A little more information maybe helpful. Are you saying you have upgraded from a OS to Windows XP and it caused problems with your application, or are you asking if there will be any problems if you upgrade? What OS were you upgrading from? LabVIEW 6.1 is the first issue of LabVIEW that was supported under Windows XP, so there should not be any issues there. In my experience, doing upgrades from one Windows version to another is never a smooth transition. If you are using any hardware I would advise that you uninstall the drivers and remove the hardware before the upgrade. I might go as far as removing existing National Instruments (such as LabVIEW) before you upgrade and then reinstall the software and hardware after you have upgraded. This will be the be
st way of ensureing you have as little problems as possible after you upgrade.

ITunes 7.0.1 does not install--Windows Installer Package Problem
I am trying to upgrade from iTunes 6 to the newest version. I downloaded setup and ran it, and it got a bit through installing iTunes before it said, "There is a problem with the Windows Installer Package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
I have never had problems installing other programs using Windows Installer. I also never had problems upgrading iTunes until now. There is no info on this specific issue anywhere in the Apple website or on the internet, that I have found. I purchased a new notebook with Windows 7 in October. During the first weeks I uninstalled McAfee and replaced the harddrive. Since November Windows Update fails with error messages and defender does not start anymore. I made several virus scans (complete) with multiple antivirus programs but nothing showed up.
Since it took my days to install various software, I do not want to re-install W7. I also have no good backup that I could restore.
I am really surprised that there is not even a single entry regarding the error code in the Microsoft Knowledge base or elsewhere.

For me, I hit all the symptoms everyone else hit and thanks to humphrey for his find. I just wish Microsoft/Intel would get together and fix this Windows 7 issue between SW/HW; Large Drive Sizes, Licensing/Permissions, Flash Memory, ATA vs. ACHI, BIOS, etc.
There's been an incredible amount of loss productivity, resources, and costs incurred on this one ISSUE by everyone involved.

I just upgraded to FF7 & now when I open it none of my history or cookies are saved. I have checked in options that Firefox will remember my history and all relevant settings but it is not doing it. Is there a problem with FF7?

Trying to download itunes onto PC installed with windows vista. Download keeps getting to 99% with 1 second remaining and then freezes / does nothing? Any help appreciated.
I solved the problem! The updates orignally were downloaded to the C: drive of the server. I've since moved them to the E: drive and for some reason the Content folder in IIS didn't change the file path to the new WSUScontent folder.
The root cause for this was failing to use the UTILITY designed for this very purpose.
I edited the virtual directory settings in IIS and was able to put the correct path in.
You still need to use the UTILITY.. to fix all the other stuff you're still missing.
In the %ProgramFiles%\Update Services\Tools folder...
WSUSUTIL MOVECONTENT E:\WSUS E:\WSUS\MoveContent.LOG -SKIPCOPY

Windows 8.1 problems with my enterprise user
Hi all,
I have two problems that I need help with. For background information, I am in an IT-support enterprise and I am a support person for a client.
Since I am developing and maintaining an application for this client that is to be used inside the enterprise I work for, I need unrestricted network access and administrative privileges.
I asked my level 2 IT people to install on my machine Windows 8.1 to have Visual Studio 2015 (really loving the preview).
The problem:
1) My account and my machine have unrestricted network and have no proxy enabled, meaning that I should be able to reach any site on the internet. Somewhy, though, my pc is unable to do the Windows Activation with a valid serial, telling me that the server
is unreachable. Is there any other way to activate my pc?
2) My account is in basically all the administrator roles that are on my enterprise for testing, amongst others: administrator on my particular machine and Domain Administrator. Even when the AD is configured with those roles and my pc was installed with
a normal image, I have NO administrative access, I have the most basic privileges a user can have in this enterprise.
I am somehow able to enter Computer Management and change ALL the roles I want for anyone, I can even reset passwords for local users, but my personal user does not want to give me, for example, the command prompt. Could you please explain why and/or help

2) Regarding to the account, I suggest you check the account properties under "AD users and computers", check what group the account belongs to. or run whoami command with the /groups option to find more information about the user

At the end of your post, you mentioned the command prompt, may I know what is the issue with command prompt? Please check if there're some GPO applied which restrict some user operations.

with Windows 8.1 and IE 11 it is not possible to access the profil page on partner.microsoft.com.
It tells me to use Internet Explorer ;-)

Implies that a site is doing browser sniffing looking for MSIE in a request's User-Agent string. In standard mode IE11 just shows Mozilla/5.0 (for HTML 5.0 support). Use the Developer Tools Console tab
to see this. E.g. enter navigator.userAgent Use the Developer Tools Emulation tab to change it to something your problem site would recognize better, such as IE8.

I updated iTunes to 10.4 version and now it doesn't start and send a messages "iTunes has detected an error and must be closed". Someone have the same problem and how can we repair our installation insted of change the windows XP installation? Best regards
Only way to get iMac starting again was to re-install 10.4.4 from DVD, and then update it into 10.4.6. For a while it worked perfectly, just as before.
Then I tried to print to CD with my EPSON Stylus Photo 950 from Adobe Photoshop Elements (2.0). It didn't print anything, but printer started flashing all lights. The print job was not performed, so I did remove it from the Printer Utility. After that the iMac started "ticking" again, same noise than before, after 10.4.7 installation. I did re-boot iMac. It never started, it does stuck on gray screen (gray block running clockwise). HW test from DVD didn't find any problems (extended search looping 3 times). But Disk Utility found hard drive to have inaccurate node structure, it could not fix it.
Apple support recommended to use DiskWarrior. However, it does not support (yet) Intel Macs. I haven't got TechTool Pro 4.5.1 anywhere. iMac does start on to FireWire mode (T at boot), but I cannot see the disk from 10.2.8 iMac.
So, obvisously the problem is not 10.4.7. I believe it to be ESPON printer driver compatibility on Mac OSX. This does not suprise me, EPSON printers *****, I shall never purchase one again. However, disk catalog structure should not get messed by one faulty printer driver! -
I have lightroom 5 with 5.7 verson updated. I use windows. My problem is with the spot healer or remover in the develop. It worked perfectly for a while and then suddenly the other circle with a line attached to it where you can move it to a better spot stopped showing up. I uninstalled the software and re installed it again but it didn't fix the problem and its still the same. Help please.

Does it appear in My Computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Compare with the iPod that does work/connect.
I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1

I recieved my iPhone 5 3 weeks ago and the battery life completely *****! After doing a few things and maybe using it for about 30 minutes the phone start overheating like crazy then the battery starts dropping very fast. Does anyone know if it's a problem with the iOS or with my phone? And is anyone else expierenceing these problems?
It sounds like you have an app that is incorrectly continuously using data and power... from normal use the phone should NOT be getting that warm... only constant video playing via data like Netflix for example would result in that...
I'd say that you should remove all apps in the recent app tray... tunr phone off... then once you power back on...
Hold BOTH home and sleep wake buttons together until you see a white apple symbol... then release both buttons...
This will ensure you have no apps running...
I've experienced a hang up with mail while out and about that has resulted in this on my iPhone as well... Once I performed these steps it was fixed... it seemed like it got stuck and that's what caused the warm phone and battery drain...
I notived that when it gets stuck (mail app that is) I will see the text connecting at the bottom and it never changes to "updated" like it should... this is my trigger that it's gotten stuck.
Have not really figured out what causes mail app to get stuck yet... -

Actually, you're not. That's not an accurate description of any of the Canon 5D models.
There are EOS 5D, EOS 5D Mark II, and EOS 5D Mark III models. Which do you have, specifically? Details will matter for this.
If you have a 5D Mark III (three) it's too new and you will not be able to directly open files with Photoshop CS4. You'll either need a newer version of Photoshop or to use the free DNG converter.

ISight - connects with windows users no problem?
I'd like to buy this webcam, but I heard it has problems connecting with windows users. Will I be able to talk to people on it through AIM? Thats what I'd like, if not, I probably wont get it. Anyone have any personal experience or have any answers or helpful tips - I'd appreciate anything - thanks.
It is not the iSight itself that gives you the impression that connecting with Micros~1 Windows users causes problems ... it is the availability of (cross platform) applications that makes connecting a bit more cumbersome.
I have PowerMac G5 with iSight and I connect with my Micros~1 Windows platform family equiped with and without USB webcam.
The challenge will be to find messaging / VoiP applications with bearable audio quality and reasonable video performance.
I started with Skype for Voice and Yahoo! messenger for bad video ( 1-2 fps and video size 320 x 240).
Skype has a video plugin (only for Windows)
Yahoo! Messenger does not have voice yet (2.5.3)
MSN is badmouthing because of the "M"
I have used iChat with another Apple believer ... and the quality of Voice and Video is unparralled.
The best two alternatives I found are:
a) AIM 5.9
b) Trillian (www.trillian.cc)
Both use a free AIM screen name.
AIM works fine, see also EZJim pages.
TrillianPro 3.1 reuses AIM screen names ... and ... it has both good audio and zoom-to-full-screen-video size with fps rates filling your bandwidth.
The only negative on Trillian so far, the "handshake" for connecting two people takes some time.
TrillianBase is free but has no Video capabilities. The Pro version is 25$.

It appear that your solution works in SQL because the semantics of SQL are such that it causes a 'copy' of the XMLType to take place before running the isSchemaValid() processing, were we to optimize away that copy as a result of a patch or performance optimization project then you solution would break...
If you want the output in a particular character set you should force that using XMLSerialize or getBlobVal(charsetid). Unfortunately we don't have a convience method for writing BLOBS on DBMS_XSLPROCESSOR... -
Since I have changed from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1, I have not been able to start up Photoshop Elements 9! or Premiere Elements 9! The menu starts up alright, but the programs don't start when I press any buttons. How do I fix this problem?
If Layers is greyed out it possibly means that you are in Quick Mode. Select 'Expert' and all the options should become available.
Try permanently associating psd files with C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 12\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe and see if that fixes the issue. Instructions here - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-8/choose-programs-windows-uses-default.

Using windows on a mac, I have changed from a wireless key pad to a USB keypad with numberkeys. But the number are not working.
Every thing works fine on the keyboard is IOS. But in windows the munber keys are not.
