Does boot camp run all .exe files?

Im thinking about downloading boot camp on my mac in order to play a game. Does boot camp only run specified programs? Or will it run anything that a windows computer could?

Boot Camp makes it possible to run Windows, but you still need to buy Windows.

Conflict between XP SP3 and Boot Camp 2.1 (exe file)

I have to install a version of XP bought as OEM with a MacBook Pro in late 2008. The Windows install CD is XP WITH SP3, but when I install this, I can't install BootCamp 2.1, because this exe file has to be installed BEFORE an SP3 upgrade. And I can't install the 2.1 when there is no Windows XP on the machine, because this is an exe file. And the BootCamp assistent is version 2.0 after I have upgraded to the latest version of Leopard. If you are only going to use one or two window only programs then I wouldn't waste the space. Try WinonX it allows you to install exe. Files on Mac without installing windows.

Only Apple could hamstring and tie Mac OS to Windows. There isn't any other than whether you can download the drivers into Windows (you can) but Apple puts a block on the installer setup even if your mac does not support it.
Windows 7 needs at least Boot Camp 3.1 and 3.3 is what you should already have. And you are not getting security updates if you don't have at least 10.6.8 as was pointed out. --- you arent using Software Update as you should. And you should backup and clone Mac (and Windows) as well.
You need Mountain Lion to use Boot Camp 5.x which supports Windows 7 & 8 and 64-bit.
I would upgrade to Lion if you can realizing that Rosetta and PowerPC are no longer supported though.

The drivers that you need to install to make your executable work depends on what your executable is doing. To get started, you need to have the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine installed on your target machine (the Win2000 machine you are planning to use) in order to run your executable. Next, you need to determine what drivers your executable uses, if any. For example, if you are using GPIB instrument control, you will need to install the NI-488 drivers on your target machine. If you are performing data acquisition, you will need to install NI-DAQ drivers. If you are doing image acquistion, you will need to install NI-IMAQ drivers.
All these drivers are available for downloading on ni.com. To get the drivers, go to ht

Inventory of ALL exe files in SCCM 2012

We are at the beginning of our SCCM 2012 migration and were asked to start inventorying all EXE files on PCs. We were doing this in SCCM 2007 for all systems and the same data is needed again. Is this recommended? Also what impact can I expect
by enabling this in Software Inventory? I know it can take several hours but didn't know what kind of bandwidth we should expect since new inventory data is sent back up to the database after a 2007 client has been migrated to SCCM 2012.
I tried to deploy a custom Client Setting to a collection with my Test machines to test the Software inventory of all EXE files and the test clients are only running what's in the default Client Settings and not the custom one. I
would like to ultimately only run this on PCs and don't want to enable this in the default settings.
Is Client Settings supposed to behave this way when it comes to software inventory? How do I go about doing this?

No you should not inventor all exe, and no it is never recommend to do this, even in CM07! This process will take a very long time to complete, it will in fact block other process from working will it scanning too. In fact in CM12 the process can take
days! Yes I said days! It takes 4 hours to complete on my SSD HD and I'm only scan 6 files in two directories.

Hi. Does Boot Camp Assistant partition using GUID or MBR? Does it initially format it with FAT32, leave it blank or format it with NTFS for the Windows installer to be able to detect it? How's the Windows installer able to see the Boot Camp partition made by the Assistant? Thank you in advance. Gbu.

Microsoft recommends GPT for 2TB and larger volumes.
MBR can't boot from a volume larger than 1.9TB.
Windows 7 can see GPT just find, but not HFS+, and AppleHFS and MNT are buggy.
Disk Utility can create a drive that uses MBR.
GPT has support for sub-tables and for Master Boot Record.
Apple's implementation of MBR might be on the weak side.
Windows 7 wants to actually have and boot from the 100MB system partition.
Apple, Intel, Microsoft, Sun etc are members of EFI Group and Unified EFI is supported on Windows Vista SP1 64-bit and later 64-bit versions, but Apple's is more proprietary and differs, but is the sole reason really for Apple's excluding and including which Macs are "supported" (which really isn't true) running Windows 64-bit (Vista/7) - that they have to have EFI64 or UEFI 2.x.
The external drive is likely something else, as you could format a drive to GPT and NTFS and have it work fine.
The best way to 'clean' a drive of all partition tables and volumes is with Windows and something like WD Lifeguard or similar tool.
As for hybrid, while some Macs can now boot by default to 64-bit kernel mode, I prefer the "from the ground up" of Windows 7 64-bit which still supports and runs 32-bit apps, but of course mandates 64-bit drivers in places.
Your Apple disks not only have GPT, but have to have other partitions like EFI (128MB) after any HFS partition. GPT does have an MBR - see the Apple tech note #2166.

Does Boot Camp work with Fusion Drive

After having Boot Camp fail this morning while partitioning the drive, and now having to erase and restore my entire hard drive, 500GB worth of crap, I am wondering -- does Boot Camp work with the fusion drive? Adobe reader opening all Exe Files.

I believe I accidently set preferences so that all exe files are opened by adobe reader. Once I uninstalled Adobe reader all .exe files went back to normal. However on re installing Adobe reader all exe files have gone back to opening using adobe reader. When Reader was uninstalled I checked the registry for exe files and was told HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe
should have a default value of exefile, which it does and then checked HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command which must have a default value of "%1" %* which it does. I can not change the registry while adobe reader is installed as the program regedit is an exe. Is there an Adobe register which I must change or another method I can use?

I need to know know if it's possible to run a '.exe' file on an Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X. There's a CD with an application I need to run. Run/Start .Exe file in ColdFusion

Hi guys,
am trying to open up a .exe file like notepad or whatever windows program with using <cfexecute> but seems it doesn't work at all. I'm able to write the command in cmd and run the exe file but when i put the command in cfexecute so i get nothing.
here is the command i would like to run:
