Does Canadian French layout keyboard purchased in Canada good to use?

There is a current sale event in Futureshop and Bestbuy in Canada, but the one is the one on sale is with French-Canadian version. Could anyone share your experience with us that what will be the differences? ie. keyboard issue and bundled software language support?? Thanks a lot

The software of the mac is multilingual and the same no matter where you buy it.  The layout of the French Canadian keyboard will be different than that for US.  To see it go to

  • Keyboard: Canadian French - CSA

I'm using the "Canadian French - CSA" keyboard, but can't figure out how to type certain accents.
The "Keyboard Viewer" shows the basic accents (à, è, é, ô, ù), but not other ones like (ö, œ).
Does anyone know what the complete layout is for the "Canadian French - CSA" keyboard (MacBook OS X 10.4.10)?
    Merci!
    Kim

In the International section of System Preferences, go to Input Menu and at the top of the list, make sure the Keyboard Viewer is turned on. Now, in the input menu, click Show Keyboard Viewer and if you hold down Option, Shift, or both, you can see the characters produced by the other keys (on the U.S. International layout, for instance, with the Keyboard Viewer open, holding Option would result in ß, esszett, appearing on the S key).

  • I have a small aluminium  usb french apple keyboard.  A few of the keys do not match up but I have at least located them and written the correct symbols for these eys. However I have been unable to locate the 'at' symbol 'arobas' in French. Anyone help?

Does anyone know where the 'at' symbol ('arobas' in French)  on the small aluminium usb french keyboard actually is?  I have found most other symbols - not all are where they are meant to be.  This keyboard is plugged into an HP British computer where I have changed the language settings to French.
It is printed on the second top left key but both upper and lower case here are actually the arrow symbols.  As i mentioned not everything is where it should be.  I would be grateful if anyone who knows would pass on this information.

I don't think this could be an Apple French AZERTY keyboard, which looks like
Instead you may have  Canadian French (qwerty) keyboard, which looks like
If so, the Windows French layout @ would be at option/alt plus 0.

  • Orange Key / Window in Application Shortcut - Canadian French CSA

I have two questions, firstly, it seems as though I have turned a key permanently orange. Although I cannot determine whether or not it was this way originally it seems to know be always orange in the Keyboard Viewer. I have the Canadian French - CSA keyboard and the key ¨^` is highlighted orange. Now when I press this key it automatically allows me to put this accent above the appropriate letters/keys. How do I turn this off?
Secondly, the reason I find myself in this position is because I was trying to find the 'move focus to next window in application' shortcut, which is usually ⌘`
This does not work, does anyone know how to do this shortcut on a Canadian French keyboard?
    Thank you

    ¨^`should be highlighted orange.
    The window shortcut is ⌘ + ⌥ + À

  • Canadian French Keyboard Layout

I live in the Quebec Province of Canada and I'm used to a different Keyboard Layout for the "French Canadian" Layout.
When setting up my computer the only choice I have is "Canadian French CSA" with correspond to the "Canadian Multilingual" Layout (see: en.wikipedia.org /wiki/File:KBCanadian_MultilingualStandard.svg)
    I can't find anywhere a real French Canadian Keyboard (see: en.wikipedia.org /wiki/File:KBCanadianFrench.svg)
Anyone have an idea how I can fix that issue? Is there a place where I can download additional Keyboard Layouts or something?
    Thanks

  • Unable to set Canadian French CSA layout for external keyboard when language set to English

I use both French and English on my iPad. I now have an external keyboard, with French Canadian CSA layout. However, the Canadian French CSA layout for the hardware (external) keyboard is not available when using English as an input language. Many other layouts are available (e.g., US, Spanish ISO, etc.), but not this one. French Canadian CSA layout is available with French as the input language.
How can I add Canadian French CSA hardware keyboard layout when using English as the input language?

It's not possible for users to add keyboard layouts to any iOS device.  All you can do is ask Apple to add it in a future update:

  • French USB keyboard for writing email??

I was wondering how i could get a usb french (or french-canadian) keyboard for my macbook. I often write emails to people in france, but i hate using the keyboard.
I tried to go to the canadian us store to buy the keyboard, but then when i tried to order it, it said it could only be shipped anywhere within canada.
Is there any way i can get a french keyboard in the us??

    Canadian-French, Canadian-English. Yeah
If u live in canada i think apple gives u a choice.
France-French and Canadian-French have keys like AZ and QW in different places. You might want to make sure you get the one you are used to.
I just need all the accent keys.
Of course you can make all the accents on the standard US layout as well, via Option/alt key shortcuts (e.g. é is made by Option/Alt + e, then e). Or you can install a US International layout.

  • BB minikeyboard and Canadian French

I am unable to type in French using querty version of mini case with keyboard. Only the screen keyboard seems to support typing in French.
I tried a French layout Microsoft bluetooth but it acted like an English keyboard. Was hoping BB keyboard would work but no luck.
Anyone know of a solution for Canadians typing in French with bluetooth?

    give you some  more infomation.
ASCII character can be stored in SQL Server as varchar or char data type which will take one storage byte per character.
You can store non ASCII characters using either
    a) creating a column of character data type (either varchar or char) with appropriate collation for e.g. if you create column with Arabic collation you can store arabic character in varchar columns and it still takes only one
    byte per character.
    B) or You specify your column with data type nvarchar or nchar where N stands for national character and it will allow you to store any character/language that unicode supports. This however increase storage overhead as each character will take
    two bytes.
    >>> Just wondering how/where i can specify the unicode piece?
    create table t1
    keycol int identity(1,1) primary key,
    data nvarchar(30) NOT NULL
By specifying column with data type of nvarchar or nchar

  • Brand New MacB Air and i haven't been able to get passed the format which has had to be done twice because, I have a French Numeric Keyboard and Language in English.  The minute I type in my password, the keyboard gives me letters that i did NOT type.

I live in Switzerland and can only buy a Mac Air with a French or German keyboard, no chance to buy an English keyboard Mac here,.  When setting up  I chose the French numerique keyboard, although there are two choices French or French numerique.  I put in my language as English.  When all was set up I came to the start page and had to put in my password, by the grace of g....I just happened to see the first letter I typed before it turned into a dot.  My password which was supposed to start with the number 2 showed a french e with accent before it quikly became a dot.
Because of the dot system, this meant that I had no clue what the keyboard was typing as my password ...........and true enough my password was not accepted despite my trying all combinations.  I have had to reformat twice now thanks to Apple Chat and both times my password was not accepted.  I am in the process of formatting it again, this time on my own.  If the Start page does not accept my password again this can only mean that the Mac left the factory with faults.  I could not be more disappointed with the money spent and the time and trouble that Apple Chat and I have spent in trying to correct a brand new out of the box Mac.  I have a cheap Toshiba laptop also with a french keyboard and english language which gave me no trouble at all.  I am not impressed with the so called King of computers!  First of all the dot system is daft.  People want to be able to see and confirm their passwords before they are set for good.  Second,  this problem is going to give me a lot of grief.  Switzerland business is not renowned for its after sales service or the time it takes to do repairs.  When I had an issue with my Vaio laptop which was still under warranty, they kindly picked it up from my house, repaired and promptly returned it.  How's that for good proper service.

i didn't read a lot of your 2nd paragraph, but it seems like the password is the issue, right?
    do a true clean install
reboot your machine and hold down command+option+r, you should see a spinning globe - if you don't see the globe or anything that reads internet recovery, shut down and try again
at menu, chose disk utility and once there, find your HD on the left side, select the physical name and erase it as mac journaled
    exit disk utlity
    at menu, choose install OSX
this time, when it asks for a password just hit continue, it will let you complete without a password
you should be able to get into your laptop, now figure out what password you'll be able to use with your kb issue

  • Why does FireFox change layout/settings during upgrades without asking ?

Just upgraded to Firefox 18 (windows 7 desktop). Why does Firefox change layouts/settings without asking the user if he wants it or not???
I am getting sick of those changes. I want to have at the google main page the options (as before) to search in all languages, or pages from a certain language or pages in a certain language (of course depening of the google address; f.i. at google.de for german languages, google.fr for french languages etc).
In the latest Firefox 17 it was working as I wanted and described before: when I visited www.google.de/firefox of www.google.fr/firefox. Now those 3 options (under the search bar) are gone and I do not want to operate by clicking on the advanced search button. Those things should be visible under the search bar again.
Also my STARTPAGE was GONE/DELETED after the update !!! Grrrrr.... Updating is OK but mozilla should not change user configured items !!!!!!!
The above described problem has nothing to do with the google website.

By the way, do Firefox and IE use the same proxy settings? You can view Firefox's here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > "Network" mini-tab > "Settings" button
The default is "Use system proxy settings".

  • HT1863 Can I get my iphone 4s replaced for broken glass in India purchased in canada

I have damaged my front glass of iphone 4S purchased in canada.
But want to either replace or repair in india. Is there any options
available having normal limited warranty during time of purchase
    valid till Nov 22, 2012.

The warranty does not include accidental damage. Even if it did, it is not an international warranty, and the phone would have to be returned to Canada.  Canada will not deal with addresses or credit cards outside Canada.
Get it repaired by a third party, or buy a new one. In india.
