Does CS4, CS5, or CS6 have the abliity to open CS2 files?

I currently am running Adobe CS2 on my Windows XP computer. I will soon have to upgrade to Windows 8, and I know CS2 will not run on Windows 8, but I also know that my files will not open in CS3 ('ve tried opening an Illustrator CS2 file in CS3, and it wouldn't open). Does CS4, CS5, or CS6 have the abliity to open CS2 files?

CS3 will definately open a cs2 file. Something is not right if it won't. I have been using illsutrator since CS2 and have not had an issue yet.

As of June 2014, none of the Adobe Reader mobile products support the hyperlink action for opening a separate PDF document.
Adobe Reader for iOS
Adobe Reader for Android
Adobe Reader Touch for Windows 8
In addition, the Reader mobile products do not open multiple windows/documents simultaneously, which would make the navigation between PDF documents nearly impossible. (Once a hyperlink takes you to a different PDF document, you have no way to go back to the original PDF document.)
The only Adobe Reader product that fulfills your department's requirements is Adobe Reader XI (mostly for Windows/Mac desktop/laptop computers). Acrobat Pro and Standard are paid products.
Because you are in search of a less expensive device for your department, you could get a Windows tablet instead of a Windows desktop/laptop computer. Microsoft Surface Pro (that you've mentioned in your previous reply) is just one example. You can also find other less expensive Windows tablets.
Tablets
However, please keep in mind that there are two different types of Windows tablets running two different operating systems.
(a) A Windows tablet with an Intel-based processor running Windows 8.1 Pro
Example: Surface Pro 3
You can install and run traditional desktop apps (e.g. Adobe Reader XI) and new Windows Store apps ("Modern" or "Metro-style" apps).
(b) A Windows tablet with an ARM-based processor running Windows RT 8.1
Example: Surface 2
You can only install and run Windows Store apps (e.g. Adobe Reader Touch) but not traditional desktop apps like Adobe Reader XI.
In general, type (b) tablets are more affordable than type (a) tablets. However, if you want to run Adobe Reader XI, you do need to check the technical specification of each tablet and make sure the following conditions are met.
Processor: Intel
Operating system: Windows 8/8.1 or Windows 8/8.1 Pro, not RT

Is it still possible to have the option to "open" a file when downloading it instead of saving it to the downloads folder?

The question pretty much says it all: the old versions of Firefox used to allow you to select "open" when downloading a file instead of saving it to a directory. I am fully aware that that's what selecting "open" does anyway, but I still like that option. Is it still available? That's one of my major irritations with Chrome, which I am considering switching from since Firefox 4 is faster.

I was able to get part way through cs4, it showed up in my downloads but never got as far in the process as to ask for serial numbers. I tried with cs2 and I got an error message that some bit of information was incorrect. I currently have both downloaded on two other lap tops I own. One is operational and one is dead. I cannot access the dead one to remove the program. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

I have Adobe CS4. No longer have the disc

My discs for Adobe CS4 were stolen, I have the serial number and want to know how to download it to my PC. I did download the first file out of 2. I tried to download the second & I get "the file archive part of CS4 is missing". I've tried to install everything (as best as I know how & I get the message that there isn't enough room on my system. Impossible, it's brand new. Can someone please help me figure this out? I'm not a total idiot, but this is really driving me crazy. I need to get this software downloaded somehow & of course I can't talk to anyone at Adobe, phone support isn't available. I think I need someone to walk me through the whole process from beginning to end.

Warning CS4 CS5 and CS6 Photoshop Action Users

Adobe introduce the Adjustment Panel in CS4 and included two option that you should NEVER CHANGE from their default setting. For if either or both are change from their default settings some actions that add adjustment layers will fail to work properly. They may or may not produce error pop-ups.
I have been trying to get this fixed for a couple of years now. The other day I received an e-mail from an Adobe programmer informing me that he had been assigned the task to fix the problems I've been having. He included information he was considering. It was clear he did not fully understand the problems and that keeping one of the options would make it impossible to maintain compatibility with previous versions of Photoshop. I wrote two e-mails explaining the problems and a third detailing what the problems I saw with what was proposing. He wrote back the all he wanted to do was to work on part of the problem not the whole problem. I wrote a fourth note but Adobe is back is stealth mode.
The two options in the Adjustment Panel fly-out menu are:
"Add Layer Mask by Default" checked by default. This is how Photoshop always worked prior to CS4 there was never an option not to add one so nothing was ever recorded whether or not a layer mask was to be added they always were. Changing this will make Photoshop not backward compatible.
"Clip to Layer" not checked by default. There has always been an option to clip adjustment layers to the previous layer. So when the option is used the action recorder records the option "With Clipping Mask" in the make adjustment layer step. When the Adjustment Layer is not clipped the option "with Clipping Mask" is not recorded. In the past these recordings played back correctly and still do if the Adjustment Panel fly-out option "Clip to Layer" is not checked. However if Adjustment Panel option is checked even though is was nit when the action was recorded for the option "With Clipping Mas" is not recorded Photoshop clips the layer because of the Adjustment Panel current Option setting. That could be fixed. The current option setting has no meaning in this context in fact the Adjustment panel may not have even been used to recode the Make Adjustment Layer step.
Here is a link to a simple action recorded in CS6. It opens a new default size document add an Levels Adjustment Layer deletes the layer mask and then clips the adjustment layer to the previous layer. The Action will play correctly in all versions of Photoshop prior to cs4. It will fail in CS4, CS5 and CS6 if either or both of the Adjustments Panel fly-out options are changed from their default setting. http://www.mouseprints.net/old/dpr/CS6AdjLayer.atn

Generally, you would have got the option to remove the old versions. However, you can uninstall the old versions but you should do it from Windows Add/Remove modules in the Control Panel so that it doesn't remove the common files from your machine.
If you are not constrained by disk space then the best thing is to leave the old programs on the system until you are familiar with the new features of the upgraded program.
I have renmoved the old programs from my Windows 7 because I wasn't using them. These days I use "Corel Paintshop Pro X5" and "Corel Draw Graphics Suite X6".
Photoshop is for something I need to test for my colleagues who are not familiar with certain features in Corel so I tell them how to do it in PS CS6.

Just save the document to a new jpeg file name using a lower quality setting or re-size the image down in size the save a high quality smaller new jpeg image.

As long as the app remains in the store then you can re-download it via the Purchased tab in the App Store app, or via the Purchased Link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
Similarly ibooks can be re-downloaded, and depending upon what country that you are in then music, films and tv shows may also be re-downloadable (if they remain available in the store).

If it is Mac, you do not have Chroma Key, Blue Screen Key, Green Screen Key. You should have Videomerge.

Does Premier Pro CS.5 have the option to zoom in on a subject in the video? How about cropping the picture so you remove the "outside elements" that are distracting at the edges of the original film footage? I have a home video of my daughter singing and there's an obnoxious man that I thought was out of my picture while filming. when i uploaded it, I found that I didn't account for the icons on the side of the camera screen and so actually the man is on the edge of the video waving his arms and basically becoming the center of attention while watching the video. I want to zoom in on my daughter thereby cutting the guy out of the left side of the screen so she becomes the focus of the video again. Does Premier Pro do this? Does the trial version do this? Is there an EASIER program to try for this kind of editing? Because Premier Pro is complicated and definitely not user friendly for the very Amateur dummy like me.

PP has a scale facility. If you are editing in the same format as your shoot, the image will start to pixelate at about 5% increase (105% total).
If, however you shot in HD, for example, (1920 x 1080) and want to edit in 720 x 576, you can scale to almost 200% without image break-up.

Well, taking the example you mentioned, if you decrease or increase the size of the image, it doesn't have to affect the original quality of your media. Of course, if you increase the image size, the quality will be "poor" in the sense that you are zooming to the details of your image. Depending on the compression you are working on, the more compression have (DV as lowest), the more decreasing on the sharpness will happen in the increasing of the picture.
Increasing doesn't gets better than decreasing.
Sometimes I work with photos in FCP, and to prevent this loss, I save the photo in 1440x960 to keep the most definition that a picture can give me, when the zooming in time would arrive, that Image Size covers me up on keeping a good quality in my Final result, is simply the double of the standard.
Obviusly, decreasing does not affect so much in quality.
