Does Cisco 2900 series support any HWIC-AP module?
Hi Everybody:
I would like to deploy a Cisco 2911 router with a built in AP feature. I found that there are some HWIC-AP modules but they are only supported by ISGR1 series router. Is there any option to do this for ISGR2 routers?
Thanks!!
Do you have a computer plugged into the back of the phone? I assume so ... but figured I would ask. If not, then simply placing the port into the correct vlan is all that is needed.
Any chance you would consider our SPA500 series phones instead? As these phones support CDP for vlan and poe assignments. Humm ... I know this is not exactly the answer you are looking for, but with the ESW series switches, we are a bit limited.
If the computers plug into the phones, can you have the computers and phones on the same vlans? The default QoS config settings given more preference to higher DSCP values.

Andrew

Does Cisco Prime Infrastructure supports monitoring CPU,Memory, HDD for UCS , VMWare?
Prime Infrastructure/ Assurance is positioned today more towards managing network elements and network performance, rather than server infrastructure. We are in the process of adding Datacenter component support, with more focus on Nexus and UCS- due later this year.
Having said that, Prime Infrastructure allows the system user to add custom SNMP polling templates, which can then be used for polling any SNMP based values from any SNMP enabled device. These can be used to collect the information you specified below and the polled information will be available in dashboards and reports. -

Does Cisco Prime have support for HP Access Points?
I am trying to sell a solution to a client with dozens of large warehouses with a large existing HP wireless solution. I want to sell them on a Cisco wireless solution involving Prime to manage/monitor their current HP Access Points while we do a phased replacement to Cisco WLC and APs.
I cannot find listed in the documentation whether Cisco Prime has support for the HP access points though. I see it has 'some' support listed for some Aruba controllers, but not anything else.I am trying to sell a solution to a client with dozens of large warehouses with a large existing HP wireless solution. Prime will only support products with a "Cisco" logo.
Note: Prime 2.2 will start supporting Meraki product. -
Hi Cisco experts,
My name is Kumagai and I need your expert opinions below.
I am trying to configure one VLAN1 support multiple network segments as below.
(this should be a very straight forward configuration and should be OK, I think ? )
interface Vlan1
ip address 172.30.0.0 255.255.128.0
ip address 172.30.31.253 255.255.254.0 secondary
ip address 172.30.61.253 255.255.254.0 secondary
ip address 172.30.71.253 255.255.254.0 secondary
ip address 172.30.4.253 255.255.255.0 secondary
The only issue that is eating me is the above network segments are using HSRP too
and I am not sure is this possible with a combination of VLAN1 supporting multiples which are
further supported with HSRP settings in Cisco environment.
!example of HSRP:
interface Vlan4
ip address 172.30.4.253 255.255.255.0
no ip redirects
standby 4 ip 172.30.4.254
standby 4 priority 105
standby 4 preempt
<<< what will happen if I add the HSRP configuration as below into the above VLAN1 with multiple Network segment ??)
I would like to summarize my "Combined" configurations as below but I need your expert opinions on
whether the configuration below is workable without any problem ??
Or it is a total flop because Cisco does not support the configuration below !!!
interface Vlan1
ip address 172.30.0.0 255.255.128.0
ip address 172.30.31.253 255.255.254.0 secondary
ip address 172.30.61.253 255.255.254.0 secondary
ip address 172.30.71.253 255.255.254.0 secondary
ip address 172.30.4.253 255.255.255.0 secondary
standby 30 ip 172.30.31.254
standby 30 priority 105
standby 30 preempt
standby 60 ip 172.30.61.254
standby 60 priority 105
standby 60 preempt
standby 70 ip 172.30.71.254
standby 70 priority 105
standby 70 preempt
standby 4 ip 172.30.4.254
standby 4 priority 105
standby 4 preempt
Thanking you in advance !!!!!Hi,
As far as i know we dont set the ip helper address on the radio interface. It should be on the L3 interface of corresposding VLANs i.e.
int vlan 20
ip helper-address 192.168.33.xxx
int vlan 60
ip helper-address 130.20.1.xxx
I'm assuming that your using SVI's (int Vlan 20 and int Vlan 60) rahter than physical interfaces. Also hope you have configured switch port as trunk where this AP is connected.
Modify the AP config as below since you are using data vlan as the native vlan
interface Dot11Radio0.20
encapsulation dot1Q 20 native
interface FastEthernet0.20
encapsulation dot1Q 20 native
Ideally your AP fastethernet configuration should looks like below and not sure how you missed this as this comes by default when you have multiple vlans for multiple ssids.
interface FastEthernet0.20
encapsulation dot1Q 20 native
no ip route-cache
bridge-group 20
no bridge-group 20 source-learning
bridge-group 20 spanning-disabled
interface FastEthernet0.60
encapsulation dot1Q 60
no ip route-cache
bridge-group 60
no bridge-group 60 source-learning
bridge-group 60 spanning-disabled
Hope this helps.

Does Cisco Unity 8x support Inband DTMF:
I am sending calls over a SIP Trunk to Unity and using Inband DTMF. Unity doesn't recognize the tones being sent if we use Inband. If we use RFC2833 it works fine. I would use RFC2833 for all but it causes more issues for certain SIP endpoints, so we use both in our environment. Does anyone know if Unity supports true Inband DTMF.
Thanks in advance.SIP DTMF Digit Transport
Cisco Unity supports DTMF Relay in accordance with RFC 2833. The DTMF Relay is based on the transmission of Named Telephony Events (NTE) over the RTP stream. The default RTP payload used for transmission of DTMF is 101. Cisco Unity treats any incoming RTP payload above 90 as a DTMF event.
DTMF Digit Transport Type Supported?
RFC 2833
Yes
In-band tones
No

Does Cisco 3845 with NM-16A/S support OIR feature or Hot swap for this NM.
Dear Sir
My customer would like to implement Cisco 3845 with NM-16A/S x 4. I found that Cisco 3845 support OIR function but I am not sure OIR function that Cisco 3845 support, it support with which NM models. Can anyone tell me that NM-16A/S on Cisco 3845 support OIR function on this NM or not.
Thank you very much
WisitHi,
From what I have read from the following document.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps5855/products_installation_guide_chapter09186a00802ccf1d.html
Network Modules
Network modules install directly into slots in the rear of the router. The Cisco 3845 router supports online insertion and removal (OIR, or hot swap) of network modules. The Cisco 3825 router does not support OIR.
Caution The Cisco 3845 router supports OIR with similar modules only. If you remove a network module, along with any installed WAN or voice interface cards, install another module and card combination exactly like it.
Interface Cards
Cisco 3800 series routers do not support OIR (hot swap) of interface cards inserted directly into router slots. You must turn off the router before installing or removing an interface card.
The Cisco 3825 router and the Cisco 3845 router each provide four interface card slots, labeled on the rear panel by HWIC and a number. Each slot can be occupied by one single-wide WIC, VIC, VWIC, or HWIC.
Hope this helps

Hi,
I have CISCO 2900 series router which i use it in our ISP setup. The router has more than 250 static NAT configured on and a about 70 routes. The problem is, every after a while a random NAT disappers from the router. In show run one NAT goes missing. If i added the NAT i get a message that the NAT already exist. So i have to remove the NAT and then add it again for it to appear again but nowadays i just clear the NAT translation (clear IP NAT translation *) and it apppears.
Any ideas on what could be the problem here?
Thanks,
AbbasThanks for the suggestion Elton.
Unfortunately, I believe the LAN ports on this router are layer 2 only, thus they will not take `ip nat` configuration:
Router1(config-if)#ip nat enable
^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
Router1(config-if)#ip ?
Interface IP configuration subcommands:
address Set the IP address of an interface
admission Apply Network Admission Control
auth-proxy Apply authentication proxy
ddns Configure dynamic DNS
device IP device tracking
dhcp Configure DHCP parameters for this interface
igmp IGMP interface commands
rsvp RSVP Interface Commands
vrf VPN Routing/Forwarding parameters on the interface
Here's the result of `show IP NAT translations` as requested:
Router1#show ip nat translations | include ---
tcp 188.222.181.173:25 192.168.1.2:25 --- ---
tcp 188.222.181.173:80 192.168.1.2:80 --- ---
tcp 188.222.181.173:143 192.168.1.2:143 --- ---
tcp 188.222.181.173:443 192.168.1.2:443 --- ---
tcp 188.222.181.173:587 192.168.1.2:587 --- ---
tcp 188.222.181.173:993 192.168.1.2:993 --- ---
tcp 188.222.181.173:1723 192.168.1.2:1723 --- ---
Router1#
As the rules are setup as NVI type rules, they should not be showing up in the command above, instead they should show up in return to the following command:
Router1#show ip nat nvi translations
Router1#
Any ideas why this would happen? -

Does Cisco NAC Support Continuous Posture Assessment ?
Hi all,
Cisco does not seem to support continuous posture assessment when running out of band or in band ? What I mean is after authentication during authorization phase I ve been assigned to a role and according to that role I receive a posture result, if that posture result is pass then Ive been evaluated as a healthy end point and receive a Certificate. Then the switchport that I am connected to gets assigned to the corporate VLAN. Afterwards till my certificate expires system will always think that I am healthy.
Ive gone through 4.8 release notes, it still does not seem to be supported ?
Any comments are appreciated.
DumluI think this is mentioned in the release notes; did you check the following section?

Does Cisco NAC support for HP Switches
Dear all,
the existing network has HP switches , is there any way i can deploy Cisco NAC solution here ?
Pls revert .
thanks ,Cisco NAC has lots of limitations, and surly this is one of them. But while I respect the fact that cisco will not support NAC on HP switches. It can work. And it will perform just fine, once you understand “Cisco NAC” and able to configure it for the first time, you will be able to support it without the need of TAC.
The idea is that Cisco NAC sends commands to the switches on the network to apply specific access list or Vlan changes, since Cisco can only speak Cisco, it does not know how to tell other switches to do that. . The work around is that you would have the NAC running in in-line mode on your network, yes this will introduce a bottleneck, but that is the only way to do it. The NAC then will look at the traffic based on the MAC or IP and apply set of policies depending on the source or the destinations.
Please do your research and look at other NAC solutions before you decide the best vendor to go with.
