.

  • To what extent does auto-syncing work...?

I have researched this but can not find the answer anywhere.
I need to know to what extent does auto-syncing work?
I started my library quite some time ago, and I didn't want to use the auto-sync feature. My library has grown very large and to be honest, I still wouldn't mind doing the manual syncing if my behavior and/or needs hadn't changed. However, I am now going back and adding artwork and making some slight modifications to several songs. Overall, through one type of change or another, this will affect the vast majority of my library. What I need to know is if I were to make info-related changes, will the syncing make the modifications on the ipod, or will they be ignored?
For instance, here are some of the types of changes that I am beginning to make:
    - Adding Artwork.
    - Changing a track name from "Living in a box" to "Livin' in a box"
    - Adding info to the various fields such as album author, comments.
    - Modifying a track name from "Love is a Battlefield" to "Love Is A Battlefield"
    - Changing an album name from "Miami Vice Soundtrack" to "Miami Vice [Soundtrack]" or "Shrek (Soundtrack)" to "Shrek [Soundtrack]"
    - Updating an artist's name from "Jackson Five" to "Jackson 5"
Any insights would be most appreciative.
    Bill

While in Manual sync, any changes you make in iTunes will not get put onto the iPod until you drag the songs over.
Any changes you make on the iPod thru iTunes will not be on the original in iTunes.
    Any rating,
Any reason you are using manual sync instead of Auto sync?
If you don't want (or can't) to put everything in iTunes on the iPod, use selected playlists and manage those playlists.
When you make changes to the songs in iTunes, they will get updated onto the iPod automatically.

  • Why does auto fill show up sometimes on my GMail sign in page and sometimes it doesn't?

Why does auto fill show up sometimes on my GMail sign in page and sometimes it doesn't? I am using Firefox 3.6.6 on a Windows Vista system.

and have tried it on a mac desktop also - same problem.

Select the General tab then select:  Show External Disks

  • HT201320 Why does auto fill not recognize my email address

I have set up auto fill. It use to work fine till I cloud was installed. Now when I use auto fill all the information is filled out. But when the page refreshes, it comes back as a invalid email address even though everything is correct. Is there a solution.

Was this group email successfully sent by your .Mac
    account?
No; that was the first time I received the error message.
How many recipients were included with this group
    mailing?
    30+
Do you send a number of messages to a large number of
recipients on a daily basis with your .Mac account?
No; I do periodically, maybe 3-4 times a year to announce major changes with firm. Emails have worked in the past but possible I did them from my road runner account.
As with most other email accounts, .Mac has a sending
limit on the total number of recipients per message
and the total number of recipients for all messages
sent in a 24 hour period.
You ISP at home is RoadRunner but you use a different
    ISP at the shared office?
Yes; trying to find out who it is.
If you are also accessing your RR email account with
the Mail.app and RR is not your ISP at the shared
office, are you able to send messages with your RR
email account and SMTP server when connected to the
    internet at the shared office?
I access the RR email via the RR website, not via the Mail App.
Just hitting all angles in an attempt to eliminate
    possible causes of this problem.

  • Why won't  Safari auto-fill work most of the time?

Safari Auto-fill sends me a note it can't fill because the info doesn't match--but it does match. Won't even fill in address, etc. Happens about 60% of the time. Thank you!

    Hi cmate;
You might have better luck with your Safari question if you posted it over in the Safari forum.

  • I need to know how to turn off my auto fill i do not like haveing that info accessable to hakers and do not want my computer to remember credit card numbers?

i looked in tools to options and then to privacy but i do not see a box saying remember the text that i type. i do not know if this is a program on firefox or windows that is auto fill.

You can set the pref <b>browser.sessionstore.privacy_level</b> to 2 (never) or 1 (non-HTTPS, default in Firefox 3 versions) on the <b>about:config</b> page to disable saving cookies via session restore.
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.sessionstore.privacy_level
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold(user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

  • Why does email address auto-fill in mail not work?

When composing a new email, if I understand correctly, as you type the name, a suggestion SHOULD pop up with the address of the person.
This works perfectly in iOS (iPhone/iPad) but does not work on both my MacBook Pros...
    What is the solution?
I tried deleting all contacts, export to CSV, re-import etc. but to no avail...
    Thanks for your help

  • How does auto update work in AIR 2.5?

    Hi,
We are about to deploy Adobe AIR Runtime 2.5 in our organization.
To do this we use the following command line
    AdobeAIRInstaller.exe -silent -eulaAccepted
This works great. But I am not sure how to disable the automatic updates.
When reading the Adobe AIR configuration guide, http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/admin/WS485a42d56cd1964167ea49bd124ef17d52a-7ff5.html it says I should create the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\AIR\UpdateDisabled and set it to 1.
But when I run the AIR SettingsManager application after I set this registry key it says that automatic updates are enabled.
And if I choose to disable automatic updates from the tool it creates the file %APPDATA%\Adobe\AIR\updateDisabled.
How can I make sure that automatic updates are disabled for all users on all the computers we deploy Adobe AIR Runtime 2.5 to?
Since we are doing an enterprise deployment it is not really an option to ask each and every user to run AIR SettingsManager every time they logon to a new computer
    Regards Erik

    Thanks Chris!

  • Why doesnt my auto fill work or my history show for safari?

ever since the ios6 update, i no longer had history on my safari, AND autofill no longer worked.
thought that getting the iphone 5 would alleviate the problems.
when i go to settings, autofill is "on"
    please help!

Hi audreyy1006. Now I don't know what year and model MacbookPro your using or what operating system. But I'll see if I can help.First go to you utilities folder/disk utilities and repair permissions and verify you hard disk.  Then see it you can reset your pram. Command/Option/P/R while holding down the power button while starting. Hold them down for three Chimes and release. Then try this.http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295 On rare occasions the battery on  Macbook can become swollen and effect the keyboard or track pad. I don't know if your is removable or not to check.  Or you keyboard is faulty and needs replaced. The safari problem might be something else. You could open safari and look in the safari preferences under extensions and turn then off and see if that helps. One of your extensions could be an adware virus that redirects or stops web pages loading. If you have one I'd need to know what to say how to get rid of it.

  • Does auto provisioning work with position based security

We are implementing GRC 5.3 and use position based security.  I am able to run risk analysis for position based security but now we want to use CUP and push our roles to the positions.  And finally we want to associate the user to the position.  We want to do all of this through GRC.  Is this possible?
    Thanks!

    Peggy,
For this to work, click on the tab (on top) which says by system. Here you can set up autoprovisioning by system. If you have 5.2, I don't know if this is available or not but it is available in 5.3.

  • How does auto-recharge work?

I have a question on how the automatic charge works?? I was skyping with my btother earlier today and I got charged while we were both using skype is it not free anymore? ? Cause I'm about to explode right now???

Do you have  a case on it?
Remove it and see if it solves.  The case could be blocking the sensor.
Here is a link to the manual again:

  • IPhoto doesn't see my camera, but Finder does. Sometimes works, sometimes not.

Sometimes, when I connect my camera to my iMac via a USB port, iPhoto does not see the device. Normally, iPhoto starts automatically when the camera is connected. The problem occurs whether or not iPhoto is not running and is initiated manually, or is already running when the camera is connected. In all cases, Finder sees the device and shows it in its list of active devices.
I have been using this camera and this iMac for a few years without any problems. This problem has only starting occuring in the last two weeks.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    John

In response to a similar problem reported, it was suggested to repair disk permissions using the disk utility. I did this, but it had no effect. However, after restarting my iMac, the problem was resolved. So, don't know if repairing disk permissions had any effect, or whether simply restarting cleared the problem. Next time it occurs, I will simply restart to see if this is all that is needed.

  • MiFi2200 does this device work? not kidding is this technology ready to go?

    I received mine 11/5/2010, it is now 11/22 /2010.
First unit micro USB connector pulled off device, Second unit has been 2- weeks with tech support, 2-trip to store and tech support. Last trip they actually connected to YAHOO, I went home end it was as before not working. I tried it at a neighbors in next town and my brothers 10 miles away, all just says connected to  secure VErizon. I have great phone reception (metro - NJ).
I suspect that store tech support just connected to local wi-if and told me it works, They previously huddled for 35 minutes around my laptop looking mystified.
So seriously, pls LMK before I keep this {word filter avoidance} Can I ever expect this device to work. I'm thinking that I should just go back to a proven technology.... Cable or gulp DSL.
    BRuce
    pls e-mail{edited for privacy}
I want to end this stupidity

A MiFi should work. We have 50 of them, and they all work. If yours doesn't it's broken.

  • Upgraded to 8.3, now auto fill is not working. I have checked, rechecked my info, saved passwords, etc. to no avail. Is this bug in 8.3. Never did this until I upgraded.

Upgraded IPad to to 8.3, now auto fill is not working. I have checked, rechecked "my info", "saved passwords", etc. to no avail. Is this bug in 8.3. Never did this until I upgraded. Wife is not happy I upgraded!

Auto fill works for me in iOS 8.3.
Try the standard troubleshooting steps in this order:
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds). No data will be lost.
Restore: Connect your device to iTunes on your computer, backup, and then select Restore to Factory.
See here for more details on restore: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201252
If none of these work your device may have developed a hardware problem. Contact Apple Support: http://www.apple.com/contact/

  • Safari 3 Gmail auto-fill no longer working, latest Gmail software

Gmail now indicates that auto-fill (of email addresses) is not supported on Safari. They say it will work with Firefox. Auto fill worked fine until the last Gmail client update, plus Safari 3.
I feel it's in Apple's best interest to work this out with Google, quickly. Anybody else aware of this? I see multiple postings on Google's Gmail support site.

I noticed this yesterday but I swear it was working this last week and I have had Leopard and newest Safari on the machine since Oct. 30. I noticed Safari wasn't pre-filling like it used to and assumed it had to do with 1password which I have loaded up recently.
I hope Google and Apple get this worked out - I was just celebrating the fact that Safari is now able to let us use Google the way it should be used.
