Does CS4 Production Premium Come With ScreenCasting Software?

I currently own CS4 Production Premium and I need to record some desktop sessions for a video tutorial.
Before I go out and buy something I figured I should check to make sure it's not a feature of one of the dozens of applications that came with CS4.
I didn't see anything that stood out. But I've overlooked built in features before.
Anyone know?

I apologize for the miscommunication on our part.
Story Plus is not included with Production Premium CS6. What is shown in the video (creating a script, exporting as ASTX and importing it in PPro CS6) can be accomplished using Adobe Story Free. You just need to create an Adobe ID at http://story.adobe.com/ and start writing.

  • CS4 Production Premium (Student) with Windows 7

    Hi,
I've just bought a new laptop which comes with Windows 7. I'm looking to get CS4 Production Premium ASAP because I have a lot of work to do over Christmas. Everywhere I have looked for it (Amazon, Studica Lambda Tek) they seem to suggest it is only compatible with XP and Vista. Is this the case? I thought the student suites were exactly the same other than their rules on commercial use but is it possible that the new versions of the normal suites are compatible with Windows 7 but they haven't updated the student ones?
    Thanks,
    Peter.

There is no update on the CS4 for Windows 7 compatibility. All versions are Windows 7-compatible.

  • Do Macs come with antivirus software?

Does the MacBook Pro come with antivirus software? I'm a fisrt time mac owner. If not, what is good for mac?

I disagree with that. If you are behind a router there is no need for a computer firewall. All they seem to do is make it harder to network the computer with others. There is a reason it is turned off by default, IE it is not needed. But it is there for the paranoid among us.

  • CS5 Production Premium causing problems with CS4 Production Premium

I have been using CS5 Production Premium alongside CS4 Production Premium for a while now.  After Effects, PhotoShop & Illustrator work alright together (both CS4 & CS5 versions).  My job actually necessitates me keeping both versions on my machine.
I had need to use both Premiere Pro CS4 and Encore CS4, and neither of the applications would initialize.  The following is the error message from clicking the Premiere Pro CS4 application file.
I am uncertain what the application event log is or where it is located.
Over on Creative Cow's site, I posted a similar message in the forums, in which a user stated that I should not have CS4 and CS5 on the same partition of my drive.
I do have a secondary internal hard drive on which I could install one of the suites, however, I want to make sure that it is done properly and efficiently.  I have seen some issues with uninstalling CS4 after installing CS5, so I wanted to ask for help before I simply begin to rip software off my PC (since After Effects and PhotoShop - which work - actually comprise 95% of my Adobe workload).
Any suggestions or guidance is appreciated.  Also, which version (CS4 or CS5) would be better suited on the secondary drive?
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

  • I have 64 bit windows 7 and CS4 Production Premium. I have a problem with Premiere Pro CS4, it keeps

I have 64 bit windows 7 and CS4 Production Premium. I have a problem with Premiere Pro CS4, it keeps freezing and Crashing. A simple thing like leaving the project idle for about 15 minutes, you come back and find that it has frozen. Also if you drag out a clip on the timeline you will find that the whole application freezes. Any possible solutions would be much appreciated.

  • Question for Anyone Using CS4 Production Premium with Windows 7

I'm testing Windows 7 at home with CS3 Production Premium and have not had any issues. Of course CS4 is quite a bit different.
Anyone using CS4 Production Premium on Windows 7 regularly? Any issues to report?
    Thanks

Thanks for replying to my post:

This is on Windows 7 RC 64bit."
On our systems at work that have XP and Vista + CS4 Production Premium.  I've noticed this with preview files in particular and possibly some others, I don't remember. The "show only exact file" checkbox is greyed out. This is somewhat annoying because projects can have a huge number of preview files with long  cryptic names making it a pain to locate the correct one manually to get the ball rolling. If I don't think it'll take too long to re-render, I just select "skip preview files".
We bought 3 licenses for Windows 7 and I'm encouraged by the performance, reliability and features on my home test system (RC 64) that has CS3 installed. Can't wait to get rid of XP and Vista.

  • Does the Quantum DVR come with updated On Demand software?

I am started to get really annoyed with the software in the Verizon Boxes. The timeout and no resume after a few minutes.  The fact that it doesn't show you what you've watched previously.  The 2x fast forward (if at all).  All of these things keep pushing us to Netflix and Amazon more and more.  Also, my neighbor has the new Cablevision box - it was like I suddenly got transported from the 1990's (the Verizon System) to 2008 era (the new Cablevision system) - and worst of all I was impressed by this!
I was hoping that the Quantum DVR comes with new software??  Does it fix any of these issues?

Thanks for the response.  I will be a more specific:
2X speed limit.  I have never worked in engineerying cable boxes but I know that Amazon, Netflix, and Amazon have all figured out how to increase the speeds on devices they don't control - so I am not sure why Verizon can't deliver this.
On long pauses the timeout does not remember that you were watching the show.  The resume show option goes away after some time - not sure how long it is but it is not long - perhaps 30 minutes.  When the resume goes away the 2X speed limit suddenly becomes very important because getting back to the point you left of can be painful.  Also, if you were lucky enough to be watching a show that had fast forward disabled you have no choice but to watch it.  Again, from a software engineering perspective - allowing someone to fast forward back to the point in the show that you left off should not be that difficult.
As fars as knowing what you watched - Netflix and all of the other services know when you have watched a show.  So if you are working your way through a series it highlghts those shows that have been previously watched.  On Verizon you have no idea - so many times I start watching an episode only to realize that I had already seen it.  This is especially prevalent when the description of the episode does not provide enough information to evaluate the contents of the episode - such as "Season 2, Episode 3"!  Netflix goes one better and even allows viewer profiles - so you indicate who is watching and it keeps track of your watching and resume points.  In this day and age this is fairly basic stuff.
I have seen that many of these issues have been noted on the forum for years now.  I had originally posted to see if any of the new DVRs actually had new software - making them worth looking at.  But it appears the most signfiicant change on the software that has happened in the last couple of years is the addition of ads at the bottom of the guide screen and enhanced widgets.  Does anyone actually use widgets on their computer screen - doesn't everyone have a smart phone in their pocket with the weather and traffic on it?

  • CS4 Production Premium System Requirements?

We are getting CS4 Production Premium and are trying to figure out how the software interacts with the hardware.  One of the Requirements that adobe list on it site is as follows.
Dedicated 7200 RPM hard drive for DV and HDV editing; striped disk array storage (RAID 0) for HD; SCSI disk subsystem preferred
I wanted to know how exactly is the dedicated (I read as second) hard drive utilized.  I have contacted Adobe and they stated that the software uses it as a swap disk when editing large video files and that it was not actually necessary.  This seems odd to me as it is listed as a requirement and not a recommendation.  Does anyone know how the second disk is actually utilized, and if it is as adobe described how do you set it up in the software and is it really no required?

It was for Adobe Creative Suite 4 - which is what you asked about.
You should Adobe for further details, but it appears to be a 64 bit application requiring 16GB of RAM!

  • Please Help Me -- CS4 Design Premium and CS4 Production Premium on Same Machine

We are a non-profit organization that gets donated software at a great price but you're limited to what's available. We bought the CS4 Design Premium Suite last year (CDs). I called the Adobe sales department to find out if I could run CS4 Design Premium on the same machine. They told me that I could. So I bought CS4 Design Premium as a download. It took a tremendous amount of time just to download the package, and once installed Premiere Pro would not run properly. I called tech support and spent 9+ hours on the phone and no resolution. They had me doing everything -- uninstalled both packages six times. They kept telling me I didn't have enough RAM (and I knew that was wrong because I have been editing using AVID before deciding to go with Adobe -- and I had the CS3 Adobe Premiere Pro, Soundbooth and Encore running on my E drive with no problem before I went ahead and bought CS4 Production Premium).
I took my computer back to the company that built it and they suggested that I replace my graphics card and sure enough, Premiere Pro worked fine. Everything seemed to work fine in both packages except Adobe Acrobat. When I opened a pdf file, Acrobat asked for a serial number, but wouldn't accept my Design Premium serial number. I called tech support thinking they would give me a different serial number for Acrobat or something simple. Needless to say after 3 hours, and uninstalling the software again, they told me I couldn't run two CS4 suites on the same computer. Then a supervisor told me I could run both suites, but I would need to run a cleanup program, uninstall both of my suites and start again!
All software in CS4 Design Premium installs except Acrobat. It is grayed out on the install screen as if it's already installed, and when I try to open a pdf file, the installer pops up, installs Acrobat, and asks for a serial number. When I enter the serial number, it gives me a red "x".
    SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!
I don't know where to turn now ... is there anybody in the United States that I can get help from?
Can Adobe deactivate my CS4 Design Premium and Production Premium and send me the Master Collection CS4?
Please help me if you can!

This is a user to user forum that is not monitored officially by either Adobe Technical Support or Adobe Customer Support. The issue you raise with regards to trading two copies of a suite for one of another is nothing that anyone here can assist you with.
Please contact Adobe Customer Support directly by phone. They are the only ones who can assist you with this.

  • Can I continue to use AA 1.5 if I get CS4 Production Premium?

I bought the CS4 Production Premium to use Premiere and Photoshop. CS4 comes with Soundbooth. I have no desire whatsoever to use SB. I've used AA for years and want to continue. But can I do that? Or will CS4 force me to update AA?
I've been thinking of upgrading, but I have no real need for it. Perhaps this will force me to... another question: if AA 1.5 will not work, (hopefully it does) surely AA 3 will, right?
    Thanks.

Fortunately for you, the answer is all good news. All versions of Audition can co-exist with each other, and no version of CS will interfere with them either. It's true that later versions will interface better with CS, but AFAIK there's nothing to stop you working the way you are at present if you install a new CS version. Soundbooth is certainly intended to interface with CS rather more intimately, I believe, but if you are happy with AA1.5, then there's no reason why you shouldn't continue to use it.

  • Adobe CS5  Production Premium vs. Adobe CS4 Production Premium

    Hello:
I am currently a worker at a production studio and we are thinking about upgrading our system Adobe CS3 Production Premium to either Adobe CS4 Production Premium or Adobe CS5  Production Premium.  Our company was at NAB convention in Las Vegas this year and were convinced that Adobe CS5 Production Premium was the way to go.  However we come to find (after purchace) that Adobe CS5 Production Premium only runs on (and correct me if Im wrong) 64 bit.  Now stuck with a system we cant use on our vista 32 bit I was wondering what are the beneifits between the two and if CS5 is really that great is it worth while to upgrade my computer systems.  I am sure I am not the only one to have run into this problem.  Any input or advice would be great.
    Sincerely,
    Really Confused

Look HERE for a quick summary of the new features in After Effects. I can personally attest to the power of the new rotobrush. If you do that kind of work, it will save you a ton of time. Rendering times are considerably faster and being able to RAM preview a 30 or 40 second clip all the way through at full res is finally a reality.
Look HERE for a summary of the new features in Premiere Pro. The major improvement here, in my opinion, is the ability to preview a multi-layer timeline with several effects in real time at full res without rendering.
I can't tell you if it's worth it to you to upgrade or not. All I can say is that I'm really happy with it, so far.

  • A laptop that is able to run Adobe CS4 Production Premium.

I just want to know which laptops could handle Adobe CS4 Production Premium (PhotoShop, Illustrator,Soundbooth,Premiere Pro,After Effects and more)

    NV2,
Not too many laptops are made to do what you require, and even the higher powered ones could, at times, experience some lag or slowness. That being said, there are a few that do a pretty good job with graphics and processing. For the PC platform you will want to look at the Asus G71GX-RBBD09 which is an online only laptop (Otherwise the other G71GX could be serviceable). The other road to take is with Mac in which case the upper end Macbook Pros would do great with that software. The MB985LL of MC226LL would work out great.

  • Currently have PSE 6 - Will be installing CS4 Production Premium

As the title indicates, I currently have PSE 6 / Premier Elements 4 and I will be receiving CS4 Production Premium.  I have been searching for information on how to convert my PSE 6 catalog to Photoshop 4.  Does anyone know of a resource I might be missing that I can research?
    Thanks!

    I presume you mean Photoshop/Bridge CS4.
There is no simple way since the databases are dissimilar. However I recall some discussion in the past on this.

  • Shipping CS4 Production Premium from US to Australia

    Hi All,
I'm new here, so my appologies if there is somewhere else I should be posting this question.
I want to purchase the CS4 Production Premium (full version, not upgrade). However the Australian pricing is really not good. The lowest price I can find here is $2232.
Amazon lists it for $1494, which even when converted to Australian dollars is very reasonable.
My question is, are there any legal or technical issues with shipping this product from the US to Australia? Are there any differences between the versions for the different countries? Would the license still be valid here? I expect I probably can't get a warranty if I do it this way, but I can live with that, to save nearly around $800 on the purchase price.
    Thanks,
    Eugene

Incidentally I'm not trying to do anything dodgy here. I want everything to be legit, I just can't see the point in paying so much more, just to get the software from a local retailer.
