Does Cisco WAP4410N work as repeater for Linksys E4200 ?

Does Cisco WAP4410N work as repeater for Linksys E4200 ?
Hi,
i have Linksys E4200 and I need repeater for it ...
Can anybody help me with this issue ?
BR

Thx for answer
I tested it and it works as Wireless Client - computer connected by ethernet wire is OK, everything works (DHCP etc)
but when i turn on " Allow wireless station to associate" in WAP4410N settings of "Wireless Client/Repeater" it doesn't work at all
I mean clients on wireless side and on wire side too ( DHCP doesnt work , there is no communication )

Does Cisco have any demo license for VCS?

    Hi
I believe you get very limited (1x traversal/1x non traversal) licenses if you just install the software.
Also see this thread; you may get a time limited demo license from the licensing team if you ask nicely.

  • Outlook 2010 does not accept password & prompts repeatedly for a password

I'm trying to configure an exchange account. I can access the account on outlook.office365.com & my phone.  After I enter my user name & password & click next, a Windows Security window opens up ( the window says Mail Application, connecting
to my username, remember my credentials) asking for my password. When I enter My password it is not accepted and prompts repeatedly for a password. When I cancel a Microsoft Exchange window pops up with the microsoft exchange server address & my mailbox.
Checking the name opens up the Windows Security windows & My password it is not accepted and prompts repeatedly for a password. I also get an error message: the name can't be resolved. Connection to MS exchange unavailable.
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    Hi,
For the issue of save password setting not retained in Outlook, I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned in below KB article and see if it helps:
    http://support.microsoft.com/?id=290684
For the specific error message you mentioned in the post:
"the name can't be resolved. Connection to MS exchange unavailable)"
Usually, it means there is something wrong on your Exchange server side, I would suggest you to check with your mail administrator on this.

  • Not enough port fields in port forwarding for Linksys E4200

I have always used netgear routers in the past. After a series of issues regarding configurations not working correctly I invested in what appeared to be a semi pro router, the cisco linksys e4200.
I have a centralized server which I use to access a mass of different services such as mail, dns, VPN, FTP, Kerberos, http and many more. While I am not a massive networking nerd, this server setup is like my garage project. To access these services externally to my LAN as far as I understand I would need to configure port forwarding for each service to my server. Unfortunately the control panel for the linksys E4200 only offers about 15 custom port fields for forwarding, and some documentation I have read shows that with it's basic install my server could be using up to 60 ports at once.
Is this router just not suitable for this sort of network. If so I will be very disappointed because I have spent a quarter of the price on netgear routers with more control than this.
If anybody could assist with details and options I would greatly appreciate it

Wrong forum, use "small business routers".

  • Dual wan failover config: failback does not always work as expected for existing LAN traffic flows

I have an 881 router configured with 2 dhcp WAN connections.  I am trying to configure failure detection of the primary connection (I do not really care about the secondary at this time).
I have an ip sla/track configured to monitor the primary WAN connection, and if it stops passing traffic it removes that route, passing all traffic out the second WAN connection.  When the first connection is restored it should restore the route and everything should pass through the first connection again.  This works for all my tests except one.  If I start a ping stream from a client "ping 8.8.8.8 -t" and disconnect the primary connection it will lose a few packets but then use the secondary connection in about 15 seconds.  After restoring the primary connection all new traffic will use the primary connection, but the ping stream will then stop working (fails over, but not back).  If I stop the ping stream for a time (not sure how long is required, but my test was over a minute) it will then use the primary connection like all other new traffic.  A stop of a few seconds is not enough, and even opening up a second command prompt to ping the same target also does not work (pinging new targets works as desired).  It is as if something is caching the route/session/whatever and it has to have a window of no traffic before expiring/relearning the route.  This means any sustained traffic to the original target will not work until it is stopped for a certain time to let "something" age out.
I need to know if there is a way to "flush the cache" (or whatever) during fail-back to force the primary route to be used after fail-back, or something else that will have the same effect.  My suspicion is that the second route gets "preferred" because the first is removed by the sla, and when the sla returns the route to the list the existing traffic flow is not aware of the route list change, using the last known good route (which now does not pass traffic).  The Issue here is that it takes a length of time for the now bad route to get flushed, which is greater than I want to have.

  • How Does Cisco Software Work?

For example a typical cisco software relase is.. 12.2.25(EWA4).
My understanding is that 12 is the major release level, 2 is the minor release, 25 is the feature chain, and EWA4 is the patch level.
First are my assumptions correct above? Also what are others doing to stay current, I have heard 2 opinions, 1 you dont upgrade infrastructure, unless there is a patch/security issues/ feature you need becuase of availability, also I have heard the old you must be within 2 . release levels, does this mean 12.3 or 12.2.26 ? from 12.2.25? Appreciate any opinions.
    Thanks.

  • Native Cisco VPN - Works but asks for password every time

After installing Snow Leopard, I found that my Cisco Application didnt work anymore. No worries, there is a native app now.
I made a new connection with the native app, and it works.
    Except.
Every time I go to connect, it prompts me for my password. Even if I've already entered it in the network settings panel. That's rather annoying, as I would prefer it remember the password for me.

not a problem here is a solution just follow the instructions from this link and you should be able to save your password in your keychain, i have tried and it works great. incase you dont find the keyAux thing just use the search bar at the top of the keychain access window and you should find it

  • Does Cisco ATA work with a text phone?

I'm trying to get my Cisco ATA to work with a fax and a text phone at one of our sites. Has anyone used a text phone on an ATA?

    Hi Stephan,
Yes I posted in the wrong forum by mistake.
I've now managed to get it working so a text phone does work with an ATA.
A textphone is used by the deaf or hard of hearing. It has a keyboard and LCD screen and allows the user to type text which is relayed through to a textphone at the other end.
    Thanks

  • Does sync still work on Aurora for mobile devices (Android)))?

cannot access sync anywhere.. swiping to the side doesn't work, neither is there anything in the menus.

    Hi,
In the Aurora mobile build that was just made available today, there is a new sync.
This is the first drop and is very unstable, but if you update to the 1.17 Aurora build, you will see Sync in a new location, under Applications on your Android phone. It has the familiar Sync icon and is called Firefox Sync.
It will sync your Bookmarks and Passwords only and again is very new. But, I set it up this morning on my HTC shift and it is working great for me, so thanks in advance if you try it and test it out!

  • Does Convergent really work with Verizon for Collections?

    Hi There!
I had some issues with Verizon a few months back, i won't get into the details, but needless to say i was ****** off enough to cancel my service after 11 years of being a customer.
When they added up my last bill + termination fees it was around $1000, i don't tend to have that kind of money laying around, so i offered to make payments of a few hundred bucks a month ($200-$300) and was told that wasn't good enough, if i wasn't going to pay half at once they didn't care.
So i have let it sit there and kept contacting back to see if i could set up a payment plan.
I just got a letter from a Convergent Solutions the other day saying they are handling the collections on the account on behalf of verizon, and they have offered me a settlement for 60% of the debt. However, when i googled them, there are a lot of blog posts and things about them being a scam, and people who have paid them but still been contacted by verizon for the balance they owe. There are also over 200 disputes that had to go through BBB to be resolved.
I have contacted Verizons Customer service and gotten no response
    So my questions are:
    1. Is convergent really working on behalf of verizon, and if i pay off the settlement with them, my account will be rectified?
    2. Convergent says they do NOT report any accounts to credit agencies. However they cannot promise that Verizon will not report it as negative, even though it's been paid. (Potentially negative as "Delinquent: Paid/Closed") Honestly, if it's still going to show up as a negative on my credit, i'm less motivated to fork over my whole tax refund to pay it off....so i would only want to pay it off with an agreement from Verizon/Convergent that it will not be reported to the credit agencies.
Anyone have any advice/suggestions? The settlement offer expires on 1/31 so i'm on a short timetable, lol.
Thank in advance for all your help!

    Hello lookn_glas_shrd,
I think the majority of us have been in the position you're in, and I would like to help you with your situation. The amount of information I am able to see depends on how long it has been since the service was disconnected. I would have to access your account information. I assure you that I am an employee of Verizon Wireless. Please send me a DM (Direct Message) with your name and your mobile number, as well as the zip code of your billing address. If I cannot view the necessary information, I can assist by pointing you in the right direction. Once I see the account, I will be able to gather the necessary data and provide you with 100% information. More importantly, you will be provided with peace of mind in knowing exactly what's going on and how we can resolve this together.
I look forward to hearing from you!

  • Onfigure a WAP54G to act as a repeater for my wireless network hosted by a Cisco/Linksys WAP610AP

How can I configure a WAP54G to act as a repeater for my wireless network hosted by a Cisco/Linksys WAP610AP
I am using ONLY 2.4GHz wireless band on the WAP610AP running Firmware Version 1.0.04
The signal from WAP610AP is weak in my home office and I would like to use the WAP54G as the repeater. Is this possible? If yes, please help!
    TIA

This statement is according to the WAP’s user interface: When set to "AP Client" and "WirelessBridge" mode, this device will only communicate with another Linksys Access Point (WAP54G). When set to "Wireless Repeater" mode, this device will only communicate with another Linksys Access Point (WAP54G) and Linksys Wireless-G Router (WRT54G). In a nutshell, the WAP54G may have a big possibility that it will not work on that device.

  • WAP4410N work in Client-Repeater mode?

I have purchased 4 of these devices about 2 months ago and have experienced all of the issues reported within this thread.  The came with the 2.0.0.5 FW rev installed, so unless the 2.0.0.5 on the cisco DL site is different, nothing I can do with that.
I've tried making them work as stand alone AP's, Bridge<->Bridge, etc... all modes seem to lock up eventually needing a reboot to get any functionality back.
Ultimately, I need to make them work in AP<->Client-Repeater mode.  I've not been successful in making them work in any mode for a prolonged period of time.
having just rfound this thread today, I have not tried hard coding the NIC's to 100/full, but will give it a try.  If it works, great, but then that would defeat the purpose of buying an N radio AP.  I would like the potential 300Mbps throughput.
Any update from Cisco on this?  Help!!!

In my experience the WAP4410N worked perfectly for the purpose described in this thread, after following the directions given above. However, there is a little more information that will likely be helpful.
The short: Connect the first WAP to the network in AP mode (I will call this one the primary), the second in WDS Repeater mode, assign the second a unique SSID, list the MAC of each in the configuration of the other, should be all set. Each WAP will allow clients to connect, the remote WAP will provide full network connectivity, including passing through DHCP.
And I think this is a correct statement: client/repeater mode does not apply to the scenario presented in this thread. It seems as though the "client" would be the various workstations connection to the WAP. But in fact the "client" is the remote WAP, which is connecting to the primary WAP as a client, and then routing traffic through. My bet is this would apply to a use of a WAP4410N with another manufacture of AP.
But, I had the same problems as amvita - none of this worked when I first tried.
I think the reason is simple: I initially configured using the client/repeater mode. I started by setting up the remote WAP, assigned it a unique SSID, set up security, then configured for client/repeater. At the time that the WAP connects and authenticates to the primary AP, its unique SSID is REPLACED with the SSID of the primary. I guess this is clever - it would appear that there is a single SSID to connect, even though there are multiple WAPs forming the network. This configuration did not work, so I went back to the WDS Repeater mode. But now the SSIDs match between the primary and remote, and the pair does not work. So put back the unique SSID on the remote WAP, and everything should be good.

  • Repeater with Linksys for US.Robotics wireless modem

    Hi everyone
I want to repeat my us.robotics wireless signal with linksys repeater. Can ı do this with linksys. This occur any problem? Which product ı must choose for linksys repeater?
    thanks

    have you followed the instructions:-
Reverse Telnet from the PC to the modem.
Use a terminal emulation program on the PC, such as HyperTerminal, and access the PC modem through the COM port you connected to in step 1. Once you connect to the PC modem through the COM port, you need to apply the initialization string (see step 4). For an example, refer to the Example HyperTerminal Session section of Configuring Client Modems to Work with Cisco Access Servers.
Type this initialization string which writes the desired initialization string settings to NVRAM:
    AT&FS0=1&C1&D2&H0&R1&B1&M4&K0&N6&W
Note: The 0s in this string are zeroes. See the Miscellaneous section of this document for information about initialization strings.
Note: You should receive an OK response from the modem. If the modem does not respond, verify that the modem hardware and cabling function correctly.
Enter this initialization string in order to disable Echo and result codes:
    ATE0Q1&W
Change DIP switches 4 and 8 to down and keep the rest as up. Then power cycle the modem.
Unplug the rolled RJ-45 cable from the RJ-45-to-DB-9 adapter of the PC and attach it to the console port of the ASA.
