Does best buy care about their promises made on delivery date?

i've placed an order LAST thursday, and as an elite plus member i get expedite shipping automatically (accroading to bestbuy definitaion, it's a two day delivery). plus, on the confirmation emial, it says 'get it by: tuesday, jan 13th.
and only until noon today (monday), i received an email containing an tracking number from bestbuy. since best buy shipped my item out one day late, i was expecting a overnight shipping so that they can delivery my item ontime, like all other online retialers would do. but it is not. it is only ups ground, by which i will be lucky to get it in another two days.
what is worse is, until 10:00pm, ups doesnt seem to have received the package yet.
so best buy, why dont you use overnight to cover your mistake, instead, you are asking me to pay for your delay? i've been a long time constomer for both amazon and bestbuy. and amazon sometime do ship out items late, and honestly it happened a lot. but whenever they are behind the schedule, they use the fastest shipping to try to catch up the time.
best buy, you knew it was behind the schedule already when you ship it out today, why dont you use overnight shipping? were you just hoping that i wont notice? or you think it doesnt matter, your promise to your customers doesnt metter? if you dont even have the attempt to try to catch up the schedule and fullfill your promise to your clients, i can only imagine people shop less than less on bestbuy.com, and instead, go to amazon.com
hey guys, really, if you can find something on both bestbuy and amazon, go to amazon. they dont ask you to spend thousnads of dollars before give you free two days shipping, and when they are behind the schedule, they will at least try to fulfill their promises, rather than ignoring the promise.

Hello garyleecn,
Welcome to the forum, and thank you for being a My Best Buy Elite Plus member. One benefit from being such a member is receiving free expedited shipping on most items from BestBuy.com, so I’m sorry to hear your online order isn’t arriving as quickly as you hoped. I’m sure you’re anxious to get your hands on your purchase, so I can understand why it’d be frustrating to encounter such a shipping delay.
According to our Shipping Costs & Timing policy, any expedited shipping order may take up to two business days to ship to your home. Unfortunately, there are circumstances outside of our control that can cause unexpected delays. However, you mentioned your order was mailed via UPS Ground. Please know that expedited shipping simply outlines the timeframe that the order should arrive, not necessarily the carrier’s method of shipment. This means that if you live close enough to a UPS shipping hub, UPS could deem it was unnecessary to expedite your order, as ground shipping would have gotten it there just as fast.
Having said this, I realize this situation is far from ideal, and I’d appreciate the opportunity to look into your order to see what exactly happened. In order to do this, please send me a private message with as much of the following information as possible.

Best Buy lies in their ad about what they will do with their calibration!
The ad that promotes Best Buy calibration here:
    http://images.bestbuy.com/BestBuy_US/en_US/images/abn/2008/tvv/pcon/BestBuy_HDTV_Calibration.pdf?h=4...
    clearly states:
    A calibration session

    HDTV’s inputs will be
    calibrated specifically
    for the video output
    from those two devices.
    Calibration also

The actual calibration you get is:

    You were warned!

This is right, calibration does not include setting up of audio or video components.  A calibration tech will makes sure, for instance, your 5.1 system has the speakers in the correct position.  If your rear-left is in the front soundstage, that can be corrected on site.  Most of what they do on site is run the auto-calibration software on an AV receiver if it has not already been done.  Other than that, you can opt to pay up to $800 for a full-fledged ISF or THX calibration from an independent calibrator.  You get a very good value for the $199.
The service provides a "video" calibration, not audio.
Well in that website link I provided and in the "First Glimpse" magazine they give you at the store, page 17, says they offer more than what you said:
Calibration also adjusts the sound levels and positioning of the speakers in a surroundsound setup, so your entire home theater will look and sound as good as it can.

  • Why does apple not care about it's customers? you can't contact itunes when you buy an app that doesn't work or doesn't live up it what is advertised

I'm very frustrated. I bought Text'ndrive2 and it doesn't work but there is no way to contact Itunes. You always have to go throught Apple. There are many apps that do not live up the their adversitment. why doesn't Apple care about their customers?

Apple tests every single app for basic functionality (does it start up?, does it do what the developer says it will do?).  Additionally, each and every app is checked to insure that the app doesn't do bad things (no malware) or use private, unpublished APIs.  If any of these requirements aren't met, the app gets rejected.  That doesn't mean some apps aren't worth paying for but that's up to the marketplace to decide.

  • Is there someone at Verizon that still cares about their customers and will help make this right??

I have spent hours on two phone calls and a chat session regarding a billing discrepancy that is THE FAULT OF VERIZON and still no final resolution.  My bill is due in 3 days and I want this resolved now because I don't want to not pay a bill on time because it won't be corrected in time and then my credit rating will fall due to THE FAULT OF VERIZON.  I have been working on this problem for OVER TWO WEEKS and TWICE have been told that it was all set and that billing was being told to credit my account, yet STILL NO CREDIT HAS HAPPENED.  One rep gave me his email address so that I could follow up with him in case something went wrong with the credit.  I have emailed him and GUESS WHAT?  NO RESPONSE.  I have been a loyal Verizon customer for over 15 years with all bills always PAID ON TIME and THIS IS HOW I GET TREATED??   NOT FAIR.  This is so unlike me to write something like this in a forum, but I have had it after receiving THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.  WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO NOW TO GET HELP?  Is no one at Verizon support HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR VERIZON MISTAKES??  A VERIZON representative listened to what I needed for business travel and they gave me the added feature that they assured me would be what I needed, and apparently it wasn't right. Is it my fault that a Verizon representative does not know the right answers to how their features work and now I am expected to pay OVER $300 EXTRA BECAUSE OF THEIR MISTAKE?  When I take the advice of a Verizon rep I expect they know what they are talking about and that the advice is accurate.  APPARENTLY THIS ISN'T TRUE.
Is there someone at Verizon that still cares about their customers and will help make this right??

After ANOTHER call I may be on track to resolving this.  But WHY did it have to take several calls and chats over a two week period?  WHY did I have to become a mean person to the representative on the phone to finally get this (partially) straightened out?  Why does it need to come to that?  I really don't want to have to get mean and get myself worked up just to get a billing problem straightened out that is VERIZON'S fault.
Verizon, please consider looking into your lack of proper customer support and make corrections.  Even though this may be resolved, After 15 years of being a Verizon customer I will be considering another carrier when my contract runs out and all due to this horrible customer service experience.

  • Best Buy not fixing their glitches and errors

I have been trying to deal with customer service regarding my name being fraudulantly changed on My Best Buy. I used my reward card to purchase an Ipad that I had delivered to my place of employment so that it would not sit unattended at my doorstep all day. Ever since that day, My Best Buy has shown my name as the name of the place that I work. I have had reward certs issued in this other name and duplicate cards issues in this erroneous name.
I have spoken to customer service multiple times and have been given the run around and promises to be contacted within a certain time frame with no contact and no results. I however, did receive and email that Best Buy must protect the privacy of the name that is associated with MY account even though this has been MY account for over FIVE years and this other name was not added/glitched on until the end of March 2014. I have submitted receipts showing purchases both in store and through bestbuy.com that show me using my own name to purchase items and also have email correspondence from Best Buy addressed to the original name on the account.
I had even been advised by a customer service rep to open another Best Buy account which would cause me to lose my Elite Plus status. It feels that I am now being penalized for Best Buy's errors and incompetence.

Good morning ceppes, and welcome to the Best Buy forum,
If the name associated with your My Best Buy™ account somehow randomly changed following a recent purchase, then I can certainly understand why it is you might feel frustrated.  You should not have to create a brand new account, so let me see if there is anything I can possibly do to help.  To further discuss your My Best Buy™ account and ensure it is up-to-date, I am going to send you a private message.  You can check your private messages by clicking on the yellow envelope icon located at the top of the page.

  • My Toshiba L305 - Both Buttons Broken (AGAIN) - TOSHIBA DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS

So my left button broke (i didn't do anything) and so since it was under warranty, I was directed to a local authorized repair shop and they had to order the whole new keyboard that includes the little piece of junk plastic piece underneath the button. They fixed it the same day as I watched them and they did a perfect job. They also showed me the little cheap, litte, junky little piece of plastic that supported both buttons and that broke in my case. We both concluded that of course it would break again. Anyway, time goes by and the inside of the power piece broke off. So we go through the same routine. I go to the repair shop, they fix it and they say its common. In this case they even somehow strenghtened it so it would not happen again! So more time goes by (still under the year warranty as of Dec 21, 2009). Now, both my buttons again no longer work (big suprise). So since it is still under warranty, I call Toshiba but now they are saying they changed the rules since two Mondays ago and that I can no longer take it to that local authorized repair center (even though they rocked) but now I have to send in my laptop to Toshiba's official repair center. Needless to say, i wouldn't get my laptop back for 10 days. I run my business from my laptop so how on earth can I send it in? Anyway, I fought a lot with them on the phone and even got to the 'top' of the customer relations department, a frustrated lady named Mina,  but she says there is nothing else they can do. No loaner, no replacement, can't get my money back, etc. The only thing I can do is send in my work laptop and not have it for 10 days. So what is ironic is I purchased a Toshiba laptop because I heard they were one of the best made computers. I now know that I was GREATLY misinformed. This is the worst situation I have ever seen in a computer business. The good news is that I am in IT and have lots of clients and so now I have the priviledge of telling my clients to run from Toshiba. I write all this for any of you out there who may have the same problem (because I am positive there will be many more since it is a tiny little piece of plastic underneath your buttons). It is clear to me that this is a defect.
My two big problems with this whole thing:
    1. How can anyone expect someone to not have their laptop that they use to run a business for 10 days?
    2. Why even have it fixed it if is just going to brake again?
    3. So because of the 3 defects of this computer, now Toshiba is punishing me further!
If anyone is reading this who is thinking about buying a toshiba laptop, DON'T DO IT. Save yourself a lot of time, frustration and punishment from the company called, 'Toshiba'. Go with a Dell. Go with anything other than Toshiba.  I will say it again: Tosbiba laptops are defective and Toshiba's policies show that they clearly don't care about the customers!

At least Toshiba is covering your repairs under Warranty.  My ex-wife's new HP had one of the touchpad buttons break on her system and they want $400 bucks to fix it claiming that physical damage like that isn't covered.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

  • Creative Cloud - Does Adobe REALLY Care About Customers?

I hope the staff at Adobe are reading these forum posts.
    First question: the following quote
As far as the future of CS applications, in his Adobe MAX keynote, David Wadhwani said, 'We have no plans' to continue perpetual licenses. We are not ruling that out in the future.
Just exactly what is meant by this statement? Is Adobe already looking for a back door if the Create Cloud doesn't pan out? I really would like to know what this means. It sounds ominous and dubious and it sends mixed messages.
As far as the Creative Cloud model goes, is this really a benefit to your customers? I can see it might make Adobe a lot of money (if you don't lose a vast majority of your customer base) but how does it really benefit your customers? Your loyal customers? The customers that made you the rich company that you are today.
Speaking for myself, I do not use all the programs that will be available in the cloud on a regular basis. During the summer when I don't have classes, I don't use some programs at all. But I have to keep paying whether I use them or not. If I stop paying, I will lose access to my software. How is that a good thing for me?  For the majority of your customers? You think because we pay a monthly fee that most people won't equate that we are having to fork over more than $300 a year? In some cases over $600 a year. And it never stops. How is that good for the majority of your customers?
Do I really need to have the latest software constantly? No, I don't. But you are now forcing the issue whether I want it or not. Forcing your customer to do something does not seem like you really care about me.  About us.
What about my students? We have hundreds of students that go through our Adobe software classes each semester. Every student told me they would not go with the Cloud, either because they don't have the money or they were going to protest Adobe's "money grabbing scheme" (one student's actual quote). The students sure don't think Adobe cares about them. If the students stop taking the classes because of the software access, then we start cutting sections. Does Adobe care about that? I'm sure no, but think about those hundreds of students each semester that will no longer be learning to use Adobe software.
Adobe is putting a stranglehold on its customers and the customers are going to say  enough is enough.  Perhaps new software (open source?) will emerge to take the place of Adobe. Perhaps people using InDesign will go back to QuarkXPress. Perhaps enough of these former Adobe customers will force Adobe to check their hubris and greed at the door. But maybe not. The world will move on, one way or another.
One thing I am supremely sure about is Adobe has got it really, really wrong on the Creative Cloud strategy.
BTW, you might want to read the following link entitled Adobe Creative Cloud:  Lopsided Legal Agreement. It is not pretty:
    http://macperformanceguide.com/blog/2013/20130508_1a-Adobe-legal-agreement.html

Nice sentiments, could not agree more.

I hope this occurs across the globe with students ("potential" future Adobe customers) whom may be hindered in their monetary abilities but not in seeing the truth towards what it being placed upon them by Adobe concerning the Cloud mirage. This is a great opportunity for educators to truly educate their students about Adobe.

  • Best Buy is about to and Elite Plus customer

I've been an extremely loyal Best Buy customer for over 20 years.  I've been an Elite rewards member for 6 years, and Elite Plus since the new tier was created.  I've already re-qualified for Elite Plus for next year.  Needless to say, I shop at BBY several times per week.
That may all change unless they can fix this colossal f$#k-up that is placing several of my pre-orders in jeopardy.
Long story short: I've placed 6 orders that consist of video game pre-orders for limited edition versions, which are now fully reserved at all retailers, as well as several other pre-orders for pretty much every A-list release coming in Q4/Q1.  Some of these orders were placed as far back as February, right when the items became available for pre-order.
My BBY credit card was recently updated from the in-store card to the BBY Platinum Mastercard.  The old card--which I used for all of those orders--has now been deactivated.  I've updated my account to include my new card as primary payment, but there is no self-help option to specifically update your payment on existing orders.
I hit a snag when two of my orders that released yesterday went to process, and were denied payment, since they tried to ping the old card.  These orders were then cancelled for invalid payment before I had a chance to respond to the email regarding a payment problem.
I called support today, to see if they could manually update the payment information on my outstanding orders, and we found in a conference call with Citibank support that even though my new card is valid, since the process of updating existing orders doesn't provide a way to enter the CVV code of my new card (since it's not required by .com's systems), when they go to enter the order, it registers as a CVV mismatch and the payment is denied.  After a few tries with one of my orders for a common-stock item, the order hit enough denied payments to be automatically cancelled.
After being on the phone with them for 3 HOURS, I was essentially told that they had no way of fixing this.  The problem is, that when these limited-edition pre-orders hit their release date, they will encounter the same payment error and then be automatically cancelled.  But, if that happens, or if we cancel the existing orders and I attempt to re-order them, THEY WILL BE OUT OF STOCK AND UNAVAILABLE!!  Essentially, unless this error is fixed, I will lose all of my limited-edition pre-orders and since I can't order them anywhere else, I won't be able to replace the order anywhere, unless I shell out a ton of money on the secondary market.
Obviously, I don't find this satisfactory.  I've entrusted Best Buy with thousands of dollars of pre-orders, and because of a stupid glitch in their system, they have now essentially told me that this is an inevitable problem that even their top tier of support cannot correct, and they offered nothing to fix the situation to ensure that I will receive the items that I had ordered several months in advance.
This is absolutely outrageous, and it's the last straw.  If someone from Best Buy is reading this and can help fix the situation before my first LE pre-order of Q4 enters processing on 11/3/14, I would ask that they please contact me.  Otherwise, this screw-up is enough to finally end my two decades of loyalty at Best Buy.
I am very serious about this.  If no solution is found, and my orders continue to get auto-cancelled, I intend to cancel all remaining pre-orders (over 15 pending items), cash out my $500 worth of banked points, then cancel my Best Buy accounts and never set foot in a store or visit them online again.
I know people often make these claims of "never again" to be hyperbolic and blow off steam, but this is not just idle talk or grandstanding.  With Amazon Prime giving me release-day delivery and competitive prices, and 3 GameStops and 2 Apple stores within a 10 mile radius, I could very easily get by without ever giving Best Buy my business again, and I am fully prepared to do so if these orders cannot be rectified.
I would figure that Best Buy would go the extra mile to take care of their most loyal customers.  Heck, with how the customer base has eroded, I would figure they'd bend over backwards for ANY customer.  I can't imagine Best Buy can afford to lose too many more customers like me, but they're about to, unless something gets fixed and fast.
Ball is in your court, Best Buy.

    Good afternoon zsciaeount,
Thank you for being a loyal Elite Plus customer. I am terribly disappointed to read about all the wasted time and frustration you have been through regarding your pre-orders. Updating your credit card information on these orders should not be so difficult, and I am truly very sorry for all the inconvenience and frustration you have encountered.
According to our records, I see you are working with our Executive Resolution team. I encourage you to continue to work with them to get this resolved immediately to avoid any more pre-orders from being impacted. Should you still need my assistance please do not hesitate to let me know. I assure you it is my goal to help our loyal customers in any way I can. I will also be documenting your experience for further review.
Once again, I am truly very sorry for any disappointment this has caused, and I hope we are fortunate to continue to have you as a loyal Best Buy customer.

  • Verizon doesn't care about their customers any longer.

    Dear Verizon,
I need to tell you about two recent experiences I had with Verizon Wireless over the past week.
First of all, I placed an order for in-store pick up at the Maple Grove, MN location on October 30. I went into the store a few times to try to pick it up. I waited for 40 minutes each time, and left because the store was so busy. I couldn’t get help.
When I finally picked it up yesterday afternoon, you were very close to losing me as a customer. Jeremy, the sales guy who helped me, was knowledgeable about the phones. I was upgrading at full retail price due to needing a new phone. Where things went wrong was when he continued to try to tell me about your leasing/Verizon Edge program… I told him I was NOT interested, and he kept pushing and pushing.  This is my money, how I choose to spend it, and he was pushing the program very aggressively. When I threatened to leave, he said he didn’t make any money on the deal, and that it was a better business model for Verizon because you don’t have enough money to invest in your network (?) Really? Is that something you want to advertise to your customers?
So Jeremy backed off, but then the Store Manager started in again with me at the front counter about the program, and I again told him I would gladly walk away from my order and leave. He would not stop either.  Jeremy finally got him to stop, and had I not needed the phone and had a friend with me, I probably would have left. My friend, who is also a Verizon Customer, was just as disgusted as I was with the Sales approach. I think the Maple Grove store is poorly managed, and this was apparent in my sales experiences there this past week, the sales associates’ behavior, and the behavior of the manager himself.
I stopped shopping at Circuit City years ago because the sales reps were pushing their extended warranty with the same aggressive attitude your employees displayed. They are now out of business. I stopped shopping at Best Buy as well. I would gladly stop shopping at Verizon and switch to AT&T or another competitor if you are having such severe problems investing in your network and need to badger your customers.  I really hope that this is not the way you want to treat your customers?
Also note, that I went to into the Delano Shock City Cellular Verizon Dealer on 11/1 and they would not honor the $699 price on the Samsung Note III listed on my order confirmation or the Verizon Website. They were charging $801 and $160 for 32 GB Memory Cards. Pretty Crazy. Again, do you want stores like this representing your business and your brand?
Seriously thinking about canceling all three lines when our contracts are up…You have also removed the contact us feature on your website, so I had to contact you this way... Customer service is evidently a thing of Verizon's past.
    Thanks for listening.

It's not a hidden fee if it is out in the open, the current way means there is no such thing as a free phone.  The G2 may be on sale for $0 with a coupon, but it is actually $30+tax when you checkout.
All of my points are completely valid, you are like the typical large corporation these days telling their customers they are wrong.
    1. Verizon works with LG, Samsung, etc., not Google.  Verizon chose not to support the new Nexus 5 phone because it gets updates directly from Google.  Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile all support the phone.
    2. Verizon advertised quick updates for the Galaxy Nexus when it came out, at one point it took Verizon 6 months to release a new version of Android.  Hardly quick to me.
    3. The HTC One came out MONTHS after it was available for all other carriers in the US.  Then, they charged a full $199 for it even after other carriers had already discounted it, this is a typical Verizon practice.
    4. Verizon is the highest priced carrier, this is a fact.
    5. When LTE was first released I was getting 10-20 mbps down, now I consistently get 1-3 mbps down.  Verizon's LTE, in many areas, is slower than AT&T's HSPA+ 3g service.

  • Why doesn't ATT care about their Customers?

ATT doesn't care about Customers only their money! We deserve to be treated with respect not like we do not matter

I am sorry that you feel that way. Please be specific and tell us what AT&T did to you to make you feel this way. Perhaps we can guide you to the right person or department to help you with your problem.

  • Verizon Doesn't Care About Their Customers!

I have been waiting for7 hours for  Verizon service to show up for installation of my internet service.  When I tried to verify if indeed they were coming, I spent an hour on the phone with their so called Custoner Service Department.  I finally found someone who said that they were scheduled to be at my home today between the hours of 8-5.  The one hour waiting period of trying to find out information is the tip of the iceberg for me with Verizon. There have been so many incidents of just plain old "we are the biggest and we really don't have to care about our customers".   When I tried to find a place to go online and voice a complaint, I could not find a site to go to.  Any help would be appreciated as I am certain that they will not even show up today.  Thank you

  • How often does Best Buy change the value of video game trade-ins?

Last week, I decided I was going to trade in Batman: The Arkham Knight for the XB1, so I went on the Best Buy website to see how much I was going to get for it and it said $35. Cool. So, I checked the website today and it said it was valued at $32. Can anyone explain how values change so frequently? Just trying get an understanding how Best Buy fluctuates trade-in values.

    supply and demand.
Next week it will probably be lower.
And say by chance they get 2000 used Arkham Knight games in it will go down to $5 on a trade in or so.
Best Buy has to try and then resell it.
Right now used copies are going on certain Auction web sites for $39 and less.
The trade in values of games tends to go down pretty fast.  Especially those that were huge sellers.  Lots of them out there.  And lots of people have finished and are looking to unload.

  • Does Best Buy sell any Camcorders that come with wireless remotes?

    Hello,
I have a Sony digital tape camcorder that I am looking to upgrade from, to a flash or hard drive camcorder. It has a wireless remote and I need that feature on any new camcorder I purchase. However, the product descriptions fail to mention whether or not a camcorder has a wireless remote.
So, which flash or hard drive camcorders sold at Best Buy have either (a) a wireless remote, or (b) the ability to be controlled by a universal wireless remote?
Thanks in advance for any information, as it will help determine if I should purchase a camcorder from Best Buy.

    Hi jollystomper,
It seems like there was a time not too many years ago when every camcorder on the market had a wireless remote.  Manufacturers found that they were not widely used, however, and quit making those remotes standard.
I did a quick search for you, and the only camcorder I found with a remote in the box is the Toshiba Camileo X416.
    Check it out below.
Toshiba - Camileo X416 16GB HD Flash Memory Camcorder - Black
    Model: PA3974U1C8K | SKU: 3530538
This camcorder features electronic image stabilization for enhanced clarity and records 1080p HD video to bring images to life. The 3" LCD touch-screen display swivels for an optimal view and allows easy editing.
