Does Cisco inline power work w/ LWAPP?

We have a bunch of old 3524XL's that are providing power for our Autonoumous AP's.
Does anyone know if they'll work after we convert the AP's to LightWeight?
thanks.

Kevin,
The Cisco pre-standard power will work to power the AP's, but the WLC's will have a problem with this. They will see that the AP is not being provided the 15.4W that is the 802.3af standard and will not turn on the radios, claiming there is not enough power.
The way to fix this is, in 3.2 go to the command line and issue the command:
config ap power pre-standard enable all.
In 4.0 you can issue the command:
config ap power pre-standard
OR from the GUI you can go to the details of hte AP, and there are checkboxes for pre-standard and injector.

  • Poe881 Router and Cisco Inline Power (pre-standard PoE)

I have a number of 881 Routers and 79x0 IP Phones. These phones use "Cisco Inline Power", aka "pre-standard PoE". In other words, they are not compatible with standard 802.3af PoE.
It would be possible for me to install a daughtercard and DC adapter in the 881 routers and provide PoE to two of the ethernet ports. My question is whether the 881 (when equipped for PoE) will support Cisco Inline Power, or if it will only support 802.3af.
For reference, the 200 and 300 series Small Business switches support these phones with a software upgrade. See this link: https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/71841/200-and-300-switches-now-supports-cisco-pre-standard-poe-legacy-poe
    Many thanks,

    Hi Tom,
I don't have an 880 but I have a large fleet of 890 and all of them have PoE and I know these 890 support 802.3af easily.

  • Inline power support

    Hi,
Does the new ESW switches support "Cisco Inline Power" Some Service Providers are using CP-7940/60 with SIP image as a service and need switches that automatically detects that the device only support Inline Power..

The ESW 500 series of switches does power up the 7960 / 7940 phones (pre standard) via POE.

  • Cisco 6921 - Inline Power Capable?

I am trying to determine if Cisco 6921 phones are actually compatible with Inline Power (Cisco pre-standard).
I have seen multiple data sheets from Cisco that say that they are, and then others that say that they only support 802.3af.  They are 6.3w phones, so I'd assume they support pre-standard, but I am not 100% sure without having one in front of me.  Does anybody know?
    Thanks!

Wrong forum, should be "IP Telephony". You can move the posts using the control panel on the right".
Anwyay, that may also depend by the specific switch you have. Check:

    What am I missing?

Yes.  Makes sense.  You need to upgrade your 1400w Power Supply to something bigger.  Here's the math:
    Total 710 -- -- 590 412
You've got a 4506 chassis and populated six out of seven slots.  With six slot loaded, the line cards pull up to 710w from your Power Supply.   Now if you look at the Data Sheet for the WS-X4648-RJ45V+E line card it states that this particular line card can support up to 48 ports running 15.4w (or 24 ports at 30w PoE).  The product of 30w & 24 ports is 720.  So if you add up 720 and 710 you get a sum of 1430 which is OVER your 1400w Power Supply.  This is the reason why the line card is complaining.
It doesn't matter if you've got a WS-X4648-RJ45V+E line card and you're going to, for example, plug 10 APs.  When the line card is loaded into the chassis, the line card will immediately "chop" or "slice" 720w off the power supply.  This is how it works.

  • Does Cisco ATA work with a text phone?

I'm trying to get my Cisco ATA to work with a fax and a text phone at one of our sites. Has anyone used a text phone on an ATA?

    Hi Stephan,
Yes I posted in the wrong forum by mistake.
I've now managed to get it working so a text phone does work with an ATA.
A textphone is used by the deaf or hard of hearing. It has a keyboard and LCD screen and allows the user to type text which is relayed through to a textphone at the other end.
    Thanks

  • Does Cisco MOC RCC Plug-in support Windows 7 64bits?

    Hi,
I tried to install the Cisco_MOC_RCC_Plug-in.msi on a Windows 7, 64 bits. (CUPS is 7.0.8, the plug-in is coming from the CUPS server)
I use the command line, I receive the installation windows, do a complete install. But, after I don't see the Cisco Phone Selection tab in the MOC.
The same steps works properly on Windows XP, 32 bits.
I verified the Cisco document but they never mention the OS supported by the RCC plug-in.
Does Cisco MOC RCC Plug-in support Windows 7 64bits?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Actually, it is mentioned on the CUPS server itself on the page of the plug-in download (CUPS Server admininstration > Applications > Plugins > ..).
    Here is a copy/paste from CUPS 8.0.4.x -
"The Cisco Unified Presence Microsoft Office Communicator (MOC) 2007  Remote Call Control plugin allows MOC users to select which phone line  they wish MOC to control. When installed, the plugin will expose a CUP  web page within the MOC application where users can change their current  MOC phone line of control. This version is supported on Microsoft  Windows XP/Vista"
Although it doesn't mention windows 7 (32/64) (meaning dev team haven't tested it to certify), please feel free to give it a try.
    Thanks

  • Can someone explain how "Hybrid Power" works on the GT70?

I have had my GT70 20C for a couple months now and have yet to see Hybrid Power working once. I have been playing games that are clearly taxing my system to the max (SC Blacklist and Rome 2) but the Hybrid Power monitor always says "OFF".
Am i missing something obvious? I've tried searching the forums and Internet and it seems others are having the same issue, but i'm having trouble tracking down an answer.
It is my understanding that Hybrid Power only kicks in when it needs too, but it doesn't seem to be doing that at all.
Is there a way to force it on?
Can anyone shed some light on how this feature is supposed to work?
    cheers,
    -deluxxe

same question same computer. Hybrid power is a application but it already runs hidden on your laptop. I always play on my laptop with the charger connected. never on battery. I get about 40-80 frames on ultra on bf3 without the AA or Sync. One day I forgot to check if the outlet was on, and I noticed that my laptop was "struggling" to run the same setting I always run. I quickly checked if I was in "gaming" mode for the G settings and the windows 8 battery settings. I was and started getting worried that something happened to my laptops GPU. I started checking what was running on task manager, using cc cleaner to see and new start-up programs running, checked to see if the disk was in use or if that automatic maintenance was occurring since I have everything always running smooth. nothing was running expect the normal. I then realized that I was running on battery. I remembered that this hybrid energy thing only worked on if you have it plugged in and charging because somewhere I read said that the battery wouldn't be able to "Boost" the gpu or overclock or whatever they want to call it. Running on battery wont boost the gpu because theres not enough watts going in. While charging it will boost the gpu. im not sure wether this is the case that it does overclock the gpu because it clearly says cpu on the hybrid application. And once you go on gaming mode the gigherts gets locked to 3.3 on the cpu speed. its all confusing to me and im still trying to figure it out but all I know for sure is that you will gain a very big boost on ur speed or performance on ur gpu when you have it connected to the charger and charging. I tested it out by unplugging and pluging while play minecraft with a shaders mod(which really takes up a lot of GPU) and bf3 and arma. and yes, when on battery u have to lower ur settings to getting decent frames, while charging or plugged in you get to pretty much maximize your settings. I went from 60 frames on arma3 to 20-30 frames on battery. how sad that you must always be connected to get that good boost and fps. im not sure wether this is a good since only msi does this and it really its overclocking your gpu, or if 770m is always runs that good and msi just saves you battery when gaming on battery. im not sure but if it really is helping out my gaming then that hybrid power is really good becausae that boost in frames is like a never go back type of thing. always game with turbo fan on and plugged in and charging

  • Why does AirPort Extreme stop working when I plug in a USB hard drive?

Why does Airport Extreme stop working when I plug in a USB hard drive?  The USB drive has its own power supply.  I've tried isolating the hard drive from Airport using a powered USB hub to no avail.

The USB port on the AirPort Extreme is borderline as far as its ability to supply adequate power to a hard drive. Another way of saying the same thing is that this is not a high power USB port, like you would find on a computer.
Your 2TB drive likely requires a bit more current than the USB port on the AirPort Extreme can supply. It is also possible that the drive's firmware may not support a network USB connection....only a "local" connection to a computer. Check with Seagate support on that possibility.
Try using a powered USB hub with the 2TB drive....and make sure that the drive is formatted correctly in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) or FAT32....which the AirPort Extreme USB port can accept.

That's strange, because no where in the iPhone's limited warranty does it state "365 days", but it does state 1 year. I think the only way they could get out of that is because of the battery, which is not covered by the warranty. HOWEVER, it is stated on AT&T's website that claims are handled from 31-365 days, which would explain why the Apple people acted as such. I know you have Verizon, but since it is (essentially) the same device, it's under the same warranty.
