Does BC email support a catch all account?

Hi
Can I setup one email account to catch all emails to *@domain.com and if yes, how do I do it?

Catch-alls are no longer be available with OpenSRS - they are not supported because they contribute to spam since they do not trigger bouncebacks for non-existent email addresses. Customers will need to setup aliases to catch email sent to common email addresses such as sales@, help@ et.

Does anyone know if mail server has support for  catch all email address

I now do want to catch all email as it has become my lives work to report spam.
So I figured out an easier way to catch all email using simply the serveradmin command-line tool (this only takes email that would otherwise bounce):
sudo serveradmin settings mail:imap:lmtp_luser_relay_enabled = yes
sudo serveradmin settings mail:imap:lmtp_luser_relay = catchallusername
    sudo postfix reload

  • Does icloud email support the DMARC standard?

    Hello,
Does icloud email support the DMARC standard?  Some of the emails that come into my icloud.com should an unknown dmarc status in the headers.  For example:
    pass=?; dmarc-policy=(noPolicy); s=; d=
is contained in the header of some emails.   I send the same email to a gmail account and it shows dmarc setup properly.  Are their special rules for icloud for DMARC?
    Thanks,

If I'm not mistaken, GMail is more robust in allowing you control over whether you automatically reply using the address to which a message was sent, to avoid inadvertently revealing your real or main address when dealing with mail from aliases, unless iCloud does that by default (I've only used this type of feature through GMail but was tending to my old Mac.com address and ran across your post...).

  • Custom Reply-To with Catch-All Account

I have a catch-all account on my domain. Say [email protected] When I give out my email address to a company, I make one up based on the name of that company, say: [email protected] When I receive an email from SomeCompany, I want to hit reply and have the "Send To" field (which is my address: [email protected]) become the "Reply-To" field. So when SomeCompany receives an email reply from me, it reads "From: [email protected]" not [email protected]
Incidentally the beauty of this setup is, if "SomeCompany" were to sell my email address, I would know who sold it and I could block that address without disrupting any other company's delivery to my email address.
I would also like to be able to originate an email to SomeCompany using [email protected] as the "From" address.
    Is this doable?
      Mac OS X (10.4.8)

When I receive an email from SomeCompany, I want to hit reply and have
the "Send To" field (which is my address: [email protected])
    become the "Reply-To" field.
I don’t think there is a way to do this automatically in Mail. You can, however, customize the header section for composing mail so that Reply-To appears there and manually enter the desired address there every time -- see Mail Help’s “Customizing the new message window” article for details.
I would also like to be able to originate an email to SomeCompany
using [email protected] as the "From" address.
This is described in Mail Help’s “Adding multiple email alias addresses to an account” article, but it may not be practical if you have many aliases.

I have a similar situation with multiple accounts on a freeserve domain. This all worked fine up with Thunderbird up until about a month ago - not sure exactly when it stopped retrieving any mail apart from the main name items. I've never had to set anything up with the Freeserve/Orange servers as the response suggests - some setting in Thunderbird has been changed!

  • Get all new messages does not work on all accounts

I have several accounts set up. using "Get all new messages" works about 20 percent of the time.
I have tried "repairing" all folders - no change
tick to "include this server when getting new email" is greyed out
All accounts pop off the same server, same isp.
Used to work - but has got worse and worse over the past year.
Can't find anyone else on the forums with the exact same issue.

Check : Make sure all of these are selected for the problem pop mail account
    * Tools > Account Settings > Server Settings
    * select : 'Check for new messages at startup'
    * select : ' check for new messages every eg: 15 minutes
    * select : ' Automatically download new messages'
    * click on OK to save and close account settings.
If these settings are already selected, then something must be overriding a setting.
    So try this:
    * Tools > Options > Advanced > General tab
    * click on 'Config Editor' button - it will tell you to be careful :)
    * In the top search type: biff
    * look for this line : mail.server.default.download_on_biff;
    * If Value = 'false', double click on that line to toggle the 'False' to 'True' or right click on line and choose 'Toggle'
    * close window - top right X
    * click on OK to save and close 'Options'.

  • Mail 4.5 not retrieving catch-all mail from Pop Server.

I use email fowarding for a domain (hosted at Godaddy) to forward to my verizon email account. For example: [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected] are forwarded to [email protected]  The Mail 4.5 client on my MacBook Pro (OSX 10.6.8) retrieves all this forwarded email correctly from the Verizon Pop3 server.
I also have one of the domain email aliases setup as a catch-all account. For example [email protected] is configured as the catch all. Mail addressed to [email protected] is also retrieved from the Pop3 server correctly.
But any mail directed to the catch-all account because the email address is invalid such as [email protected] is not retrieved by Mail 4.5 client.
The 'catch-all' email is being forwarded correctly to my Verizon Pop server. If I log in to Verizon Webmail I can see the forwarded 'catch-all' emails in the Webmail Inbox. Also if I use Outlook 2010 on my PC to retrieve my Pop mail, it correctly brings down the 'catch-all' email.
It certainly appears like something internal to Apple Mail is filtering the 'catch-all' email and not retrieving it from the Pop3 Server.
If you can understand what I'm trying to report - can you help me figure out what is wrong?

  • Catch-all configuration

I am running multiple virtual domains with users associated with these domains and all is fine.
I need to configure a 'catch-all' account for all emails sent to *@domain.com where * is users that are not defined.
I tried the 'copy all undeliverable mail' option in system admin but get partial results? some emails get redirected to the mailbox I specified while others bounce back with a 550 'user unknown' error.
I need a fool-proof way to do this - any guidance would be much appreciated

  • Pop Catch All

Got a bit of a problem,
i recently set up a new website, which comes with a pop email account, tried setting it up with mail and its not recognising the server, for the hosting company, but know the account works because the webmail sends and receives email.
it is a catch all account
So i've set up the account in the regular way, ive tried it like this:
    ADD ACCOUNT
    FULL NAME
    EMAIL ADDRESS: **@websitename.co.cc
    PASSWORD
    INCOMING MAIL SERVER
    Account type: Pop
incoming mail server: mail.000hosted.com [provided by hosting company]
username: [Username provided by hosting company]
    password
    outgoing mail server
smtp.000hosted.com (which is stated by hosting company, but im not sure is right)
im also not sure if i need to use a username and password.
i can receive email ok, but sending is a problem. ive also tried mail.000hosted.com as the outgoing server, and pop.000hosted.com, with and without passwords.
am i being a complete moron about this or there just something wrong with the web hosting? - it is free but its only a pet project.
    thanks in advance

at 000.hosted.com you only get smtp access with premium accounts not the free ones.

  • Does iOS 6 support POP email account?

Does iOS 6 support using POP email accounts?  And if so, how do I set one up?

Did go to Charter.net and went looking for assistance. Surprise! The answer was right there waiting for me, sorta. Looked under Support > Mobile Email Settings. Voila !
I got the account to load on the iPhone 3Gs using iOS 6.  Had to change the settings to be "mobile.charter.net" and it is an IMAP account now.
    How strange.
Thanks for all the helpful folks.

You have to look at the email protocol being used.  the Apple email system uses IMAP, does Tinyworld use IMAP or POP?
Does the email system permit delivery receipts to be requested?
Just some of the things one needs to determine from the information provided by the email service provider.

  • How to setup a catch all email accounts on a domain?

I am currently hosting several different domains on our server. On one of the domains, we would like to set up a catch all email account. Right now we have [email protected], and [email protected], but would like emails sent to any other address ('anything'@domain.com) to be directed to the [email protected] Is there a way to set up a wild card email address entry for a specific user account?

    Don't do this. Seriously.
Your wildcard account will get inundated with every dictionary-based spam directed at your domain.
Many spambots just try common names at every domain they can find - alex@, andrew@, joe@, john@, etc. sometimes generating tens of thousands of messages in the hope that one or two names match legitimate accounts.
If you setup a wildcard account, all these messages will be accepted and dumped into this mailbox. If you don't have a wildcard account the messages will be rejected with a 'no such user' error (or dropped silently, depending on your mail server setup).
If you really do want to do it, then you need to get under the hood and configure postfix manually (Server Admin won't do this for you). The specifics are covered in the Postfix virtual accounts documentation.

  • Does lion server support a single email address across multiple devices??

I am looking to move from an outdated Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 to OS X Lion Server but I am unsure as to how Lion will handle email. I do not want to spend money on a new windows server if I can get a Mac Mini Server to do the job. I am a very small business with a number of email accounts for a couple employees and need access to email and calendar from both the office iMac's and my Macbook Pro when on the road. My IT guy says I need Exchange but he's been off base on a few other items recently and I wanted to check with other sources.
I have 2 new iMac's, a MacBook Pro, an iPad1 and and iPhone4 on the mac side of things and 2 windows computers running XP. I would get rid of the windows computers completely if not for my CAD program which runs best not in a virtual machine mode.
How well will email and calendar entries sync across devices?

I have a very similar setup at my office. Lion Server will push email, calandar, contacts to all of your apple product with out a hitch.
As far the Windows XP machines, you can access email over IMAP with Thunderbird, and calandars via sunbird or the built in web app.
I would ditch the exchange server move to Mac OS X Server, and never look back.
    God Luck!
PS. All of your devices will be in sync all the time.
    Shore answer:
Does lion server support a single email address across multiple devices??
    Yes.

  • HT201320 Does my email service provider have to provide the ability for me to create an IMAP email account in order for me to create Sub-folders within Apple Mail?

Hi, Apple Mail provides a function to create sub-folders within my mailbox so that I can group emails of similar subjects or from the same sender. My service provider only provides POP email protocol and the New Folder button does not appear in my Apple Mail account for that service provider. Icloud provides the opportunity for the iPad user to select between POP and IMAP. I can select IMAP and the New Folder button appears allowing me to create sub-folders within the icloud email account. Does this mean I cannot create sub-folders in my email account unless my service provider provides customers with the option of creating an IMAP email account?
This appears to be a problem for quite a few Apple Mail users, but service providers appear reticent to provide a response other than 'use Microsoft Exchange / Hotmail, Google GMail, or some other third party email service provider'. This is why I have chosen icloud as my email service provider. It is Apple and therefore Apple supports it. I have been a Telstra customer for over 15 years and they informed me today, strongly, that they support their own products and services, not Apple products, even though Telstra sell them. When I asked the Telstra Customer Support Manager whether they support Telstra customers, I was informed 'no, because the Telstra customer is not a Telstra product or service'. I have since cancelled my Telstra email account and am in the process of cancelling all of my Telstra services.

    Apple Sceptic wrote:

Yes. That is what it means. You need an IMAP account in order to create sub folders on the iPad.
