  • Installing NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 problem

I have QU297AA#ABG h8- 1130a as bought from retail and planned to do some upgrades. I purchased the NVidia GeForce GTX 780 Graphics Card and was told I would also need a 600W or better power supply, so I also purchased a 750W one. I have installed everything correctly (to my knowledge) and when I try to boot up the PC, it reaches the welcome screen which is blue and with the HP logo asking me to "press escape for startup menu". That does not work and the PC then beeps 4 times with long pauses in between before changing to a black screen at which I have to hard shut down the PC.
I know that the power supply is fine becuase when I saw back to the graphics factory card, it is fine. I have read a lot of support FAQs and they have told me to update the BIOS and to uninstall my old graphics driver. I have done both and the problem still persists. I have upgraded my BIOS from AMI 7.09 22/7/2011 to AMI 7.12 12/10/2011 which was the latest available.
According to the EVGA manual, the beeping sounds are from one of the following:
    1. The card is not seated properly (unlikely).
    2. There is a problem with the motherboard's graphic card slot (impossible, as the other one works).
    3. Supplemental PCI-E power is not connected to the graphics card (it most definetely is).
    4. Graphics card problem (unlikely, it is brand new).
It then says the problem is probably with the motherboard and to contact you.
I hope this has been enough information but I would like to know all of my options.

I will take a look at the specs on your MOBO o see which PCIe spec the slot is. The specs don't state the version. I will have to ask an HP internal source. It may take a day for me to get back to you, but as soon as I know, you will as well.

  • Will the Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 work for prem pro?

  • Is "Asus Strix GeForce GTX 970 OC DirectCU II 4Gb" Compatible with Adobe sotfware?

    Hi!
I´ve been thinking about buying a new Graphic Card "Asus Strix GeForce GTX 970 OC DirectCU II 4Gb", but when i went to see the requirements for Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop, that card is not recommended.
If i buy that graphic card, will it still work fine as the other cards or will it only work with that type of cards that are in the list?

It will work without any problems and is a top choice.

  • Can a Packard Bell Aspire M3802/M5802 support a nVidia GeForce GTX 750?

Hi. I have a  Packard Bell Aspire M3802/M5802. It has an Acer motherboard (G43T-AM), 8gb ram (ddr2, 800mHz), an Intel CPU (Q8300 quad core 2,5GHz @2,5GHz, don't remember the clock). So my question is: can this PC handle a nVidia GeForce GTX 750?

    Black_Bullet,
The GeForce GTX 750 uses PCI Express 3.0, the AM-3802 and AM-5802 both have PCI Express 2.0; but it should work since the PCI Express slots are backwards compatible. The only issue I can see would be that the BIOS would not support the card itself.
From what I can tell we only received one BIOS so I would reccomend you get a video card with legacy mode/switch or rom option. The MSI GTX-750 Ti has dual BIOS so you can do EFI/LEGACY, http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Computer-Corp-N750TI-2GD5/dp/B00I6DLIB8, if that helps.

  • Compatibility of Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 Ti for Premiere Pro

    Hi,
I am upgrading my workstation and plan to buy a good quality graphic card which will support smooth editing of 1080p footage and some after effects rendering.
I chose GTX 780 Ti but unfortunately in the compatibility list provided by Adobe, only GTX 780 is supported. So if GTX 780 Ti is used, can I use the Mercury Playback Engine and take full advantage of the graphic card?
Also is my select correct? I was at first confused selecting between Nvidia  Quadro K4200 and GTX 780 Ti. I will not be using Maya or 3D Max. Only Premiere Pro, After Effects and sometimes Da Vinci Resolve will be used.
    Thanks,
    Srijit

Yeah, it works great as mentioned in the table with recommended video cards, if you have at least:
An overclocked I7 6+ core CPU, or Dual E5 6+ core CPU's, and
    64+ GB RAM, and
800+ MB/s transfer rates on all volumes.
Otherwise it is overkill and the card will be idle most of the time. See Tweakers Page - Exporting Style

  • Any news RE: support for NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB GDDR5?

  • GeForce GTX 780 and Premiere CC 2014 footage issues on Win 8.1

    Hey everyone
I just bought a PC media workstation, having been a Mac guy for 15 years.  As I was installing apps, AU, AE, Cinema4D all worked as expected. But PR literally would chug when playing back almost any footage (in this case mostly my ProRes422HQ from my BMPC). The playhead moved, I heard audio but the picture never changed.  Even the low-quality h264 proxy footage I tested performed like this.
Interestingly, whether I was enabling GPU based editing in Premiere or not, it had no effect whatsoever.
I talked w/ the guys at Mediaworkstations.net and we narrowed it down to what we think is an issue between of graphics card support from Adobe.  I even retro-installed CC and CS6 and both had the same results.  Was hoping someone from Adobe would speak into this and offer some help.

Hi John, thank you for the reply!  Argh, can't believe I forgot to post that info...  Here's the specs, and I did go download Nvidia's installer for the driver so hopefully it is all well.

  • S10 and Nvidia GeForce GTX 280

    Hi
I just bought a S10 model 6423-45G and a Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 280. The problem is that the powersurply only comes with 2 x 6 PIN power connectors for the graficcard but this new graficcard needs 1 x 6 PIN and 1 x 8 PIN power connector. Is there any S10 models on the market with 1 x 6 PIN and 1 x 8 PIN power connectors at this point in time or is the only solution to put in some power convert to support this graficcard?

  • Keine CUDA Beschleunigung mit GeForce GTX 780 Ti [MSI N780Ti (MS-V298)] ?

    Hallo Forum,

  • Reg: Upgrading my graphics card to NVIDIA geforce GTX 760/780

    Hi,
I am working with a Dell Precision work station 690 which currently uses a NVIDIA QUADRO FX 3450.. I want to upgrade this to a high end graphics card mostly NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760/780.. However , when I read the Specs for Dell Precision work station 690, it is mentioned that is support memory only till 512.. Are high end graphics card compatible with my PC? Will there be any power issues? I have an extra 6 pin cord from PSU on my PC.
    --Thanks ,
    Rama

Check if your chosen video card requires UEFI.
The GeForce GTX 960 failed in my Precision 690.
Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit would not boot with this card.
I believe the issue is that this card requires a motherboard with UEFI which the 690 does not have.
Other posts report that the GeForce 750 Ti fails also because of lack of UEFI.
I found this site on Dell which says that the Radeon R9 280X will work in a 690:
     http://accessories.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&sku=a7272920
Note in the above URL  the requirement for a 1000W power supply. Some video cards require two (2) 6-pin or one (1) 6-pin and one (1) 8-pin connector from the power supply.
    Hope this helps.

  • NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 980 supported by Adobe CC?

    Hey Adobe,
    Quick question: I'm upgrading my PC and need to know;
Is the NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 980 Graphics card (GPU) supported by Adobe CC?
Specifically premier Pro / After effects / Photoshop and Audition.
It's not on your list of supported cards page...
    Thanks!

The GTX 980 works well with:
"Specifically premier Pro / After effects / Photoshop and Audition"
The only GPU acceleration worth talking about is Premiere Pro, and yes it does that fine.

  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M supported by CUDA?

I'm interested in purchasing an iMac to run Premiere CC
    There are two card choices:
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M
I'm having trouble verifying exactly which of these is supported and the best for editing.
    Thanks for the help!

  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX GPU support for the Mac

When are you going to support GPU for the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX on the Mac in the new After Effects CC?
Please also consider this a request as well.

    > When do you think us ATi Radeon card users will get a versionof AE that will use our GPU
After Effects already uses ATI/AMD cards for GPU features, and has for years. The single exception is one feature: the GPU acceleration for the ray-traced 3D renderer.

  • Photoshop CS5 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 Crash

    My specifications:
    Photoshop CS5 (x64)
    Windows 7 x64
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 (latest v197.45 driver)
    Intel i7 920 2.67 GHz
My card is listed as a tested card for CS5 and NVIDIA says this is compatible with CS5, but today after using it, my screen went blank and the display driver recovered itself. It took about 5 minutes until Photoshop CS5 became responsive again and the GPU features were disabled. I am going to try GPU advanced mode and basic mode instead of normal mode to see what happens, but this is a shame that I have issues like this. I also had issues with CS4 like this.
What I did to cause this issue: I clicked" Place.." to place an object and that is when it crashed. It only happens randomly as I use Photoshop. Please NVIDIA or Adobe fix this issue. I love the GPU features and I want to run them, but this crashing is annoying for spending so much on buying this product. I hate to have to pay to contact Adobe technical support, it should be included with the purchase of software!
How to fix this without having to go to basic GPU mode or disabled GPU mode?

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

With my own problems and a keen observer of this thread it making me think that I should stay away from Nvidia cards cards completed and go ATI
It comes down to policies within companies that in some cases we simply cannot know.
    For example:
Does nVidia or ATI have a better plan to support cards with new drivers into the future?  My experience is that right now, with my particular video card, ATI does a better job of making new features available (and making them work right) than nVidia.  Is this based on support policy or simply what the engineers can and can't do?  Maybe it's partially a matter of funding.
Who has a better handle on how to develop unified software and keep it working on all a whole family of cards?  What is their software quality?  I am active on Windows forums, and it sure seemed to take nVidia a lot longer to stabilize their drivers for Windows 7 than ATI.
Who has a better test lab?  You can imagine that if one company has a better built/funded/maintained test lab, they're more likely to make new versions of drivers for old cards work properly if they have a computer set aside somewhere with that old card in it just waiting to try out new drivers.  Unfortunately you can imagine with these companies making many, many new models all the time that funding that lab (and funding the MAINTENANCE of that lab) could get to be HUGE!
Lastly, how much do Marketing or other greedy business people influence company direction, vs. Engineers?  Imagine a Marketing person's thoughts:  "Stop making new drivers for that old card; we're not selling those and haven't for a long time.  If a person has one and can't run the latest game or graphics software, he'll go buy a new one, and that's more money for us."
By the way, just to get an idea of how many different cards we're talking about, look at the sheer number of models listed in the various lists on this page:  http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/
    Just food for thought.
